They were gonna make a sequel and it was gonna show more characters that could stretch there arms,legs and hair.But it got cancelled.The only game franchise sega cares about now is only sonic.
Yeah, they had plans to make more shooting star characters to match with Ristar but it was unfortunately scrapped... They haven't forgotten about him though!! He made a cameo appearance in Sega All stars racing and have posted official art of him on their social media's every now and then

If you've been following the new Sonic game, Sonic's werewolf form has stretchy arms and platforms by swinging on enemies in some sections. There's a strong resemblance to Ristar. I think they're testing the water to some degree when it comes to stretchy arm gameplay.

Too much awesomness in one game; 10/10 And the music does the 50% of the game, for sure. Tomoko Sasaki, the music composer, even figures in the planet sonata part of the ending.. I see so many details, so much effort, even love put into this game. I'll never forget Ristar

Someone at Sega with a brain needs to realize the genius of this property and get a sequel working on the DS. The more I think about it, I think Ristar was Sega's late answer to Kirby. Ristar beats the hell out of Kirby IMO, though.

At 2:06 did you ever notice the tail? But the boss doesn't have a tail. In the Japanese version, that boss was a cat instead of a robot. It looks like they forgot to take the tail out of the credits though. Woops!

I think they might be also. The creators started working on the New Ristar game in 2006 as I mentioned before. I wonder how far along they are if it even got into delevopental stages. so far the only thing i know of is that character designs were started on.
I finished this game for the first time on my Nintendo Switch after finishing Street of Rage 2, I never realized how the Sega Genesis has so many amazing gems before, I was left wishing for a new Ristar game, too bad it never happened.

I'm sorry to dissapoint you but ristar was released after yes but it was made before they even made the sonic saga it was going to be that ristar was the mascot for saga but they decided to use sonic insted and they pulled ristar out and brought it out at the end of the sega saga. In my opinion it was the best game for the system it's been 13 years and I still am not tired of it
would be sweet if someone posted the end theme from the actual cartride onto cd/whatever just not cam version cuz the midi readers never really get it right
