  • A review of the WE M712 gas pistol. I missed out a few things in the review, an important one being that the magazines are NOT compatible with any other Mauser, including the Marushin the gun is based on. Also excuse my incorrect terminology (at times), if I say slide I mean bolt.

    On the subject of the noisy shoulder stock, I managed to fix it: take out the flathead screw on the stock, the dovetail mount should come off. Take out the spring that's pushing the release button, carefully stretch it a bit. Put it back and and reassemble the shoulderstock. Now it's almost noise free :D

      Very interesting you should say that, I've had some Swedish (I guess not Swiss) 1940s pants that were given to me from my grandfather (I don't know where he got them), I bought a gray wool tunic to match them, and I bought a Finnish M36 hat that fits nicely with the look! Now I'm really wanting to finish the look with a Finnish or German wool greatcoat, helmet, some face protection (gas mask or leather-chain mail mask) and either an airsoft setup like this, or the Luger P08 Artillerie with stock and drum magazine... I don't know which would be better 😂

    A few years ago I had an HFC M712 (the only C-96/M712 I could find at the time) and had a similar issue with those same red 9 grips. Just like yours, they wouldn't fit as-is so I had to cut a notch into them as well as some shaping to get them on. Also you guessed, a real stock wouldnt fit the notch either. Gotta also agree with you on perefering a proper C-96 (only semi, flush mag) over an M-712, would love to own an authentic if prices weren't so high.
    Really wish they'd have made this model at the time, seems better all around than the NBB HFC I owned. Great review

  • @gorazdvahen492
    @gorazdvahen492 Před 6 lety +12

    I love my M712. It's perfectly skirmish-able, even in the woods. Long range, good accuracy with 0,28. I use the stock as intended, it turns it into a little carbine. If you put a rag in the plastic stock to muffle the resonation it works like a charm. Had to get soft face protection though, the stock is quite high.
    Oh, and I painted a little white mark on that huge front post for better target acquisition against dark background. It is a +100 year-old design after all : )

    Wonderfully detailed review of the WE M712! One of the first in-depth English reviews I've found. It seems like more recently WE has been producing a lot of cool and unique GBBs on the market. Very excited for the GBB Thompson and Colt Junior. It's good to see WE improving over the years as I remember seeing many negative points back then.
    I've actually ordered a WE M712 carbine and can't wait to receive it. It's pretty cool if you've seen it.
    On eHobbyAsia, I saw a WE M712 with no markings.
    Thanks again for the review!

      @MindjackPWNS Před 7 lety +1

      I have received the WE M712 carbine. The stock definitely feels sturdy, little to no flex. The paint finish on the barrel and receiver is pretty good. A little wear on the bolt and the part where the stock attaches but nothing too bad. The front end is firm, very little rattle when shaken. Out of the box, the stock on the other hand is quite loud with the sling attachment point shaking around. The only thing that I found might be annoying to some is a slight bit of play where the stock attaches on to the main gun. Slight wobble but can't really be felt when shouldering the gun. That's about it. I personally really like it and am happy to own it. :D

      @@oddpony9254 It has a fairly complex mechanism and there are parts that will probably wear out if you shoot it a lot, although in the time I owned mine nothing broke. But, and I think this the important bit, WE spare parts are very cheap and easy to get if anything goes wrong. Also, the gun is far more durable than the horrible Marushin one with is your only other GBB Mauser option. Go for it!
