Welcome in the Philippines 🇵🇭 and mabuhay.
Thank you! I am so excited to be back
wow. living there 25 yrs ago. must have been amazing figuring all that out without social media and such. Times were much better then! living the life in a different era!
I don’t know if it was better it certainly was more difficult to travel and understand things. When you only have a guidebook it’s just one opinion although I did watch Lonely Planet tv episodes as well
And that's what makes it more special and amazing. Anyone can travel this easily these days
Yes but I would counteract that with people now travel in different ways whereas before backpackers followed the Lonely Planet bible and those writers barely got paid anything and some didn’t even stay in or visit places because they couldn’t afford it. I do appreciate the days especially in the Philippines but I’m happy to also be a content creator and help people who have the same interests as me find special places.
your videos are so informative and enjoyable, Thanks Ayngelina.
Thank you so much for the kind words, it really means a lot to me 😊

I’m planning a trip back for May, how’s the weather in Manila then?
Welcome back to the Philippines! Enjoy your stay there..❤
Thank you Rowie, I'm already planning a trip back!
Welcome to Manila! Really enjoyed this video! We also did a food crawl there in Binondo and waited like an hour in Wai Ying. They have another branch though in the nearby Lucky Chinatown Mall. BTW Manila also has a Muslim Town near the Manila Golden Mosque in Quiapo and they have halal food and cuisine from Mindanao. They are quite affordable and delicious as well.
Ooh thank you for those tips! Where were your favourite food spots in Binondo?
@@ayngelina My fave was Wai Ying and Chuan Kee (minus the long lines). An underrated spot for me was Tasty Dumplings at the side of Binondo Church.
Oooh that you for this tip!
Enjoy ❤
Thank you!
wonderful ❤
Thank you! 😊
Yum the food looks so good 😋 I love pancit noodles
So good
Welcome to the philippines watching from saudi arabia❤😊
Thank you so much for watching. I’ve never been o Saudi Arabia but it’s on my list!
You ate a lot of good food. We stayed in the Makati area and also had a fun day of eating in Binondo.
I need to check your video on this 😊
That’s banana cue not banana cute.
The people that tell you to skip Manila is so misinformed. Manila has a rich history that most foreigners are surprised to learn while visiting Manila. There many churches and buildings in Manila that were built hundreds of years before the United States was founded.
It’s mostly Filipinos who were once from there. I think because when they come back home to visit they just see family and don’t see the city for exploring.
Thanks your video passtive viberations peoples all birds animals deep sleepings
You're very welcome ☺️
Welcome back balikbayan.
Thank you! I’m already planning my next trip!
Try to visit Isla de Gigantes and Boracay soon
Do you think Boracay is too crowded? Can I find good traditional Filipino food there?
@@ayngelina for good traditional Filipino Food, you can visit Iloilo city (near the islands of Boracay and Isla de Gigantes), the Gastronomical Capital of the Philippines.
Thank you! What is the weather like there in June. I want to come back but I’m afraid it will be too hot.
Bananaque...like barbecue
Yes I was being so silly not understanding it!
🥰🥰🥰🇵🇭
Thank you!
Funny I thought the same thing about some of the places sounding Spanish
A lot of people’s names are also Spanish as well.
Filipinos actually are part Indonesian. 50% of Filipinos have Indonesian DNA. They are our brothers. Had we not been colonized we could have been one nation. My language (not Tagalog) has a lot of similar words with bahasa Indonesia. We look alike too.
Oh this is fascinating thank you for commenting. Where are you from?
And yes when we were there we had so many laughs as everyone thought Alan was Filipino and he had to tell them he didn’t understand what they were saying. And so many had his face, definitely brothers.
BukoPandan drinks the best ❤
It’s a bit too sweet for me but Alan loves it!
Welcome to The Philippines! Go try to visit BGC (Bonifacio Global City) Venice Grand Canal Mall, Bonifacio Highstreet and Uptown and also The Philippine version of Las Vegas or Macau in Parañaque while there go to SM Mall of Asia, Parqal and maybe a walk in Cultural Center of The Philippines and dine in Seascape Village to end the day.
You can also visit Luneta park in Manila and go check the National Museums (National Museum of Natural History, National Museum of Fine Arts, and National Museum of Anthropology) to learn more about the Philippines. Entrances are all free btw.
Oh wow you’ve given me so many ideas. Where can I find the best food and what should I eat?
@@ayngelinaThere is a popular food night market in Tondo, Manila called Ugbo and You can also check out Legazpi Sunday Market in Makati. If you are looking for a more posh international/cosmopolitan scene you can go visit BGC (Bonifacio Global City).

What's your camera ma'an, it you don't mind?
I use the Sony zv1 mark 2 and the DJI Osmo pocket 3 😊
@7:40 I thought you were going to spit it out 😅
I really hate sweet things it’s definitely my nemesis but to be honest when I look back at this video I’m proud I said “not for me” instead of my first reaction 🤣
HELLO! WELCOME TO THE PHILIPPINES ..BY THE WAY NOT BANANA CUTE.. ITS ONLY BANANA CUE....WITH OUT T.
