This is obviously crazy entertaining and sounds cool and makes you think it is really just on a spectrum of resolved/unresolved narcissism, where at one point narcissism can get hardwired into the DNA and irreversible at some point, the best example of this phenomena is the serial killer Edmund keeper, who also had a very classical psychological relationship with his dominating mother, this is because inherently we as a species at a cell level are adaptive. And evolving, our consciousness can even evolve past these points where these distinctions are obviously useless. Now I'm pretty sure nobody agrees with me but that's because you all have the IQ of peanut.

@@skydaddy2692 gee! I wonder who the narcissist is! Lol! To formulate ideas that sound intelligent doesn’t make them so! And old saying may be something you my friend need to ponder “ pain makes man think, thought make man wise and wisdom makes life bearable!” But there are so many who never learn ! Think ! Or become the later ! Life’s experience is a lesson and yes we all are different types! I am 68 years old , I’ve seen alphas , Betas , and sigmas . because of these videos I realize I am one ! A sigma ! It’s not easy at times but I am content to be! These differences Are what makes the world go round! The true God has made us what we are and it’s our responsibility to use our being to the benefit of mankind! Good will always prevail! Bad will always fail! We are seeing this in our government as I speak now! Take care ! Good luck on your journey!

This is so true . As a Sigma male , my childhood wasn't great! I was neglected, treated unfairly , my gifts were belittled and had a narcissist as a father but that didn't break me or my confidence . All along, I knew I had something unique in me , I just didn't know I was a rare male . I'm glad I discovered who I really am and even more happier that there other men like me out there 🙂

I believe my Dad was a Sigma Male. He taught me pretty much everything I know. I watched him carefully and often times imitated his actions. I wanted to be so much like him when I was little. Now that he's gone I find myself doing a lot of the things he did. As far as other famous Sigmas, most of Clint Eastwood's characters were Sigma as well as Liam Neeson. If someone would make a movie of my life one of them would have to play the part of my Dad. Honest, factual, sometimes cold, and totally blunt when speaking.

Loved the video, although there is one point that you missed... We as Sigma's always try to improve ourselves and those we find to be of value around us. I grew up in normal home with older bullies as brothers, but financially above stable. My personal view, as a person schooled in psychology, sociology and law is that, Sigmas tend to see both sides of things and have their morals and ethics dictate their situations and decisions. My penny for thoughts...

The reason we don’t open up to new people and may portray ourselves “differently” is because we meet new people with no intentions of forming new relationships. We have all we need already. We only wish to make our occasional interactions with others pleasant and without problems. None of the “getting to know you” is necessary, but there’s no need to be rude either.

Here because I had a few friends call me this and wasn't sure what it meant. I am familiar with MBTI though and am a INTJ man but do have a more intimidating appearance if I'm being honest. Alpha males have been a challenge as they are confused why I could care less to compete with them unless they anger me enough. Beta/gamma males are often suprised when im nice to them since they are used to harsh treatment by alphas. I was the kid in high school who could get along with anyone but preferred independence most of the time. It's hard being a Sigma in high school years if you are looking for women, but trust me from experience when you get into your late 20s and early 30s life gets very easy for you. The main thing is you have to be successful and choose your path early and stick to your road map, nit letting others take you off your path. Because you will be miserable in the process. And don't let others criticize you for enjoying doing things alone. I always prefer to workout alone vs having a gym partner and many guys found that odd, but to me it was a form of therapy while having music on and lifting. If you are an INTJ like myself, learn to develop your weak points (we do in fact have many) and life will seem to open itself up for you. Thank you for this video, and I do agree 100%, especially about the gamma male. The most cringe thing to a woman is the idea of transactional sex. Don't do it...

An interesting watch that popped up in my suggested after watching another video I was asked to watch.
    - Survivor of child abuse who took it as a lesson in how not to treat other people.
    - Never really fit in with any social group, but fit in enough to be part of the group.
    - Happy to wander off and do my own thing, and be content being alone.
    - Peer group pressure usually triggers "I said no to the thing, keep pushing and I will just leave and go over there".
    - Manly man things because real men! annoys the crap out of me and I don't have the energy for it lol.
    - Lots of other stuff mentioned that are mostly accurate.
    - Questions at the end for me were.. no: 0, maybe: 2, yes: the rest.
Seems the manager at the gym I go to may be correct and I may be one of these Sigma male things.

before today, I'd never heard of a "Sigma" male.. it was always been alpha / beta and I'm certainly NOT an alpha (thank god). So I'm listening to this and nearly every sigma male point ticks a box... I've never been lonely a day in my life but I like, hell LOVE, being alone. Crowds are draining.. sure I can play to one for a bit if I have to but certainly isn't something I'm going to seek out and anyone that knows me would tell you I couldn't care less about the opinions of strangers and even friends opinions are at best a point of consideration unless it is a rational logically pointed view.
Constantly thinking, constantly planning, not everything mind you.. but if it's something big.. it needs a plan A and B cause life is never kind enough for plan A to be perfect...
my sister has often said "Guilt doesn't work on him so you better come with something else or move on", she's right..
for decades I've often said of a situation or occurrence that it's not a question of if I noticed, cause I assure you I probably did, the better question is if it's something that merits a response, which it often doesn't.
And so I'm watching this vid and it's checking every box to some degree, the majority of the talking points being 100% spot on.

