I'm a freshman in highschool. I just want to know more about veterinary medicine but thank you so much a lot of good information!
I’m in eighth grade and I have the opportunity to do an internship over the summer and I am in the same boat as you I want to learn as much as possible before going into it
You're so welcome! Thanks so much!
Same I got the opportunity to work with a vet and I’m going today and I’m a bit scared on sounding dumb so I want to at least know the basics
I am also a freshman in high school,I’ve set my mind on veterinary medicine and came here because I can’t wait till I graduate to start learning
same but im going into highschool after the summer
Jess, soon to be Dr. Cliffe- I am a veterinary professor in the US and I just wanted to say how awesome these vlogs are. You're answering questions that I myself wanted to know the answers to before starting vet school also. Wish you all the best with your education and career!!!!
Thank you so much for your support!! :)
Out of curiosity, do you teach at a college? If so, which one?
I’m in my thirties and just went back to school to be a Vet Assistant. I love how many of the comments are from young people who already know that veterinary medicine is where their hearts lie! I already know I’ll be watching your videos during my study breaks!
I've been a veterinary receptionist in Ohio (USA) for a few years now and started watching these videos out of curiosity. I'm learning so much and already understand patient charts so much better than before. It's helping me to communicate with our doctors and clients more efficiently as well! Thank you!
Thank you so much for your support!!
I'm 13 and since I was 9 I knew I wanted to be a veterinarian. After coronavirus calms down in my area, I really wish to volunteer in my local animal shelters! I am so interested and passionate about helping animals and I specifically want to study farm animals. This video is great and really helpful!
Wait I’m literally the exact same except u want to do small animals, my auntie is a vet and she brings me in to help her I’m 13 too btw :)
@@chloeoshea9788 Omg that’s so cool! Hopefully both our futures go to plan one day ;)
I'm so glad that this helped you!! :)
ah i want to work with farm animals as well! especially cows :)
literally same!! I'm 12 and After the virus I'm gonna volunteer at animal shelters! I also want to be a vet but not with any certain animals!
Hey guys! Hope you enjoy/find this helpful! Let me know if anything in is this video is incorrect or different internationally, I'm a vet student too so just willing to learn like all of you are! Thanks so much for your patience with my uploads, been busy recently 😊 xx
Actually, the vertex, the point of your head that you pointed, is craneal, not dorsal.
@@naturalspanish1049 technically not! Because when you're describing the head you use rostral and caudal - instead of cranial! Because everything on the head is cranial!
@@jesscliffee @Jess Cliffe @Jess Cliffe I probably did not explain myself correctly.
Technically everything in the head is cranial..and Is not at the same time.
If we talk about an absolute term, the face Is not part of the cranium.
If we talk about relative terms, my nose is cranial over my mouth ( Same way that both the nostrils and the eyes are rostral in a dog, but the nostrils are rostral over the eyes)
That makes the point that you touched the most cranial part of your body ( that's why it's called the craneal vertex - or the general area the craneal boveda).
Should have not said cranial though, because when taking about biped species we say superior over cranial ( so my nose would be situated superior over my mouth, but never dorsal to It).
Sorry if my explanation sounds rude. I'm not trying to be mean at all. I'm doing the best I can with my english.
Iam 11
Hey I really liked the video and thank you for your hardwork but if you dont mind me you said this is a language I dont understand in anatomy part its latin Im just curios you dont get latin with the anatomy lessons? all the techincal terms are in latin and most of them seem like english or very similar to english thats because they are originaly latin words used in english thank you and I hope you dont get me wrong
I'm a college student and have decided to major in veterinary medicine so I'm glad to learn this💗💗
I’m 16 and a sophomore in high school and all of my life, I’ve wanted to become a veterinarian but lately I’ve been thinking about not being one. Thank you so much for this video, it really helped!!
I just started in a vet clinic and this is very helpful! thank you, i love watching your videos.
I'm so glad to hear that!! Thank you :)
This was a really good recap of things I forgot to take notes of during my placements! Could you do another one on basic surgery preparation procedures and anaesthesia?
Yeah I can do that when I learn it!! Haha look forward to it in the future :)
I am a final year veterinary student from India. It's really interesting to see your videos and acquiring essential knowledge.
I’m about to be a senior next school year and will be taking pre vet, I hope I get a lot more info. I found this video to be Soo helpful so thank you. I’ve always wanted to be a vet since I was in 5th grade. These notes will help me so much when I go into college :) thank you!!
I have graduated from veterinary faculty_Afghanistan. It's really interesting to see your videos and acquiring essential knowledge.
I just wanna say I love this video! Most videos don’t include basic anatomy which is so important!! You will use it daily at a clinic and even in school.
Im a sophomore in high school and want to become a vet so these defiantly helped a lot and gave me an idea on how things will work!
Thank you so much for this! I'm starting my externship for my school and I needed this and it has made me way more confident in what I will be doing :)
