    People prefer speaking english because it's easy. We have more than 76 languages.
    A child from a tribe outside Buganda kingdom will be able to take command in 3-4 language by the age of three.
    Personally I speak 7 languages only fluent in three

      I actually know of a lot of black Americans who live in other African countries... But there are quite a few of us who still think Ghana and South Africa are the only places to go. I haven't been to either yet but still plan to go.
      It's so good for us to get exposed to other parts of the continent that we don't hear about so that we can squash the myths and beliefs that are out there. Thank you for watching! Be blessed!

      Well, you came a lil' late, but at the same time I was ready to shut down the "CZcams Underdogs" FB group, it wasn't a lot of activity and the passion to get people to BE active wasn't there...I would've put in tooooo much time and energy without lil' to no reciprocity, so yeah...BUT...folks can still use the hashtag, I'll make some sort of an announcement about the defunct group, it is what it is, but it doesn't stop me from supporting our own small-time Y.T. community. :)

    If you haven't rode on a boda boda then u haven't fully experienced uganda! don't ride the boda boda in the city though - it dangerous with all the traffic. but u can do so in the quiet suburbs. Try the food too, some can really be delicious. Also buy yourself a traditional African Print dress and head scarf as a souvenir. I think you'd look like a Queen in them African dresses. It's refreshing seeing an African American in Africa. Most Americans enjoying Africa are not African American if u know what I mean. have fun :)

    • @Shethrivesnow
      @Shethrivesnow  Před 8 lety

      Hey there. Thank you for your comment. Yes, I've rode on a boda boda several times... More than I'd like to admit. I'm not really comfortable with the whole idea but hey, it's the quickest fix. I've also been in matatus. I love the local food here and eat it all the time. So, my experiences are much more than the average joe. When I move to a place, I want to become totally immersed in the culture. Kampala is an interesting place and I'm learning a lot. Are you from kampala?

      +Ms. Black Expat Hi there, it's good to hear you're enjoying yourself. Some people I've met think uganda is dangerous and mired in war or something which I find really silly. It's such a peaceful country. Yes, I'm from Uganda and I think it's a beautiful place though that seems like I'm biased :)

I hope that you will continue to follow my journey, both on You Tube and on the blog!

    I am AA have been dating African women since 2012. I would love an African American woman who was self-conscious enough to move to Africa. It is generally a special kind of AA women to is self aware who moves to Africa. My problem is not per se with African American women, it is the immersion in feminist dogma is is another form of WS which i find unattractive.

    yes ,,everything you said about Kampala is true ,,,but I'm frustrated now I have people compare me to white people ,,I'm african American ,my friends here said cause they see me as fragile,,,not me !!!! I feel sterotyped,,my american accent maybe hard to understand also,,maybe when they hear me they think White! I'm hoping in time the sterotype of being American will fade

Either way, I'm so glad you are there and I can link you with tons of people. Your friends-Are they Ugandan? What side of town are you on? Which day did you arrive? I just missed you!!! Now, did you move or is this an extended visit?

      Trust me once you speak the local language and understand the culture. They will no longer call you mzungu. They are not trying to offend you also. It is just a title that south east Africans calls someone who is 'white' or 'acts white'.

    • @historiayetu1665
      @historiayetu1665 Před 3 lety

      I am Kenyan i know how it feels. Coz i have family members who were raised mostly in Europe or US when they come back to Kenya they are called Mzungu.. Mzungu doesn't imply just race. A black person can be mzungu if he /she doesn't speak the local language or is detarched from the culture. Or if he acts foreign/European. It is the same in Latin America. Black Americans are called 'gringo' in latin America. Gringo originally meant white but later implied to anyone not culturally latino especially Americans and Europeans. Even black people from US or UK are called gringo same with white people . But Africans /carribeans they call us moreno/morena/negro or Africano(all not derragotive) but never gringo. I guess it is just behavioral.
