Water isn't wet, students. I have to agree with Problem Child for this one. *sighs in I dont get paid enough for this*
WATER IS WET, SENSEI!!!!!
*sighs in I’m surrounded by people with almost no braincells* water isnt wet, but it can make other things wet. Water doesn’t have a texture, it adds texture to other things that have a physical shape.
Water is touched by rain and water touches orhe body's of water so water is wet
@@marlinmoseberry573 rain = water. It’s just adding more water into water. Think of it like this -
Indeed you don’t get paid enough to deal with a whole bunch of problem children sensei

should do the "are you a sociopath? by danplan" too XD with those three crackheads again but deku as jay because its just so canon for him 😂

"Water isn't wet"
Water makes things wet like if water gets on a piece of paper it is now classified as wet therefore water itself cannot be wet
@@magicmushroom9426 learn to spell molecule first. Second, you can’t add another water molecule to water to make it wet. Water molecules make things wet by encasing the original molecules in water molecules. You can’t encase water molecules with water molecules, they would just “combine” to increase the volume of water.
@@magicmushroom9426 sorry, forgot you can’t read
there's dry water so the water is wet *i rest my case*

Out of all, I really love how Aoyama knew the '4th wall' 😂
Personally I think water isn't wet itself but this made my head hurt and now I'm completely confused :
water isnt wet tho so why it hurt your head
I'm more confused than denki, I believe Ive lost more than 75% of my braincells watching this.

Google take the most popular site but if you do some digging scientists are not sure if water is wet or not
"Air itself is not dry"
My man has clearly never been to a desert....
But air will always have water vapour wherever the place on earth
Air isn't dry. In a desert, there aren't enough water molecules in the air, and hence less moisture, which is why the overall climate is dry. Air isn't dry or wet . It's air.
Air itself its not dry its the sun that makes air in the desert to hot.
And you clearly weren't near the Amazon river

Bakugo/Stephen only lost this argument because he was dumb as well...
Water isn't wet by itself, but it makes other materials wet when it sticks to the surface of them. Enjoy
NO!! Water IS wet because everything that touches water gets wet, AN WATER IS IN CONSTANT TOUCH WITH IT SELF.
Something gets wet when the particles of water (H2O) attach themselves to it. So, technically, since water particles are constantly attached to each other (because if not it wouldn't make water) water is wet.
If you evaporate water it stops being wet because the particles separate and, eventually, it ends up being part of the air.
/\
@@NohaGames18 HUH?! THATS LITERALLY EXACTLY WHAT WAS SAID IN THE VIDEO AND CAN BE DEBUNKED WITH THE EXACT SAME WORDS! WATER ITSELF CANNOT ADD VALUE TO ITSELF!
Water is NOT wet. Sure the particles are touching but if you add something that's not wet to something else that's not wet it is still not going to be wet.
according to google
'Since the word wet is defined as being saturated with a substance, it is impossible for water to be wet. Water can saturate things and can also be saturated by other substances, but it is impossible for it to be wet.'
I totally agree
Well, you see, the definition of wet, is when somthing solid, is touched, or covered, by liquid, and then is therefore wet. Therefore, the liquid itself cannot be considered wet.

There is a mixture called "dry water" that exists. However I don't think anyone would call it water anymore, so I guess water can't be wet, so it therefore can't be dry? I'm on the side that water isn't wet, but this fight is confusing anyways 😂
Koda this whole time is just “Water is not wet-“
I decided to watch this in science class and now my few remaining braincells are all gone. 😔
Okay, you can kind of see the tactic Stephen went for here, by using what Daniel said and reversing it to make Daniel have to repeat his argument as Stephen goes forward in order to get out more information. Water is not wet. If you put water into water, it doesn't add a different substance that could get wet, therefore it isn't wet. You can add things to it to make it wet on that thing, but most liquids don't apply, unlike oil which doesn't mix with water. Other liquids that do would just be considered that liquid diluted in water which would not be wet. However, solids can be added into water and made wet. Water added into water only adds more to itself, so it would just be more water.
What
I learned this fact a little bit ago, and I agree with Midoriya, water itself is not wet, just anything it gets on! Like if you were to shower, your body would become wet because the water would stick to you. In a way, water is a completely different object, for instance, water isn't a solid unless it's frozen, and our bodies are like solid objects even though it contains multiple states of matter! I hope this helped!😅
This audio makes me wanna go back in time a few years so danplan is still a thing ;-;
Still a thing 😌
I can imagine Todoroki in the corner wearing those meme glasses while the mass bickers over themselves. Awesome
I wasn’t even paying attention I was just eating blueberries and listening and I still SOMEHOW lost brain cells. So, my conclusion is, wtf.
When I just approve of Jiro's "What about the nicknames?" as well as Ochaco's "I'm staying out of this", just because they're my two favourite characters (along with Dark Shadow but Tokoyami never gives Dark Shadow a chance with the phone)
Meanwhile I'm thinking: Are we counting ice as water? Would that change anything?
That would mean that water cannot be wet, but can be dry.
can we talk about todoroki’s name being “happy todo”, i find that adorable 😭😭😭

