Aukey Audew Tacklife are from the same company Aukey.
Thanks fot giving the important info about booster voltage reading. Mine was less than 11V once it is only 25% left
That was so helpful for me - single mum in a jam and couldn't understand the instruction booklet. THANK YOU x
I brought one of these from Amazon does what it says on the tin, but the instructions are total waste of time. Glad I saw your explanation.
We are sorry about this and will improve the instruction as soon as possible! Thanks!
I just purchased a TACKlife T8 and truly appreciate the video and how you have skipped the boring part of the manual, and went straight to the heart of the device!!!! Thank you ever so much for an excellent video, just A+ in all areas!!!!!!!!!
I just got one, really great review
Knowledgable, accurate, well-presented. Thank you.
Thank you and well done!
Extremely helpful thanks
Very helpful thanks 👍🏻
Very helpful, just bought same model for my prius ☹️
Great Explaining
Excellent video. Thank you. Jaguar XJ8.
Great for the motorcyclists in your life. Especially for the Harley Davidson family. Stuck several times with my Harley starting due to a constant drain from the built in alarm system. The red warning light is a great feature as being alone on the side of the road broke down it can warn vehicles of your presence. Charging for cell phones and other devices can be a great value, again think stranded. Great device and should be completely charged every three months or so. Also didn’t hear mention of the boost button in the instructions presented, hard to read instruction booklet, but should be used.
Yeah. And I've had several power outages at home, one lasting several hours, and the light and USB on this would come in handy. I think their website says the light lasts for 72 hours, more than enough for where I live.
thank you so very much!!
I’m si grateful for this device. It has helped me so many times to charge my dead batería due that I don’t drive my car very often. The best investment I have ever made especially in this time that nobody wants to help you out.
Thank you for this video! Directions that came with unit were of no help at all!
My T8 charges when the on/off switch is in either positions. My display shows less than yours so maybe mines a new version since I purchased it last week. Mine only shows the % blinking and IN.
Make sure the power switch is set to "ON" before you try to charge the jump starter or it won't charge.
On this unit, the On/Off switch acts like a total power disconnect.
I think the power button also toggles the 5v/9v power output
Nice explanation. I just purchased 2 batteries. One to leave in my Toyota Tundra FourWheel Camper and the other in my Cessna 206. The booklet had poor illustration and explanation of jumpstarting. Thanks.
Can the unit me either on or off, to charge it?
thanks for this. So basically, you only need to use the 'boost' function if the car doesn't start after leaving the tacklife connected to your car battery for 30 seconds or so?
The boost function essentially just overrides the automatic switching, for batteries that are truly dead. If the car battery is too flat the jumper unit cannot identify the correct connection so it won't activate on its own. You would only really need to leave it for a little while in just this scenario, so as to allow a little energizing of the car's battery before trying to start it.

Once it detects the a charge in the battery the green light would come on anyway. When you see the light doesn't come on then you know you have to use the override. Dont even need to try starting once the light doesn't come on
have you tried it on a battery that actually doesnt start the car, because i just did and it doesnt work .. same exact unit !
Do you get the green light on connecting it up? If not, use the boost button? Did you let it sit for a little while before trying?
yeah i get the green light and yeas i tried to let it charge up but didn't work , but i think i figure it out , the battery was way to low to start the car , , it starts without the battery ...so it has the power :D
thanks for the reply !
@636lover1 nope the battery was to low so it made it worse than better so I disconnected the battery started the car than connected the battery, works that way as an emergency, but not recommended
"the battery was to(o) low so it made it worse" - are you referring to the car battery being too low or the Tacklife battery pack? @@vegasromaniac
hi Craig, would you like to review our new Tacklife T8 Apex Car jump starter?
Can I use this instead of an actual car battery, will the alternator charge it. It seems a lot cheaper then buying a car battery.
No!
Just got mine today, came with 70%. Is charging now.
I checked mine the other day, I haven't charged it since this review, and the display is still showing 100% charge. Nice battery.
I just got mine today too. It came with 85%, took ten min. to get up to 86%.
