      It sucks but at the same time Justin did put himself in that position; If you have no way to pay back a debt, why ask for a loan in the first place? Of course being in there, one is going to strive to get a taste of better food from commissary so I get why he asked for loans, but $7 in there sadly is a lot of money so I somewhat understand Jojo but he could've gone about it a bit differently :/

      *I was, last time I got locked up was in this jail during the filming all of season 1 and some of this season. I did 13 months in this jail & my first 6 months I was in this exact pod 3-C until I got pulled out to become a trustee to work on the chain gang. My room was the room right to the left of JoJo's u see in this video*

    Ryan was a genius. He was given warnings... ignored the warnings... and ended up winning. The idea to swap commissaries without allowing debt or "I'll pay you back later" was brilliant.
    I think what the Sheriff really hated in Ryan was that Ryan did his own thing, and ended up being right about it.
    Honestly, he figured out how the pod works better than any other participant in any of the seasons.

      Tony and Abner were on another level. However, the thing about Ryan didn't start that slow mutation into a genuine inmate (like Tony and Abner), he remained pure Ryan from start to end... while still managing to know these pods from start to end.

    He helped him in the best way he could, by being lowkey with it. He gave the stuff to Justin not saying it is for repaying the debt. This way he keeps his toes out of the debt while still helping Justin.

      Exactly. For all JoJo and the others knew or needed to know, Ryan could have been "in debt" himself to Justin for breakfast or lunch trays, or even settling a matter from the free world. It would have been very easy for Ryan to play it off like that. Nobody needed to know that he was doing it simply to help the guy out.

    At first i thought Ryan was a "Know it all" a would eventually get into trouble. But he grew on me and stayed fine line in there and handle it great despite the sheriffs telling him not to do what he did like trading. He played it well and used his head.

    For all the people who say Justin knew that he would not be able to pay back the debt, you have probably never lived in pure survival mode. If you have been in survival mode most of your life, you barely believe there's a tomorrow, let alone that you will exist in it. You have to be fed now, you have to sleep now, you have to survive now. What's next is a complete unlikely mystery. Some call it lizard brain, others call it living in the moment. I call it conditioning. Survive now, because now is all you're guaranteed.

      Keep in mind a few things, though:
      -Justin was broke and could only afford to eat what the prison gave him
      -Justin was giving away his prison meals
      The dude was probably weak and malnourished from not eating. If you notice when they're trying to pull him into the cell, he's barely using any energy to fight back. For reference, imagine not eating for a day or 2 and see if you feel good enough to fight.

    I've been to prison and got put in a similar situation where I wanted to help the poor guy. But instead of just giving it to him, I pulled aside the "Bullies" and told them the man who owes them is working for me now to pay off his debt. I paid off his debt and he cleaned up my cell, washed my clothes etc. I respect that he handled the situation well though

    Ryan is a stand up dude. I really thought Quintin would take care of Justin when he was leaving but he disappointed me. All he was gonna do is throw his commissary stuff in the trash once he left the cell anyway. Good to see Ryan take care of Justin at the end though. I felt so bad for that kid, he was like a kicked puppy and you can tell he's had a rough life.

    Utterly SHAMEFUL that the emergency buzzer wasn’t answered…. Maybe every prison guard should be put in undercover, let them FEEL how important it is for that to be answered when threatened.

    Wow. That's pretty cool, I imagined he would talk to the bully guy and ask him what he could do to make it right, but instead he just passed dude some commissary on the down-low to pay his own debt off without inserting himself directly into the matter at all, meaning only the two of them knew what was really going on, (besides us, out here in the audience lol of course,) and the bullying was stopped.
    Very intelligent move, if y'ask me. 👍

Most of those people operate in gangs, it's not the same as being in the ring. it's not the man who doesn't know how to fight that's vulnerable, it's the man who doesn't have people watching his back that is

      Justin put himself in that situation. You do not borrow things and not pay them back what was agreed.. the guy jojo was disrespected and if he did nothing other people would try to disrespect him too.. Justin created the whole situation unfortunately. As soon as Jojo received what he was owed he did not continue to bother justin..

    Ryan played the game very well and was a good person. The way he thinks is sometimes strange but overall he played the game well. Shame the officers at all times thought Ryan was a dumbass and never listened to him.
