I approve 💯% of everything Holy Mallam has said on here especially for someone who has experienced similar.
    1. When you are too available you are taken for granted
    2. Don’t be too nice
    3. Nobody is a saint especially the top people
    4. You have to avoid their manipulations
    5. Everyone is only out for their own gain
You can never understand how he feels until it happens to you. I pray God heals us all.

This is my story. Thank God I had the courage to leave before I sink into depression. I'm at a place where I worship God freely. Our church is a mixture of White, Black American and other races. It has been a tremendous blessing to my children and I. Never will I worship in Nigeria church anymore.

I watched this podcast with utmost attention.
Back home in Nigeria in a particular church,a popular church,we have contact with two pastors, one of them and his wife ,helped my husband to secure a lecturing job in a higher institution and the second pastor wanted to disterbilise my home.
In abroad ,attending and associating with Nigerians can be a great YOKE, holy Mallam thank God you scaled through, may God continue to be with you and your family in Jesus name.Amen.

Oh my goodness! This one hit me hard @ Holy Mallam. Manipulating people with God's name. That was how a close relative of mine came up with this kind of manipulation one day and said God told her I should quit my acting career, change my style of dressing and blah blah. I shunned her and warned her sternly never to give me any of her fake prophecies again. Meanwhile, before I started my career, I did three days dry fasting for the first time in my life, begging God to show me my purpose in life. After the fasting God gave me a strong sign which led me to my career path. She wasn't with me when I sought God's face pertaining to my purpose in life, and after some years she had the audacity to manipulate me with her fake prophecy using God's name because she knows I have high regards for God Almighty. Never allow anyone to talk you out of your destiny in the name of fake prophecies. They make it look like they dine with God on the high table, while others settle for remnants from that same high dining table 🤣🤣🤣. God is for everyone, and as long as you have a personal relationship with Him, He will always come through for you. I doff my hat to you legends @Tejubabyface and @Holy Mallam. 🎉🎉🎉🎉

This podcast and that of kofi's really hit home. And I am so glad you - Holy Mallam didn't lose salvation focus. And I like that your saying of going to church with your BB - Bible and Brain, which most of us go with just one. This interview really hit home. Let's keep praying and working towards the come back of Nigeria. 👍🏽

I am a priest, and I understand his pain due to his encounter with the pastor he so much talked about here. As a former instrumentalist turned priest, I've lived in the two worlds as an instrumentalist and as a pastor. I have faced the people and challenges in both worlds.
If you still attend a church with a pastor exuding the gifts of the spirit without the obvious accompaniment of the fruits of the Holy Spirit, run. There are a lot of pastorpreneur out there. They are good at building what seem like a physically successful church but not so much a spiritually prosperous people.

I have always been uncomfortable with religion as a child especially Abrahamic religions but I practiced it cos i didn't have a choice. The day i finally gave up religion as an adult and connected with my creator is the day I found inner peace! Yes I have challenges, failures, and issues like every Adult on earth, but I have inner peace cos I know my Creator, the God of my Ancestors (Chukwu Abiama) is in charge.

It was good to see Holly Mallam after a long period of time. We appreciate your show Teju. I just want to add that you should also interview those that are not celebrities once in a while to get their own stories about how they came to America, what they did to survive at the beginning, and how they navigated the new environment. The information from non-celeb would be of great help to those that want to leave Nigeria but are not celebrities. Thanks.

Really love the work going on here. One thing I should mention is that statistically, most of the people being interviewed on here will struggle when they migrate because their industry is a 1:99 in terms of employed to unemployed ratio even in Nigeria. That is to say most entertainers in the world are unemployed anyways and only the select few make it. So when you move to America, you automatically fall into the 99% unemployed bucket and you might be there longer than expected just because US is not your market. I can guess that if the interviewees were Software engineers, accountants, lawyers etc from Nigeria, the narrative might be slightly different.