Feeling that no one ever put in enough time into the brain work required to accomplish the best outcome. Yes I’m a loner. Choose to have no friends, don’t need them. They get in the way with their monkey shines and silliness. I don’t mind social engagement as long as they can understand words that contain more than 3 letters. 2 or 3 others is fine but hate large groups. Too much chaos and babbling without meaningful content. I am kind to others and never dump my opinion on others unless I need to, to get a job done. Always thought I was alone in this world. My father died when I was 9 years old. As a result of growing up without a father I had problems with my self awareness for years, especially in school. I was always the quiet guy and had some unusual hobby’s and so on. This shyness and insecurity had changed over the last few years since I became a trainee in the company I’m now working for. I was lucky to find my passion pretty much straight in my first job and I absolutely love what I do and my colleagues told me I am doing a pretty good job and finally having something you can be truly passionate about was probably the most important thing to slowly build up my self awarness. I’m at that point where I just don’t give a f*ck anymore what people think of me or want to tell me if I now it’s bullshit, I’ll tell them it’s bullshit. Life gets much easier when you don’t try to please everyone you come across. People will always like you or hate you, that’s just how it is. Once I made a mistake and i wanted to inform my supervisor and standing next to him was my boss. My boss asked me if I’m stupid or something, I answered: „pretty much looks like it“. Then I left, it giving any shit. Why would I? Everyone that’s working with me knows that I’m good at the job but I am still a human and make some stupid mistakes sometimes and I’m not the kind of guy to apologise for everything I screw up because then I would apologise for being a human and hell must freeze over before I’ll start doing that.

No, I had to take the river route, examining its banks; or hold my breath for a spontaneously chosen number of steps, then add 2...then one more...hahaha...Probably the most challenging thing I did as an 11-yr old was deliver morning newpapers. Seven days a week for a few years I got up by 4 am. In the Michigan winter, I'd be wearing two of everything, and three of a couple things, as I rode my bike in the snow and wind to deliver 40+ newspapers. Bicycles in the snow...sometimes I wonder how I managed to pull it off! hahaha...kids can do anything!

The part about taking the reins on a group reminds me: I always like to say “I’ll good at filling out a room.” Meaning, I suppose, if there are alphas or extroverts filling the space I can sit back and observe adding only comments or wise cracks. On the other hand if the room is quiet and awkward I can engage people and break the ice.

One of the things that I have observed from reading various Sigma Vids, comment sections, is that people keep focusing on the Introvert aspect and say that they must be a Sigma because they themselves are Introverts.
I do not believe that Sigmas are Introverts, but are Ambiverts.
The Sigma is constantly observing the world and the interesting things going on, but unlike a computer they cannot take all that input and automatically provide an output. They need time to sort and analyze their observations and then decide an output. This is difficult to do in a group of any size (Because they are constantly providing more input.), thus the Sigma’s need for “some” alone time. Of course the Sigma can also be bombarded by to much input, thus also their need for some alone time. But, if you are always alone there is little observing of interesting things, nor are there interesting conversations being had.
I think that Bloke Box here, has done a very good job of identifying the Sigma as an Ambivert, yet people are still identifying a Sigma as an Introvert. Something that many Introverts who think they are Sigmas ignore is that the Sigma is capable of stepping forward and leading or being the focus of a group, if they feel the need or the desire to do so (Something that cannot be done by a true Introvert.).
I believe that being an Observer is a primary characteristic of a Sigma, but I also believe the ability to step forward is also a primary characteristic of a Sigma, and if you have not lead or found yourself the focus of a group, you are not yet a Sigma.

Sigma here, yep viedo is on point! Especially the disinterest in tribes and hierarchy. We often find our selves pulled into leadership or find people following us, but we really don't care for it or strive for power or dominance or respect. We just kind of have it. Moral quality is also a big driver. As for relationships, while girls always seem to be present and available and interested we generally don't find most of them compelling enough to draw us out of our more interesting life and ambitions. We want relationships and connections like anyone else but it really has to be with someone who is of genuine quality. We don't play games and have little time for anyone who can't reach up to our standards. We are self confident and rarely defeated but can become annoyed and disinterested quite quickly when others have plateaued around us or are of low personal quality. So we move on quickly always facing forward in life. Which also manifests as always looking for ways to improve our selves even if we don't have to. As far as childhood trauma, I personally don't have any but I do recognize that my experiences have shaped who I am now and (even more importantly for sigmas) have influenced who I want to become. I think that's the biggest thing for us. We have this subconscious pull in us to just become. And I think that sets us apart from all the rest.

