This is extremely helpful! My wife and I are turning our first floor closet into a half bathroom but we just failed our plumbing inspection because we used the wrong fitting - should have used a wye instead of a ty. It all makes sense now after watching this. Thank you!!

I appreciate that you've covered most all the different fittings. I was concerned about the sweeping wyes and the siphon effect. Something that might be helpful on your diagrams is to show the viewing direction of the fitting installed drawings on the stick diagrams.

I believe you got confused a bit, although in theory yes you do want a slope on those branches leading up to the wye T, when you add an off set like that 45 you are exceeding the fittings purpose. In other words if you had a branch glued directly to a wye you could only slope a certain amount in order to glue them together without causing a leak, therefore the wye fitting could be slightly sloped but not enough to break the plane. Picture a combo wye, if you would have used one it is still limited to how much you could rotate it. Maybe you meant to do it maybe you didn't but you created your own combo wye, that was really the problem. I hope this made sense. And for those saying that it would siphon the traps, it's really more about waste water running faster than the actual waste and the branch not being properly washed.

14:41 you mention two 45° need to be separated by 12" of pipe in order to make a 90° horizontal bend. Does the distance requirement between the two 45° change depending on pipe diameter? Or is it 12" for any dia pipe.

      I wondered the same thing.
Can't imagine on a 2" pipe there needs to be 12 inches.

on a very very large scale application, how do you plumb for far distances given the supposed curve of the earth??

Shouldn't matter since the force of gravity curves with the Earth's surface if that makes sense

Is it proper to lay the gravel bed first, then the pipes, or to lay the pipes first on earth, then the gravel bed, before pouring concrete for SOG/Flooring?
BTW, thanks for the video. I learned a lot from it. More power to you, Sir.