23:10 “The covering has left them.” This ideology seems to be prevalent and I don’t really understand where we got it from and the issue is that if one is not grounded in Christ that which is projected might appear to take effect and the only reason for that is because such people are not self-aware and move internally through fear, albeit sometimes at the subliminal level, and birth that which is spoken in their experiences.
Christ said the enemy came and found nothing in ME, nothing from outside can touch the one who is grounded in Christ no matter from whom or where the projection is coming from, the issue is only how vested one is in this human experience through doubt or fear.

Don't lose yourself in any process or the issue of faith, dont try to prove any point or even be defensive. It's quite unfortunate that a lot is happening now, even in places solace should be prioritized. It's best for one to personally know and experience God genuinely. It's the only way you can know the truth and stand out and clear of a drowning crowd. Its great to serve God, but make sure it's in the right way.

The narrative that you have to leave Nigeria to either be safe, rich, or healthy is preposterous. You might delete this tweet like you always do, but I’m here to educate the feeble minds. You can live in Nigeria & have medicals in abroad, go on holidays, & still live better than anywhere else. I’ve been there done that. Security is an issue in Nigeria, but we still got our own loved ones back there. It is selfish, unreasonable, & greedy to portray the country as the worst that could ever happen to you. I think it is a failure on the part of many Nigerians who left the country for greener pastures. I think our inability to be creative & innovative & resourceful accounts for our departure. Those who left for security reasons are somehow excluded. Pastors leaving the country for whatever reasons is a mockery of what Christianity is all about. Home is where the heart is.

@@obiflex No insult whatsoever in my assertion. The mental slavery is beyond belief. Nigerians have this thick & unassailable mentality when it comes to constructive criticism. Abroad is great for a while, but no one will tell you when to run back to the motherland. Personally, regardless of naive public opinion, I still think Nigeria is the greatest country on earth.

@TheBee444 Ah, if it is the education of feeble minds that is the objective of this your ministry, you will have to type more than these few lines o. Remember that a fool and his foolishness are not easily separated? Ehen, so we would suggest at least a dozen of these types of comments back to back. We are thinking about 3 dozen should begin to hit the mark. Maybe the repetition will help these puny and weakend minds because it is only an Ọmọluabi (one of noble pedigree & character) that needs a little correction (abọ ọrọ) to get the message. Remember that all these people who have left Nigeria and who are telling their stories, usually from a vulnerable place, are - according to you- failures, selfish, unreasonable, greedy, uncreative, uninnovative and unresourceful (did we leave anything out)? Ah yes, they are mockers too! Can you imagine their temerity?! So they need to hear it properly o. Never mind all the other feeble minds who watch, enjoy, and have encouraging and nice things to say about the content and put it in the comments section here. Weak minds one and all (their gullibility is just so sickening! How can anyone watch this type of thing and praise the creators?!! Irọ o! No way). So, I don't think these few lines will cut it o. Please educate them. How dare the lazy and greedy jokers! We promise we won't delete your "tweets" (we actually thought tweets belonged on Twitter but we can understand that in the quick bid to get this your sterling nation building & life-saving opinions out, these types of mistakes are unavoidable. Or maybe it is that we don't understand the full scope of social media lingo, so consider us properly schooled. Even we will now adopt "tweet" in referring to ALL comments on ALL social media platforms).
So, let flow your pedagogical prowess. The floor is yours. This is the proper forum and MOST EFFECTIVE way to save Nigeria. I agree, and nobody can say that you are not doing your part. Bravo!

@@iamallthinsnatural1218 I disagree. Nigeria might be going through one of the worst economic crises in modern era, I think every country bounces back from a recession. Regarding people dying senselessly, I think we gotta attribute that to regional grievances. SW, SS, & the Middle belt are pretty safe haven. SE & the North are the hot spot. Until these regions get rid of IPOB:ESN in the East and Boko Haram/Islamist extremism in the North, then these things won’t go away. America is not a safe haven either. How many mass shooting we have a year. Talk about violence in Chicago, DC, Phil, & many part of the. Country. UK got knife endemic. Canada’s crime rate is at its highest. All in all, home is where you call home. Enjoy.