Alpha males identity is wrapped up in the people that glorify them. The Alpha male is the head and the people that applaud the alpha are the body. In a social setting the sense of self for the alpha is to have the most attention thereby being taller. The sigma does not depend on the out of body adulation and has it within. When an alpha gets near a sigma the alpha has fear unless there is a group. Like the gang of dogs near a big dog. The woman of an alpha male also finds the sigma male attractive and the alpha knows it and hides her from him.

It's understandable that having a lot of freedom as a child may have contributed to your independence, but it's also important to recognize the importance of emotional support and connection with others. It can be challenging to ask for help, but it's a strength to recognize when we need support and to seek it out. It's never too late to work on developing healthy relationships and learning to ask for help when we need it. It can take time and effort, but it can be a valuable and rewarding process.

As Jordan Peterson said being more famous creates a greater network of people in which he can connect with anyone being widely known. A cure for feeling boxed in and not able to express your ideas, getting more connected means more influence and application for all that lonely hard work and studying. Not having outlets gets more and more dissatifying.

She said it explains so many of the things that she always found so puzzling about me. I do see quite a few similarities as well. I guess there’s some validity to the idea, although I could do without the label. In my experience, the higher the amount of ppl who show a desire to associate with a particular label, the less I actually feel that I relate to it.

  • @arnoldbirkenhager1290

Well done! Most of this feels like an enjoyably accurate description of my particular cluster of unusual personality traits. But planning meticulously? Really? That is the opposite of what I would do. Especially on holidays. Meticulously making sure I am prepared for anything? Yeah. That's the whole point. Making sure you will enjoy yourself, whatever may come your way. Trusting your instincts and abilities to adept to any situation and have a good time on the go. Good to know that at least most of my 'weird traits' seem to cluster in other people as well and it has been named. Maybe I'm just a Gamma who turns on his Alpha when faecal matter hits the fan, his Beta when things are going smooth, his Delta when he is tired and his Omega when he's... Well, I don't really understand hierarchies anyway. Maybe I'm none and/or all of the above. I have watched the whole video and took the time to respond. Seems I do care. So, that's also not very Sigma. Agh! No one is reading this TL:DR anyway. If you did, you're definitely not Alpha! ;-p

  • @pissycritter

Thanks for the video, it was very interesting. I'm trying to figure out if I'm sigma and I definitely check a lot of the sigma boxes. I imagine a world full of the ME generations trying to get even with the perceived alphas of their past and imagining themselves a sigma. I think there are some flaws in the arguments Ive read in the comments though. I think classifying sigmas as introvert is possibly wrong, because to be a leader, you have to at least be interested in other people and personalities at times, in order to understand them enough to be a leader, and you couldn't or wouldn't if you were a true introvert. The differences between sigma and alpha are very interesting to me though. A sigma seems to be an alpha male who really only differs in that he gives up the leader position of the superficial social hierarchy to go after things which prove to be more meaningful and the main characteristic of a sigma might be the way they place truth and meaning as being the most important things to obtain. That's why they have a stronger sense of morality, but i think to be a leader, you have to be interested in other humans and that is different from being an introvert. I feel like at my greatest manifestation I would be the type the so called alphas were trying to be but cant because its not in their nature. Someone comfortable enough with himself not to care what other people think. The exact opposite of the pretty boy jock captain of industry types, who has a lot of the same traits that make him popular and social abilities, but doesn't care enough about how their perceived to go after superficial goals. I suspect the true sigma was the kid in high school who would rather work on their car or computers, or other cool and interesting things and figure out how things work and learned to support themselves through their learned ability rather then the quarterback types who seem on top of the world but do everything according to how the world will view and reward them. It might sound like Im downing alpha males, but I see the two as having very similar characteristics but the Sigma cares less about what the world values and more about what they value, which often makes them be perceived as outcasts, but really they just wont go along with the crowd which they see as sheeple in search of superficiality. Sigma are probably the few that seek nothing more then finding truth and meaning and learning where the edge lies without going over. idk maybe im full of shit but i think were missing something about these mysterious sigmas and it probably has something to do with the fact their probably unable to be understood by other types of people because they don't have the same motivations of most people. I think Elon Musk is probably a very good example of the sigma type., He cares more of the idea of free speech and walking the correct path then becoming more wealthy, he cares more of improving and changing then following societal norms at all. I think the biggest sigmas in today's society would be people like Joe Rogan, and Jordan Peterson, people not able to drink the cool aid when they hear arguments that don't fly with mainstream ideology. People who would sacrifice popularity and wealth and other worldly possessions to find truth and meaning. That helps them find interest in characters they find, which could be wall street tycoons or someone who's homeless because hardly anyone can tolerate them but who have lived an incredible life. I apologize for being so long winded, but I do find this subject very interesting, and I suspect the sigma type while being the most rare, is probably the hardest for most people to understand.
