    I missed this update - great to see the Daylight up and running! You have enough length of mailine and broadness of curvature to run a nice long passenger consist like that...Cheers from chilly Melbourne.

    Hi David , glad to see that you are getting better. That’s one of my favorite locomotives in the steam era .I have one in H O scale. The history behind that train is amazing. During WW II they painted it black and called it the war baby. That was a good running session. Thanks for sharing. Have a good week. 😎😎👍

      I do like the wartime paint schemes. Before I made the plunge to N scale I had the wartime black Flying Scotsman.

    Hi David, great video buddy. I'm very happy for you, you've had some work done to you and your train, and you look a lot happier, and confident. That train ie; loco and cars look awesome! It runs so good and sounds so cool. The real life 4449 comes right past my house sometimes when it's on excursion tours, the next time it does I'll get a video and some pics just for you. Take care bud and cheers. Dave B.

    Great video. Thanks for sharing. Glad your op went well. Have you seen what the KATO Big Boy can pull? Something to add to the loco roster. Best from London.

    Thanks for taking us along on the excursion run there David, it was a lot of fun. The Daylight has always been a beautiful sight and you have put together an excellent rendition of it. Congrats on getting her running again!

    I bought a Alco PB-1 SP Daylight Kato N scale locomotive as well to help my Kato 4449 pull the daylight train as well. When I build my layout it has grades. I used SCARM to design the layout and it has my grades just under 2%. That's why I bought the B unit.

    • @nessriverrailroad1299
      @nessriverrailroad1299  Před 11 měsíci +1

      My grades are under 2% but the loco struggled on it’s own with the smaller radius combined with the grade on the extension area. It’s was fine in the rest of the layout.

      Thanks Garry,
      I love British steam but for modelling I felt North American outline gave more options.
      I does snow down here in the south eat corner every winter. We have sold pretty good snow fields. I did here that there was a forecast for snow in souther Western Australia a little while ago, that is a very rare occurrence.

      What is your minimum radius?
      Personally I prefer larger radius curves for passenger trains. For the most part the curves look fairly big.
      Also those long "rail fan" shots look great.
      I have the same train and also got the extra articulated chair car. I thought there was another two units /4 cars to make the complete consist?
      Gotta say using the B unit is a great idea.
      I am planning on modeling 1950s San Francisco - Los Angeles. And Ideally would run two of these one from each end.
      I asume the GS is more than capable of pulling the consist on the flat?

    • @nessriverrailroad1299
      @nessriverrailroad1299  Před 11 měsíci +1

      The minimum radius on the loops is 16 inches. The peninsula is about 22 inches.
