    Was a while ago but I think it was the game at home against Everton that Newcastle won 6-2…. Ball went about 200 feet up in the air and was dropping right under Nobby. He killed it like he was wearing velvet slippers. Lovely.

    would never try to speak of myself in their league. i played with a guy who would not look out of place on a rugby pitch. 6''3 / 6''4 about 16 stone and he played exactly like what they said about huddlestone. he would step onto a ball and it was like an arrow everytime he kicked the it. the ball made a different sound to any one else hitting it. that is just natural.

  • @laureanoalfaro9351
    @laureanoalfaro9351 Před 7 měsíci

    Great players were named and I guess it's oriented to name kind of elite but more "normal" players, because Zico, Messi, Pele, Maradona and those type of fellas didn't even think about controlling a ball, with no concern of speed, space, body part, etc. plus the majority of times with already one or two plays in their head.
    The managing of time and space of these off the charts players is beyond great and you have to combine these with off the charts control to pull out lots of their plays. More difficult even when entire matches sometimes are planned to frist try to nulify them and later see what we can do.

      Yh Ronaldinho [and Maradona] is probably the closest thing we've seen to a cheat code in terms of first touch and control over a football. His first touch seems to come out of his natural rhythm; the ball obeys him as opposed to other players whose touch/control is born out of muscle memory and repetition.

      I loved watching Hoddle play. His anticipation of what he was going to do with the ball before it arrived was unique. But he was not the same kind of player as Scholes. Scholes was everywhere. His engine to keep getting on the ball and keep the ball moving and keep the opposition guessing destroyed teams. During the 2nd half of his career when he played a deeper play-maker role he became the most influential player in football.
