It is sad when those who have been there "forever" are suddenly gone. First it is the grand (or great-grand) parents, then the parents. A month ago I lost my second oldest brother. I still feel the same as I did when I was 20 (well, except for the knees ...) but I think that I need a new mirror! "We are a short time happy and a long time still". Imagine how we must seem immortal to the wee dogs!
Its so true Stephen, its really been a horrid time of late, I know we're all looking forward to 2024 now

We just got back to Mercia Marina, been here since September and it is a lovely Marina to live on and the staff are so welcoming. Pleased you had a nice time maybe meet for coffee next time you are here.

I only live a short distance away and go there for a morning out

hi chugabug crew, so glad you enjoyed our home (sorry Mercia Marina). we could see you from our boat, although never saw you .we decided to call it our home was because of everything you mentioned . Yes we are 'trapped' by rivers in both directions if they decide to flood, but Shardlow or Burton are a great trip out. all the best and have a merry christmas
I hope you don't mind me replying to you. So many people have recommended Mercia to me. I called this morning to talk about winter moorings as it ticks so many of boxes. I think I'll pop in for a wander before I drop into Crick in May! Claire x

Its a fantastic marina and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending it to anyone and you have Willington a short walk away too

I was originally going to live at Mercia Marina after my Husband passed away suddenly last June, but have moored in Overwater Marina near Audlem instead.
Hi Wendy, Overwater is wonderful and is at the top of the list with Mercia for us. Such a lovely marina with Audlem so close too
Hi Wendy. Firstly, I'm so sorry your loss. I hope you don't mind me jumping in & asking why you chose Overwater over Mercia. I'm thinking about a winter mooring & people have recommended both. Thank you! X
@@DreamyDrifter...and_away... I didn’t make it to check out Mercia in the car but chose Overwater as people kept saying Mercia was by the busy A38 and could be very noisy and didn’t feel so secure. Not my opinion as I never visited the place. Overwater is safe, quiet and the boating community are really friendly and helpful.

We're not really marina people but Mercia & Overwater would be at the top of our list

Fabulous vlog Gary. We have our boat moored at Mercia Marina and are there most weekends. It's a great place to be.
The widebeam you spotted (Tardis) has been moored at Willington since, at least, July. I'm not sure why?

Hi All, I think you have found Utopia in Mercia Marina. It comes at a a stiff price I believe?
It was VERY reasonable really. I was paying £300 less about 3yrs ago at a marina whose bar and cafe only opened when they felt like it. For what you pay I really think its great value for money matey... thank you so much for your very kind donation too, its very much appreciated