i love it
To the 2-6 people out there who thinks water is wet your wrong🙃😃. For example take two dry towels and put them on top of each other, the towel can not be anymore dry because they are the same.💅🙄
for thoses who are curious , here's google awnser : Liquid water is not itself wet, but can make other solid materials wet. Wetness is the ability of a liquid to adhere to the surface of a solid, so when we say that something is wet, we mean that the liquid is sticking to the surface of a material.
I googled it and it said water is not wet,Wetness is a ability of liquid to adhere to the surface of a solid
Just by listening to them debat this I am loosing BRAIN CELLS
This debate is more losing brain cell than the which orange came first the fruit or the color
now i’m questioning if water is wet
Air humidity... air can be wet and dry, air itself doesn’t hold a significant enough amount of water to be felt and considered wet, so in a general sense, it it dry. Being wet doesn’t have to be in the tense that water can become more wet, it’s the water itself that is wet. Wet objects can make other objects wet, you dry your wet hair with a towel, the towel will become wet, it’s common sense. Water is not the only thing to make things wet either, especially when you think of wet as a textural term. If you put your hand in a bucket of water, it would feel wet. Water is an object, and it acts as it’s own catalyst to make things wet. Therefore, water is wet in every term.
Liquid water is not itself wet, but can make other solid materials wet. Wetness is the ability of a liquid to adhere to the surface of a solid, so when we say that something is wet, we mean that the liquid is sticking to the surface of a material. Whether an object is wet or dry depends on a balance between cohesive and adhesive forces.
My head hurts too much to think about this :(
Hiii you should tho a part two
I’m not still crying about Dan plan I swear I’m not still crying about Danplan
OKAY I AM STILL CRYING OVER DANPLAN
Water isn’t wet, it is wetness itself, cuz the ‘wet’ is just extremely small amounts of water on things.
Cohesive forces are attractive forces within the liquid that cause the molecules in the liquid to prefer to stick together. Cohesive forces are also responsible for surface tension. If the cohesive forces are very strong, then the liquid molecules really like to stay close together and they won't spread out on the surface of an object very much. On the contrary, adhesive forces are the attractive forces between the liquid and the surface of the material. If the adhesive forces are strong, then the liquid will try and spread out onto the surface as much as possible. So how wet a surface is depends on the balance between these two forces. If the adhesive forces (liquid-solid) are bigger than the cohesive forces (liquid-liquid), we say the material becomes wet, and the liquid tends to spread out to maximize contact with the surface. On the other hand, if the adhesive forces (liquid-solid) are smaller than the cohesive forces (liquid-liquid), we say the material is dry, and the liquid tends to bead-up into a spherical drop and tries to minimize the contact with the surface.
Water actually has pretty high cohesive forces due to hydrogen bonding, and so is not as good at wetting surfaces as some liquids such as acetone or alcohols. However, water does wet certain surfaces like glass for example. Adding detergents can make water better at wetting by lowering the cohesive forces . Water resistant materials such as Gore-tex fabric is made of material that is hydrophobic (water repellent) and so the cohesive forces within the water (liquid-liquid) are much stronger than the adhesive force (liquid-solid) and water tends to bead-up on the outside of the material and you stay dry.
Answer 2:
To answer this question, we need to define the term "wet." If we define "wet" as the condition of a liquid sticking to a solid surface, such as water wetting our skin, then we cannot say that water is wet by itself, because it takes a liquid AND a solid to define the term "wet."
If we define "wet" as a sensation that we get when a liquid comes in contact with us, then yes, water is wet to us.
If we define "wet" as "made of liquid or moisture", then water is definitely wet because it is made of liquid, and in this sense, all liquids are wet because they are all made of liquids. I think that this is a case of a word being useful only in appropriate contexts.

Water isn't wet by itself, but it makes other materials wet when it sticks to the surface of them. There for water isn’t wet :)
Damn I watched this video 10 months ago and now I’ve just rewatched it lol
My brain hurts from this ;-;

Most scientists define wetness as a liquid's ability to maintain contact with a solid surface, meaning that water itself is not wet, but can make other sensation. But if you define wet as 'made of liquid or moisture', as some do, then water and all other liquids can be considered wet.
That's the power of google❤😂
What if it’s neither? When your body or any object touches water, the water droplets stay on top of that thing rather then soaking in, and then it just runs off the person. And it just makes you wet so it’s not really wet itself. BUT objects made of things like cloth and cotton can absorb the water making the object actually wet. When you drink water it’s just stored in your stomach then soon taken out, and you can’t feel it. It’s just making your insides wet. So water is a chemical no mortal is able to physically touch nor store within themselves, but certain objects can, their for proving that water is neither wet or “dry” as one might say.
WATER IS WET🗣 Sorry Mido
Water is wet because it’s like your saying a rock can make a tree wet