@@crosbyking5665 it's a slow 1A charger... gonna take long to trickle charge it to Full
I just got one and it wouldn't jump the car. The car battery was at 10.2 volts. I hooked the cables and no green light. I hit the boost a few times and my volt gauge raised to 10.9. After doing this a few times I still never got the green light but the car went up to 10.6 finally I gave up and broke out the 5.00 harbor freight float charger and it fired up in 10 minutes! It appears the 5.00 charger is better then the 70.00 tack life. If you have a plug near your car your better off with the 5.00 harbor freight charger and or the 50.00 jump box they offer. It's lead type so you would need to charge it monthly when not using it but you'll have much better dependability
I don't trust these battery jump starters. I bought different model at Costco for $120 or so and wouldn't jump start my car. Luckily Costco accepts returns.
@@m8sm8s74 it will start my old 4 cylinder truck. Other than that it's a great phone charger lol
I hooked it up before I could turn it on it started smoking this was first time use too.
Will one of these start a v8 engine in a pickup truck?
It wouldn't start my stock 94 350 chevy.
So I'm guessing you just leave the unit off when starting up the car?
Not when starting of course, but yes, remove soon after the car starts, maybe a minute or so to make sure the car will continue running .
Hi Craig, your video is awesome! You did explain well about the jump starter in this video. I wonder if we could ask you to record a similar product introduction video in the future? PM me, please. Thanks.
what about storage of the unit? how long does it's charge last? and the 'gimmicky' lights you referred to - strong lights and/or flashing lights are very useful to signal for help when stranded on a boat.
👎🏼
Mine is not working on my corolla 2010 and is a tacklife t8 brand new 🤷♂️ yes,, charge is 100%
The instructions on the smart device say on step 5 or 6: green light & buzzing... then 30 seconds start car. What buzzing!? I didn’t get no buzzing, just a solid light.
Me too. Doesn't matter, green light means what it suggests, the starter is connected to the battery, as explained in the last half of the video.
those aren't step by step instructions..they're scenarios. that's iF you see the green light OR it's buzzing. you will hit the boost button, then you have 30 seconds to try to crank it over. boost button bypass the safety circuit temporarily. the car battery for THIS CASE was in a low state of charge, so it'll BOOST to 800A instead of the standard 500A
Can you use this to recharge a battery overnight?
no, it's meant to jump start a vehicle and charge small electronics via the usb outlets and maybe power up small things like a tire inflator with the car socket adaptor (up to 10A)
Bought on for my motorcycle just incase you get stuck out in the woods.
A life saver if your bike has no kickstart backup ability...:))
Wil it charge it also?
Charge what, your car battery? Not from flat to full but you might get enough juice out of it to start.
I bought this thinkin it was a better charger
Can this start volvo semi truck?
probably not... what's the manufacturer's CCA or CA capacity of that truck? if it's bigger than 500 to 800 CCA, it is a gamble
Hi, this is Tacklife team, How can I get in touch with you?
I'm returning mine to amazon. If a battery is below starting voltage it appears to be useless.
Anyone knows what charger it uses
it came with a 12V 1A output car charger, and the specs for the US house plug is a 15V 1A output. my specific one is intertek 5011274 class 2 power supply model CW1501000US input: 100-240V 50/60 Hz .04A max. with a date code of 2012, LoL for a "new" T8 jump pack
Mit ist das Gerät leider beim Startversuch explodiert. Gott sei Dank nur Russflecken und keine gravierenden FZG Schäden
what I don't understand is how a cigarette lighter starter is a female and the the Tacklite charger is also a female outlet.
It would have been helpful if the battery of the car you started had a dead battery. Putting it on a fully charger battery is useless for a test.
These things will not rescue you from a totally 'dead' battery that has completely shuffled off its mortal coil, has internal shorts, whatever. They basically give you a top up charge or boost that will assist a marginal battery, the sort that has recently started failing to crank engine in the cold etc. They all work the same, and whether they work at all or more a function of the specific condition of your 'flat' battery, not the booster.
Good review. The switch has to be on for charging. You're sometimes needlessly negative in your speech.

Dont buy this sh*t, not even starting a 3.2L diesel Mercedes-Benz engine
any time a company sends you a product your reviews are useless
If anyone sends me something for a review they get the facts like good or bed