I’m considering becoming a vet tech and this video is really helpful. I don’t think I have the chops to be a true veterinarian because there is no way I could do surgery, but I’d still love to help treat animals. I used to help my cats give birth as a kid and it had a profound impact on me as a person
I have been a veterinary assistant for about 5 years, and this is a fantastic video. I just got a new job, and I was looking for a video that could give me a quick refresh on stuff, and this is exactly what I needed. You did a great job explaining the most used and important info a vet assistant would need and use in a clinic. Thanks again!
just got a job as a vet tech straight from food industry, so I appreciate this video!
I’m in 10th grade currently doing (Math Pure,Physics , Life sciences and IT) I wanted to become a vet since I was 4 in Grade R. I want to specialize in ophthalmology. Your channel has been so informative and interesting, thanks for doing what you do. I hope to follow in your footsteps in the future. love from South Africa 🇿🇦 ❤️
Thank you so very much
I wish I had a teacher like you at my school! The PowerPoint is so well done and informative and the language is so easy to understand but still “sophisticated” and put together!!
Really glad you did this I start veterinary school this summer !!!
I'm in 6th grade and I love the vet carer, I hope I can make it into early college so my dream of being a vet can come to reality sooner. Thanks for the amazing tips! :) this will help me study more and have somethings clear.
i have always wanted to be a veterinarian since kindergarten and i’m now about to graduate! this video helped me a lot to tell me what i need to know so thank you! so happy to see this as something you enjoy and are good at. i was wondering if you could make more vids like this! it’d mean a lot and thank you ❤️
I just started my internship as a senior in hs, this is so helpful, ty!!
You have no idea how helpful this was!! Thank you so much, really enjoying your videos :)
I'm so glad! thank you so much!! :)
I’m 18 and going into vet nursing next year. This video is very helpful! Especially being in New Zealand aswell
Thank you! I really appreciate all the videos, they're very helpful!
At our clinic, we do saphenous draws whenever P is stressed out! Works very well. Highly recommend.
So interesting! Might have to do this myself :)
I'm starting my internship tomorrow and it's nice to have a refresh knowledge. thank you so much, this has been a great help!
Glad it was helpful! What is your internship for??
i’m only in 8th grade and have loved animals since i was little. I’ve been doing so much research to be a vet
Im a senior in high school and just turned 18 on october 28th and ever since i was a kid i was so interested in being a veterinarian and i want to find the best research i can do get a head start before going to classes and i am so desperate for information i even took notes on this video to help get a start and i came across this video and it helped me and i will be watching more from you and many other videos to feed my brain with knowledge thank you so much for taking time to answer questions and sharing information
Thank you! This has been very helpful. Your videos and experience gave me a very good idea of what to ask questions about and to learn and what to get out of shadowing! This has been immensely helpful, thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
This video is AMAZING and so super helpful, thank you 🥰
Thank you so much for this video! It was very helpful!!😁
Yup, you definitely move to lateral saphenous on dogs if you blow the Cephalics. Actually it can be preferred to use these veins if a dog is head shy or has wounds on the forelimbs etc.. In cats we use the medial rather than lateral.
Thanks for letting me know! Since making this video I have actually now seen it in practice 😄
This was ABSOLUTELY GREAT and HELPFUL thank you so much! Im starting my first semester in August and I'm super excited and nervous! Thank you again, excellent video! Best wishes!!! :)
Glad it was helpful! Thank you so much for watching :)
This video was unimaginably helpful so thank you for that!
Glad it was helpful! Thank you so much for watching!
I'm a junior in highschool, and a friend of mine asked his mother if I could shadow at her vet clinic, I figured I should have a bit of knowledge. It didn't even occur to me that there'd be special terminology... But I've got some stuff to look over now.
thank you so much!
Loved the video, I liked how you broke down the subjects without going into too much detail! I will be starting RVC for VetMed 2021 entry (worlds first vet school to be established). I can’t wait!
Thats so cool! Congratulations and good luck! Thank you :)
Hey Jess!! It's 4 months after what I had commented. Due to what you've taught me I have made it into the classes that I need to in order to put my vet dream one step further, I can't thank you enough you're a hero! I hope we could meet in the future or talk or something and I will be sure to comment every time that I have something to ask! Thanks again jess you're awesome!
Oh this is amazing, I am so glad to hear it. Thanks so much for your support
Im a first year vet student in Kosovo and this was sooo helpful.Thank you so much 💖
I'm so glad, thank you so much
This was actually so helpful in answering all the questions I was too embarrassed to ask my techs haha. I think a trick to remember VD vs DV is that whatever body part the X-rays hitting first goes first in the name.
I'm so glad!! Thank you :) Yes that is a great tip!
please make more videos like this one!!!! i enjoyed it so much
Thank you so much!! I'm so glad I could help :) So exciting for you!!
I’m 13 and I’m in grade eight I’ve always wanted to be a vet! It’s always good to be prepared. Thank you so much this helped a lot!

