Aurinkolahti (meaning "Sunny Bay") is a young and fast-growing sub-neighborhood of the East Helsinki town of Vuosaari, in Helsinki, Finland. Aurinkolahti's original name was Mustalahti ("Black Bay"), but for marketing reasons, the decision was made to update it.
The neighborhood was planned by the city of Helsinki as a residential area for high-income people, in order to balance the low-income housing in much of East Helsinki and boost the image of Vuosaari. Much of the housing which has been built there to date is upscale condominiums; the housing development includes a regional fiber-optic network, 700m of the swimming beach, and a 200-place small-craft harbor, among other amenities.
Uutela is a nature park in Vuosaari, Helsinki, Finland. It is surrounded by the sea on three sides, and as one of Helsinki's best-preserved nature parks, Uutela attracts visitors from all over the Helsinki capital area. You can get there by taking the subway to Vuosaari and then either walking or taking the bus 90K. At the end of the beach, there is a small cafe which is also the gateway of the Uutela National Park.
Vuosaari is an eastern district of Helsinki set along the Baltic Sea. It’s home to a popular golf course, and leafy parks with walking trails such as the Mustavuori Nature Preserve, along with sandy beaches like Aurinkolahti and Rastila. The area has hotels and campgrounds, plus a selection of shops and laid-back restaurants. Sweeping sea and city views can be found atop Vuosaari Peak.
