Are we going to ignore how cursed that field is lol
Got a kinda similar board like that and I got Evenly Matched cause he has battle fader, then removed it with Droplet
Average D-Link Board
@@D-vb i wished easiest board to break
@@mercmcnasty193what makes this board kind of hard is the fact angel is on the field that’s if he used light and dark
@@ayham613 not any dark ruler no more books or even imperm can handle him lol shit even kaijus
The 2 phrases: "Entering battle phase" with nothing on board and "end of battle phase". Will always fill players with existential dread.
"You're banishing my whole field?!" No my friend, YOU'RE banishing your whole field
Went up against a blackwing player and they chained Shangra to pop evenly and scooped after they learned how that interaction works
I have also been in a similar situation (˃̣̣̥▽˂̣̣̥)
Ah, the classic “Why MST no negate”
@@ThunderFireblazewhy game bug.
Oh so did this make it so that Evenly wasn't on the field when it resolved so they had to banish their entire field leaving nothing as opposed to leaving 1 card?
@@BBGunRenegade yes, I often see new players chaining something like MST to Evenly Matched which makes you have 0 cards on the field
I love how a valid answer to the problem of "how do I get rid of an invincible monster" is that the player itself isn't immune to card effects lmao.
Something something reading problems
Your opponent has op monsters that can't even be targeted by anything? Welp target your opponent lol
Reading this, I am reminded of a saying I once heard in a MTG game. "I don't have creature removal, but I do have player removal."
@@nodeberiaestaraqui93 Yeah, I know I basically said the same thing but I wanted my own spin on it lol!
fun fact, there are only three cards with the "force your opponent to banish" effect - Evenly, Kashtira Big Bang.... and Transmission Gear.
based on the name seems like transmission gear is something from the geargiano archetype
a mediocre archetype all about swarming with level 3/4 machines to MAYBE go into an XYZ
@@Green24152yet the Rank 4 XYZ is an amazing tool for Machina/Orcust to search out a Maschine from deck.
You get to play rock paper scissors lol
Copy pasta from the wiki :
During damage calculation, if your monster battles an opponent's monster: Play rock-paper-scissors with your opponent. Make the losing player banish the battling monster they control, face-down.
@unknownlegend4127 yes, it features Geargiano monsters in the artwork.
Me opening both Evenly Matched and Dark Ruler: "It's Morbin time."
But you're going first :(
Chain Counter Trap then negate the Evenly with Baronne
Let them cook to well done, and give them confuse as you start battle phase without any summon and at the end battle phase throw that evenly match 🗿🗿🤣
Little thingy to know about Evenly Matched: tokens cannot be banished. So, if your opponent controls a token, they're forced to banish everything BUT the token.
So there's an interaction with a field with tokens on it: tokens can't be banished face-down.
If your opponent somehow has a token on the field (of either a nibiru or adventure variety, usually, but any token works) when you activate evenly from your hand at the end of the battle phase, they *have* to banish everything else and don't get to choose.
What happens when they have multiple tokens? Do they only keep the tokens?
@@zztm296 Correct, they keep any tokens they have.
It goes well with the ojama tokens, like ojama duo, and the evenly matched can activate a Paleozoic in grave too and still board wipe 😉
This can be easily done in Dinosaur decks using Lost World.
@@trevvion3 You wouldn't want to do that because then the paleo would be on field and the opponent can keep 2 cards
Not to mention "MST negate" is a very funny thing to happen with evenly on board when your opponent doesn't understand how evenly works
The fact mst evenly actually makes it stronger is hilarious because upon clearing the evenly that means the board is empty on resolution so it literally makes evenly a true full board wipe that can take everything
I once played a triple battle with 2 more people, My lair of darkness vs Evil eye and magikey.
I GOT EVENLY MATCHED 4 TIMES, AND I STILL SURVIVED!
As someone who recently used evenly matched, it's really great
Psa for new players as well, if you destroy evenly you'll have to banish your whole field because your oppenet has no cards on the field now
pro tip : destroy your own evenly
@@dudono1744 galaxy brain
@@dudono1744 it would make Evenly broken af if there's a card that can destroy Evenly while you activated it from hand
@@dudono1744The thing is no way to destroy/getting rid own evenly for now so that you have no cards on the field, the possible thing that causes opponent need to banish all their card is such as Transaction Rollback copying Evenly Matched in GY while you have no cards on the field
Actually there is a card that can do that and a commonly used one at that. Forbidden Droplet. If you chain Forbidden Droplet to an Evenly Matched and send Evenly Match for cost, on resolution of Evenly Matched, your board would be empty and thus your opponent would have to banish everything.
The fact I can pinpoint what decks can realistically make the example board is kinda crazy
Funny thing is if you have multiple copies in hand, if one is negated, you can then play a second (and very rarely, third) Evenly Matched soon after during the same battle phase.
