    • @midnight347
      @midnight347 Před rokem +1

      @@rockodashpr the 3v isn't "trash" it's a pretty good engine especially for a nearly 20 year old sohc 4.6. People compare it to newer coyotes and shit on it because it isn't as good but it's much older, lower compression, lower rpm, less displacement, sohc vs dohc, less tech overall, trans isn't as good etc. Why do you think it's "trash" because that's what the internet says? Lol. Not everyone can afford 10k dollars for a coyote swap and 20k dollars for a blown coyote swap and t56 magnum. You could have a 3v doing 500 wheel for 5-6k all in reliably its all relative. You could have the engine and trans built and still have a decent amount less money in it. 3v cost alot less. The cars that have them cost less and the engine itself costs less. You cannot compare it to a newer more tech heavy and more expensive. I just get tired or people dogging on 3v. They're good engines and held their own in their day. I have an 07 gt500 with a gen3r doing 750 rwhp w stock headers on a stock fuel system with 95# injectors and twin pump boosters. I'm a 4v guy but people shit on the 3v too much imo. It's much more affordable it's all relative.

    Ive read and heard that the t56 magnum is more like a tr6060 than it is the t56 in the 03-04 cobra and other older t56 models. The 6060 is also a badass trans and one of the big reasons i wanted a gt500 vs a coyote car (also prefer the sound and character of it...its just different lol). I think it is remote too but the aftermarket mgw shifter my car has in it was designed to make it feel like a "top loader" style like what youre talking about in the video. It must work because this is the only mustang ive had out of 8 total that had a remote mounted shifter the rest were 04 and back top loader style and i cant really tell any difference in the shift feel its very solid direct and notchy just like the t45 and tr3650 and older t5 trans i drove in my past mustangs. Never drove my gt500 with stock shifter it already had the mgw and an rst twin disc so shift feel is amazing on it. Only other 05 up car ive driven was an 11 5.0 it was a test drive didn't get to dog it real hard the salseman was with me lol...outside of that i have no experience with the remote shifters so i dont got much to base it on all i can say is the feel feels like my old transmissions i was used to prior to this. Awesome video. A magnum is a good idea in a coyote car. You can also do a built 3650 trans (5 speed) if you wanna save a little cash. Calimer does built mt82s for like 1800 which is also a good deal...but really i beleive id look for a magnum because of the top loader shifter alone not to mention its a beast of a trans. I wonder if it would be possible to swap the entire dash and gauge assembly from an 11-14 car since theyre still the same chassis and came stock with a coyote...then you could have a morw updated look that would be cool.

    • @midnight347
      @midnight347 Před rokem

      Of course it can handle that power guys were making this power in early s197s before coyotes even existed. It's no different than later s197 especially once it's upgraded as good as this one is. It's just as structurally sound as a 13-14 gt500 prob way more so than a stock one since it's so nicely modified. Guys were making 800 wheel in 07-09 gt500s back then and even with the 3v platform with built motors and transmissions. You're underestimating what wheels and tires, brakes, suspension mods and chassis mods do for a car. Totally transforms it just as much as the power itself does.

      To answer your question we use the original 3V AC system with a bracket from power by the hour. Google them. You can power it with power from the blower motor. It has nothing to do with what control pack you have. Also as a side note dont run the gen 2 control pack with a gen 1 engine unless you install the gen 2 cams and phasers. The reason there are two control packs is mostly because of the cams, not because of the year of the short block. Thanks.