Very professional. I love your sharing
Thank you so much for this video, it was very helpful!
I am 13 and ever since I heard the word dog I immediately knew what I wanted to be. After years of getting used to gore I am excited to finally learn about something useful like anatomy in highschool! Me and my friend want to be the same thing so I took screenshots of your presentation and I’m sending them to him! Super excited to finally start learning and using appropriate terminology ❤
I’m studying for my RVC (Royal Veterinary College - UK) interview the coming Wednesday and this is so useful thank you so much!!
Omg goodluck!! I'd love to go there :)

i am 12 years old and since I was 4 I knew I wanted to be a vet I live in a farm full of animals. and I love your videos, I also experience veterinary help with all the vets coming in the farm. thank you I love your videos.
I’m a freshman, homeschooled. I’ve been wanting to be a vet since I was 5-6 years old, and it’s still my dream to be one. I want to learn as early as I can so I won’t be as clueless during my college years and veterinary medicine school. I want to study veterinary medicine as much as I can on my free time ☺️✨
Please post more of this kind of stuff!
This is such a helpful video!!!!! Especially the radiograph part. When I help techs rn, I literally have no idea what they are talking about and just hold the body parts they tell me to 😂
I'm so glad I could help! I was like that too :)
loved this video!!! can already tell that positions are going to haunt me in vet school too 🤯
I'm so happy!! Haha yes can be super confusing!
This was so helpful thank you, currently on placement and needed a quick refresher ☺️

As a Brazilian vet student and a Portuguese speaker a lot of these medical/biological terms are really easy for us because they´re all from Latin, so as Portuguese hahaha I love your videos, keep up the good work!

Thank you so much!! You're so kind
@@jesscliffee 🤗🤗❤❤
I'm a rad tech student in my senior year but I know I want to go to vet school once I get my footing down. It's awesome to see just how much overlaps from human medicine (and radiology) to vetenarian medicine. We call VDs AP projections (anterior-posterior) and DVs PA (posterior-anterior).
Do you want to be a vet tech? Or would you stay as a rad tech?
Thank you for your MV from Cambodia
I'm 12 and turning 13 in a phew months, I've known my whole life I wanted to be a vet. Its funny, I wrote this all down... I cant wait to volunteer at shelters and my uncles pet store, lots of animals come in there everyday he has lots of pets there, so its super fun and exiting !

oh my goodness i am so thankful to have found your channel. i want to go into vet school but idk how i will do with the surgical procedures. do you have any advice?
Am a homeschool high schooler this year starting my freshman year. I deal with horses 🐎 and I also deal with dogs 🐕 helping them find good homes. I want to be a vet and I just want to get all the experience I need. I love working with live stock animals. This was the perfect video to set me on the right track. I wish there was more for me to do . I starting keeping a note book and writing down all sickness every animal can get . Right now am focusing on horses 🐎.
Hi! Wow this is so cool!! Goodluck, I wish you the best - sounds like you're already doing amazing things :)
Love ur videos keep shining 🌟