Yes, because it is not once per turn
When you're pretty proud with how wonderful your end board is but then your opponent goes straight to battle phase
Can be countered with a Counter Trap card- Seven tools of the Bandit, Ultimate Providence & Solemn Judgement are examples. And then there’s Imperial Iron Wall.
I've had a few duels where someone tries to banish my whole field, but Royal Decree stopped it... and it was already face up which made a little funnier (Master Duel).
Tips. If your maximize the effectiveness of evenly match, Your combo with Nibiru. Nibiru + evenly match will force your opponent to banish except token. In your turn, if opponent still can combo after Nibiru and have monster more 3000 att, kill your own Nibiru and instantly evenly matched, this force opponent to banish everything accept that useless token. This combo require a lot of big brain play
One of my favorite card of all time
Evenly matched, forbidden droplet combo is a beautiful thing
How so? You'll still control droplet when evenly resolves so it doesn't change anything.
@@stiggy8258 you send off evenly and then droplet negates the baronne that just negated evenly matched and because evenly is no longer on the field, it can't be targeted to be negated anymore
@@elgringo1893Umm just wanna correct Baronne negate doesn't target
@@stiggy8258It does change something such as the case mentioned that you can successfully negate their negate so Evenly resolves successfully
@@jofx4051 I am fully aware, but in case there's another card that does target, it gets dodged
PSA: Do NOT destroy the evenly matched when it is activated, you must negate it!
Fun fact evenly matched isn't once per turn so if you omni negate it they can simply rechain it by still prolonging the end of the battle phase
I still remember how my opponent mistakenly banished their Expurelly Noir on my evenly. They quickly scoop. Best luck ive ever had
top decking 2 evenly’s might be the best feeling in the world
How about 3 🗿🗿🤣
A fun combo to use is evenly matched + Twin Twister= full board nuke
Fun fact you can use evenly on your opponents turn as well
No kidding.... 👎 😊
Thanks Captain Obvious, very cool fun fact
I combo'ed this with Nibiru against a Tearlament player game 2 to screw them over.
Man, that felt so good.
theres also a trick to clear every card with evenly matched, u use evenly matched first then mst on it
Nobody:
Me playing lord of thunder to skip my opponent's battle phase so i prevent evenly matcheds: I'm a genius
The funniest ruling with this card is that tokens can't be banished face-down, so if your opponent has a token on field, they are forced to keep the token and banish everything else.
During the time when the adventure package was popular, this was a huge problem.
Now the real question is, would this card see play in Duel links.
Amazing removal but since there’s no main phase 2 you can’t build a board after the wipe.
Duel links isn’t at that power level yet. We only have a few cards that can board wipe and you have to commit quite a few resources to get that board wipe
@@Sh1ranu1 They also have a history of releasing powerful cards that aren’t good in the game but are pretty good in the tcg, like Dark Ruler No More.
Evenly Matched wouldn’t have nearly the same upside so releasing it wouldn’t be too much of an issue. Especially since most decent traps have the limit 3 clause.
You can still play the card in the end phase I think. But then you would have to leave yourself wide open if you want to get the full effect of evenly. You can either set a monster or try to add a battle faider in your deck so you wouldn't get otk'd. A two card combo still sounds pretty good against a big board, though if you want to draw into your fader soon enough you would have to use multiples and that would mess with your deck's consistency. So... it depends. Definitely not as viable.
Gonna funny banishing all their cards except 1 since duel links players are forced to set their card on their MP cause they don't have second MP
@@mangasaint Yeah we have quite a few staples that are amazing in the TCG/OCG that are only ok in DL because our power level hasnt reached the point where kaijus and DRNM are nigh necessities. Also we have no MP2 so Evenly is hampered. and we have 3 zones which is a soft nerf to Link-2's that have diagonal arrows
if you evenly floowodereze they bamish normally because any card that would remove them from the field causes them to banish themselves instead
I think another aspect of the card is that it doesn't have the once per turn clause
I fucking love this card when going second.
Imperial iron wall be like : interesting
There are also rare times the opponent will either destroy or banish EM without negating it. Making it so that EVERYTHING is banished rather than a lone survivor.
Me when i have 3 d.d survivors and d.d scout planes on the field waiting to get evenly matched cuz my opponent can't read
Good luck your cards getting banished face down so those things can't ever come back
ah yea, forgot bout facedown. theres still necroface though @@jofx4051
"Evenly" is devastating when you suffer it... A missed battle phase is a small thing if almost the entire opponent's field disappears.
What ever you do don't destroy Evenly Matched as that'll make you banish your entire field as what ever card you use to destroy Evenly Matched it'll be a chain link 2 which mean it well resolved first then Evenly Matched resulting in your opponent having an empty field which then force you to have an empty field as well.
The good things about this card is, it's not once per turn. So if your opponent negates your first evenly matched, you can activate your 2nd copy again.