Thank you, I'm so embarrassed for getting it wrong?
its fine no worries @@ayngelina
Manila was a community of Hindus and Muslims living inside the place now called Intramuros. The Spanish sent five more expedition after Magellan. They landed in Cebu on 1565 then they were told that there is another community in the north bigger than Cebu. Rajah Solayman was the leader of Manila during the attack of the spanish. The Spanish conquered Manila with the help of the Cebuanos and the Spanish built Intramuros in 1572. Then the Chinese pirates came and attacked Intramuros in 1574. Martin de Goite who was responsible for conquering Manila was killed by the Chinese pirates. In 1646 the Dutch invaded Manila but they retreated because of the valiant defense of the Spanish and Filipinos. 1772 the British came and attacked Intramuros and they succeed. The Philippines was under the British rule for two years. 1898 the Americans came and defeated the Spanish. 1942 the Japanese imperial army attacked manila and we were under the Japanese rule for 3 years. 1945 the Americans liberated the Philippines. Many Filipinos have died in that small place alone. During the American liberation one hundred thousand Filipinos died in Intramuros alone.
Wow thank you so much for this information. I needed you as a tour guide when I was making this video!
Wrong info..
I get sleepy reading long comments. I think I'm gonna settle down for some shut-eye for a while. Good night.
@@piniritongoctoartzDRP On what part? Pls write it in your comment.
@@elsarlavino4327
Manila was a vibrant community of not just hindus and muslims, merchants from around the world already trading in Manila during that time. When the Spanish arrived in Luzon Visayas And Mindanao Barangay System was already the form of government. America did not defeat the Spanish, Spanish sold Philippines . Chinese pirates did not exist, China only do business and trade at that time.
it's not banana cute but bananaque . 😄 25 years is a looong time
Ok that makes way more sense like barbecue. I didn’t show this on the video but we actually went back and forth for five minutes of me trying to say the name and getting it wrong!
It's called Banana-Q ( like barbecue) not banana cute.
Oh man you have no idea how many times they said it and I tried to repeat them and then they said it again. It went on for five minutes because I’m so dumb! Bananaque makes so much more sense.
What we call pancit, you'd call chow mein.
Pancit is the yellow noodle, right?
Some of your footage looked a little like parts of Tokyo
I hope in 2024 I can finally see Tokyo
@@ayngelina it's cool, but expensive
This is why I still haven’t been 😩
And crowded... and no one speaks English 😆
Crowded I don't like but I spend half my life around people that don't speak English so that's ok by me.
and you are cute too😘 Banana cute and banana Q😉
You know that section was edited down. It was actually five minutes long of them telling me Bananacue but I just couldn’t hear anything but cute!
R u filipina ayngelina? I cant tell 😂
No I’m Canadian with a family background of Italian and Irish but I appreciate the comment as Filipinas are so lovely.
@@ayngelina oh wow.. I only assumed coz u said u were here 25 yrs ago... We need a background story now 😁❤️
Well he’s a brief one. I am from a small town of 5000 people in Canada on the Atlantic ocean. When I finished university I wanted to travel the world but I had no money. The government had international internships to give Canadians global experience and a company wanted me but asked would you like to go to the Philippines or Malaysia. I thought, aren’t they the same? So I looked up the Philippines on very slow dial up internet and saw a beach so I chose Cebu. But obviously I was shocked I wasn’t working in an office on the beach but on the 4C Jeepney route. And a couple months in I needed to go to Kuala Lumpur for work and realized oh it’s very very different. This is why the government had this program because Canadians didn’t know the world or how to work with other cultures. I made many mistakes but learned a lot.
@@ayngelina wow cool. U seem lile a lovely person... Enjoy the phils. Enjoy the beaches, the food and the culture. Take care 💙👍
Thank you! 30 days is so short we’re already planning to come back in the next few months
its bananaque not banana cute 😅 its a word coming from barbeque but its banana
I know I’m such a dummy 🤣 you know the funny thing is I went back and forth with the vendor maybe for three minutes where they kept trying to explain to me but I just wasn’t getting it!
I thought he is filipino
Everyone does! He likes it because he feels more at home. I guess some Indonesians and Filipinos have the same face!
You are in the oldestChinantown in the world..
Where do you recommend eating?
I can’t stand impatient people. You took the energy to walk there only to walk away from what you really wanted to do.
I have a rule that I won’t wait in line for food, there’s just too many places to visit and good food to eat to stand in line. I write about food for a living and I don’t understand people who wait in line for hours to eat.
I’d rather come back another time.
But also it wasn’t a waste because we really enjoyed the walk through the neighborhoods.
Leave her alone! Her money, her life, her energy, her choice!
@@lineage Leave me alone. It’s my opinion
I think it’s just because you were so rude about expressing that opinion that they felt the need to say something.
Please be kind on the internet as CZcamsrs are real people who put in so much time to create content and harsh words can hurt.
Filipinos inherid malay, chinese and hindu blood mostly. Depending on ehat part of the country your ancestry are from sometimes african
Your Indonesian has a similarity face there
Everywhere he goes people think he’s from that country but in the Philippines I saw people with his face!
Q like BBQ bananaque
That makes so much sense, thank you!
First of all thank you for your video its very informative. However about your order of colonization Spain is not the first colonizers at first the Philippines was part of Indonesia. The first colonizers were the indigenous people of Taiwan. 2nd the Malay from Malaysia, some people of Africa, the major colonizers Hindu from India came with the royal bloodlines and set up kingdom the datu a royal place set up in Tondo, as the Muslims came to the south hundreds of years before the Spanish before Spain the Philippines were always a warring each other Spain came conquered and colonized they ebolished waring states and united the whole country be a 1 governing rule. Contrary by popular belief it was not common that the Spanish inter married with the natives it seldom happened only 2% of the country inherit Spanish blood. Your not Spanish just because you have a Spanish surename. The colonizers declared the islands to be Christian so they missioned the people baptized them and gave them Spanish Christian names and thats how they got Spanish names not by birth. Like how africans were given slave names by slave owners. A Christian name in order to make them civilized so with filipinos
Thank you for taking the time to write such detailed information, I learned a lot!
