fun little fact, the novels have actually had a villain speculate that the doctor gets so many lucky breaks because he's literally bending probability and FORCES coincidences to happen.
and one more cool thing about the tardis? it's so iconic that the bbc actually owns the legal rights to the image of a blue police box now.
but if you want to know more about regenerating, and the budget behind the show... check out bbc's "an adventure in space and time"

This is actually BY FAR the biggest stomp in Death Battle history. The Doctor was HEAVILY nerfed in this episode so that it appears as if Rick had even a smidge of a chance. Novels and audio stories specifically give Doctor some HUUUUUUGE buffs, and all of those are canon, so.
My favorite thing in Doctor's arsenal is limitless prep time he can just give himself randomly, also known as Bootstrap Paradox. Now of course this concept exists in the show, but in the audio story Death in the Family, The Doctor tricks Elder Gods, gives himself infinite prep time, nullifies their power, turns them into mortals and traps them in a loop. Keep in mind, Elder Gods are so beyond reality that they literally play games out of cosmic celestial planes in the Board, and The Doctor did that shit to them.
Also one of my favorite instances of this was Doctor countering and nullifying toon force by just manipulating it with his mind. He essentially is capable of turning Bugs Bunny into a regular rabbit

It does subtly show just how outmatched Rick is with the fact that the Doctor starts out basically ignoring him, and is basically treating the fight as a game most of the time until the multiple Ricks show up. He fought Rick with a spoon, quipping the whole time, and that's pretty in-character for him.

They do the special effects like that on purpose to keep with the nostalgia of the Doctor, they have more than enough money to make it way better but they don't.

13:53 i would have to dissgree with that particular example. Those original cybermen were the result of people replacing themselves with anything they could get their hands on. They are meant to look slapped together and i think the fact you can tell there's a person under there somewhere is really effective and creepy. The low budget worked in its favour that time at least

  • @MrChava54
    @MrChava54 Před 4 měsíci +10

Rick has said or acted consistently that he doesn't care for his family like a normal person does, putting their lives in danger or implying they are replaceable in practically every single sense. That was the whole point of his ending conversation with his daughter in the episode ABC's of Beth. The latest episode Fear No Mort dives deeply into this idea. That's what Morty's greatest fear was, Rick not caring if anything happened to Morty. And that's only two of many examples. Even if he was talking about "romantic love" in that moment, the quote still represents his love for his family being there, but still being, at the same time, really shaky and partially toxic. He still loves his family, but his big brain keeps getting in the way. He wants to think and act like nothing matters, but he can't escape the connections he makes being with people. Don't forget, he enjoyed partying with Unity without any consequences, but still felt heart-broken to the point of un-aliving himself when she broke up with him. It's the same kind of problem with his family. He's getting better VERY slowly, as his therapist says in Air Force Wong, but he still struggles with using both his brain and heart at the same time.
So no, they are not misrepresenting him in any sense. They're right on the money, in fact.

My top 5 favourite Death Battles (all of them are 3D animated)
5: Sauron VS Lich King (Lord of the Rings VS World of Warcraft)
I really didn’t know how this one was going to play out at first, I wasn’t a fan of either franchise and from what little I knew of Sauron, he doesn’t have all that much screen time in his own movie series, but this came out looking pretty awesome, and I ended up wanting to see more of this genre in death battle
4: All Might VS Might Guy (My Hero Academia VS Naruto)
I don’t watch all that much anime in general, but this is one of the few death battles that almost made me cry, and the music track they made for the fight was not only inspirational, it is so catchy that it is now stuck in my head for the rest of my life
3: Balrog VS TJ Combo (Street Fighter VS Killer Instinct)
I went into this one knowing nothing about either of them, and came out of it wanting to learn how to box
2: Optimus Prime VS Gundam RX-78-2 (Transformers VS Gundam)
This one I actually had a connection to as I was getting really into Transformers at the time, and not only was the animation smooth, but the music track they composed for the fight hits you right in the nostalgia, I don’t know if your a fan of 80’s style music, but if you are then this is something you NEED to check out
1: Galactus VS Unicron (Marvel VS Transformers)
This one is known by many names. “The battle of the planet eaters.” “The battle that - no matter who wins - we lose.” “The number 1 most requested matchup in Death Battle history.” What more needs to be said?

17:47 Bro, The Ninth Doctor before regeneration said "It`s a lottery, I could have 2 heads or none, you never know what`s next" or something like that, I don`t remember quote word by word. That means, Time Lords can be theoretically ANY life form, could become a zygon, could a sontaran, et cetera, one can argue, that theoretically "Dr. Hooves" can be potentially canonized. It`s just easier and cheaper to have The Doctor being a human-looking, without makeup(like green or purple skin) and so on.

i'm pretty sure that the Doctor said he has the patent on the Sonic Screwdriver.

    • @ninjaninja1720
      @ninjaninja1720 Před 4 měsíci +1

Well, sonic tech is not exclusive to the Doctor.
The Paternoster Gang all have sonic tech. (Deep Breath)
Cofelia of the Adipose had a sonic pen.
      (Partners in Crime)
Amy Pond built a sonic screwdriver by herself. (The girl who waited)
Jack Harkness's Sonic Blaster (The Doctor Dances)
As well as similar devices like the Masters Laser screwdriver, the laser spanner that gets mentioned by the doctor, laser saws and whatnot. So both unconventional sonic and laser tech is available to others outside of timelords.
The Doctor is also a prolific Liar especially when it comes to information about himself.
However we can conclude, that the doctor at the very least, has improved on the original design of sonic tech. All the sonics have the same software, he just upgrades it and gives it a new case.
I think the Doctor did not invent the sonic tech, but simply improved it and got creative with its use, implementing it into a screwdriver, cane, sunglasses, lipstick and more. He makes them his own by customizing and upgrading them.

a bit old of a video but to correct you. Rick is based on Doc Brown from Back to the future, both Rick and Morty come originally from a parody animation of Back to the Future called "The Real Animated Adventures of Doc and Mharti" and then picked up and renamed Rick and Morty

yeah Doctor Who might of had Cheesy special effects but a fun fact about the 60's doctor who the crew they had to make everything themselves because they had only 2k as a budget so they had to deal with what they had and my goodness it ended up working out because its had 60 long years of episodes and of course Disney ended up buying it and made it worse like how they did with Star Wars but at least with Star Wars Dave Filoni ended up bringing back what Star Wars is Doctor who was already having a downfall but of course Disney had to make it worse.

When I first got into it Matt Smith was the current Doctor. I really liked his high energy Doctor.
Amy and Rory are also my favorite companions.
I really enjoyed how their story arcs intersect with the Doctor and River.
Due to this, Matt Smith's doctor has a special place in my heart. He's the one that got me into it and made me want to go back and see the other versions.
That being said, I 100% understand why Tennant is the fan favorite. He really is the "face" of the doctor for the "New Who" era. %
The episode where they interact with each other was great. (Day of the Doctor)
