I just replaced one of my LCD's and this video helped a lot! I will say that you don't actually have to remove the plastic film covering the LCDs. I had forgotten about that step and didn't realize until later that it was still on.

VERY IMPORTANT!!!! DO NOT USE JUST YOUR FINGERS to remove the hot glue as shown at 4:57. Doing so can break the locking tab that keeps the flex circuit in place and clamped down against the contacts, which is what happened to me when following this. Instead, CAREFULLY use an exacto blade to remove the adhesive. Once that tab breaks, the only correct fix requires you to unsolder that connector from the circuit card.

Gerry - question if you don't mind: I've got a Helix Rack Control that got rained on at a gig yesterday. This morning one of the strips wasn't displaying, though I was able to get it running again by blasting some electronics cleaner on the connector where the ribbon cable plugs into the PCB and flushing the moisture out. As of right now all of the strips are still working but a few of them still have a bit of visible moisture under the screen. I took the housing apart and removed the screws from the PCB, but there is still something (seemingly much sturdier than adhesive) holding it in place - it isn't budging and I'm reluctant to pull on it any harder than I already have. Any thoughts?
For now I'm just going to leave the unit powered on and let it sit for a while, see if the moisture eventually dries up (I don't think there's enough air getting in there for that to happen, but who knows). Thanks!
Oh no, I'm sorry about rain getting on your gear! Hmm, it sounds like the moister might have gotten into the actual Scribble Strip LCD and you might have to replace the actual LCD itself. I can't confirm if certain Helix Controllers are built differently depending on when they were built, but I doubt that they are. In my video I showcase step-by-step on how to take it apart, just go slowly and be sure to follow every step. @@GerryTrevino no worries. Leaving the back off and the Control powered on for several hours seems to have worked - moisture is gone.

@@GerryTrevino hey Gerry! Thanks for the reply! I actually ended up just leaving it alone because I have the plate cover protecting the entire board so it’s really only cosmetic, I’ve had my floor unit for awhile now and haven’t had any issues.
