    Very engaging. Being "vintage" myself, I recall the '72 Honda SL125 at age 12/13yrs. I thrashed on that little thing for a few years. Then a '76 Honda MR175, The Good Ol' days.

      It really is surprising how good those old Japanese bikes are. Very reliable, in spite of the usual lack of maintenance. Thanks for the comment!

    I think this is the first youtube video I have watched that correctly referred to speedometer error as a percentage an not a static number. Interesting build by the way.

    I really good this all mixed. I watched your cheap bike adventure first. Was brilliant so I subscribed and never got any notifications.
    I watched your build part 2 and realised it was you. So now just watched part 1.
    All absolutely brilliant, especially when you see ppl that can't switch a wing mirror.
    50 years a mechanic so loving it, especially your attention to detail.
    Keep them coming. I will try to be more attentive.

    Just found you man! I have been collecting these old thumpers for years now. I have only ever gotten close to doing what I want with one of them, still needs a tad here and there. it is a 1975 MX400B and it;s a bad boy for sure. in my collection , I have xt250 exact color and year as yours there but it still has all the parts and runs (with a tic though) i think it just needs a valve adjusted . I have so many bikes now I have lost count, over 21 though, all old school thumpers. I had thought that after my last venture i would switch to my bikes, my last and present is old school car audio, for the last 22 years LOL. but i think the bikes will be much more fun. I have considered doing a channel as well. I probably do not have the cool demeanor you seem to have here though LOl who knows though. Bajajajajaaa! some of my stuff here is as cool as the mx- because as little as i know about fixing and rebuilding these things i do know alot about picking my buys. :0) I have an xt500! I have a 81 250 Elsinore! I have boat load of Yamaha 125's and 175's even some older school yamaha street trails and 70 Honcho, a could of 90cc van vans < 72's they are like fat tire Honchos. and I have also always had a love for the pull start minis Heald, Boonie and trail cycle. never found a Tote gote I would afford yet but I look all the time. I am just now subscribing and am number 26 thumbs up. great Video!

    Hey Todd. Thanks for the build video. I was very impressed with how far you took the XT for part 1 of the Trans Wisconsin Trail. I was even more impressed when I saw it in part 2. I would like to see the journey between the two. Thank you!

    Great video Man!!
    Audio was a bit low but maybe that was me🤔.
    Love the build. I had two Yamaha 100’s when I was a young fella back in the early 80s. Always replacing rear axles for some reason but they were dependable old bikes.
    Great content!! Truly enjoyed it!

      Hey thanks, I appreciate it! I will try to pay closer attention to audio levels. It’s sometimes tricky to know how it’ll turn out until it’s on CZcams.

    Great vid. I did the same motor transplant to my XT. What did you use for carb setup? The SR carb or XT mikuni? I’ve experimented with many carbs snd so far have decent results out of a clone PD Keihin carb. Just need to adjust the accelerator pump somehow as its ultra rich when it hits

    • @onemilemore541
      @onemilemore541  Před rokem

      I used the SR carburetor since I didn’t get a carburetor with the XT. Jetted of course for the open filter. I also made a little sheet metal baffle to help keep the fuel in the bottom of the carburetor over bumps. Not sure if that’s necessary, but it seemed to help a little. If you get a little bit too crazy over, jumps, it still falls on its face. Possibly a different issue.

      I believe that was a universal KTM-style light. The windshield was something I fabricated myself. Sold the bike last year. Thanks for the comment! 👍🏻