Evenly Matched
is also not once per turn so if the 1st one is negated, you can use a 2nd one.
learned this the hard way
I wish I could use this in Runick, it would make it soooo busted but you can't bait out any of their negates without using a couple Runick spells and that means no BP and thus no evenly :/ Runick surprisingly makes it so you can't use a lot of staples. Most of the Pot cards are out since you're not allowed to draw cards by card effect during the turn you use them. Droll is out because it's reciprocal and thus blanks your field spell's draw efect. Basically any Link monster is out unless you're playing some combo deck that just uses Runick monsters for instant fusions. And just forget about using Skill Drain, unless you _want_ your opponent's Duster to wipe your field spell. Even something like Forbidden Droplet is surprisingly bad in Runick decks since you need your full starting hand most of the time to get a monster and your fountain to stick and for your fountain to resolve for 3 cards. Oof.
You can
Just enter your BP and use your runick cards on your BP instead of your MP1
I always play 3 of these in every deck no matter what it's just too strong if you have to go 2nd
Oh wow! Towers monsters are still vulnerable to Evenly Matched? 🤯
i wish i didnt face this max c and ash every day, but it is what it is
I usually chain my evenly matched with forbidden droplet, send it as a cost, and board wipe entire opponent field.
It's not going to banish everything, because you still control the Droplet.
When Zeus wipes the board after you use Evenly match:
That’s why we double evenly
When u evenly a floo player but the birds be banished face up....
I don’t understand how a card that is unaffected by cards effects can still be hit
Ghoti and Floowandereeze laugh about Evenly Matched.
Except most Ghoti cards gonna need to banished face down when leaving field that way but only small floo birds are banished face up because of their card conditions
Evenly Matched is so strong I've only been able to counter it once, and it was cause I had Imperial Iron Wall set from turn 1
Avoid trying to destroy evenly match with quick play that make sure your field will be completely destroyed zero cards people
Fun fact if you use evenly match and you oponent has a token they are forced to keep the token on the field
My opponent: *passes their 1st turn*
Me, a Speedroid player: So, you've chosen death?
Me, a fluffal player: omae wa shinderu
Unchained go brrrr
Who summons accescode turn 1?
“I activate Evenly Matched.”
“I chain Imperial Iron Wall.”
“…Wth are you doing with that card in your deck?”
“Why are you running Evenly Matched?”
I used to run the Wall too for the same reason, then I added Mind Crush just to see my opponent's reaction when I call Evenly Matched at the start of their BP (too bad it won't work twice)
I run it in Master Duel with Lord of the Heavenly Prison so that whatever I set doesn't get banished.
Just use Lancea instead
Also don’t forget that if your opponent has a token on the field they have to keep it and banish everything else :)
What even happens if the opponent has two tokens when Evenly Matched gets activated, anyways?
@@luigifan4585Token can't be banished face down, so they keep all the token.
Not even maxx c matches the level of hatred that i have for this card..
I like it it's an out for being with negate boards and monster spammers. Here's an additional plus they get banished so you lose your extra deck(aka graveyard)
Battle phase, end of battle phase😂
"where is my red reboot" sam says 🗿🗿🤣
@@tattletalestrengler8946 LOL 🤣👌
Sad you didnt use an adventure board to show off the token ruling with evenly matched
Late to this but am i the only one that think mortimer may be a changling instead of a half elf all the sign are there he can change his appearance he somehow heavier than he let on and several other small fact allude to it
It's a necessary evil. I don't like that card, but I need it, otherwise going second means loosing the game vs any of the meta decks.
Towers Turbo is good agaisnt evenly
You should use it in runick
Jinzo deck: bah.
Or trap stun and the continuous trap card also can get rid of it. Sad that red reboot banned though
Ah, yes, the op card that is 110% possible to be added to duel links.
After all, at end of your bp is the end phase, no cards means you are open to otk.
And at end of your opponents battle phase... well, you probably already lost the duel by then.
I wonder if I remove this trap via any card destroy effect before its resolve ,my opponent has to sacrifice all cards on his side right?🤔
Yes it does, learned that the hard way 😂.
yes, but no. if you do that, lets say for example, using Mystical Space Typhoon, target your own evenly matched, then the evenly match is gone, but MST will still be on your board, so opponent can still keep one card. may be if you use twin twister but i dont remember you can twin twister target itself but then i dont know the benefits is worth if you go that far. the best way to evenly match opponent to zero board is either they do you a service of chain destroy your evenly (aka they fcked up) or they have token on their field (would be perfect if you can find a card to easily give them a token that's a quick play)
@@bankkunarak Single-use spells and traps generally can't target themselves.
Does it Work against Monsters, that are immun to card effects because the player himself banish the card?
yep, it's basically a tribute
It affects the player to banish cards not the cards
If you use evenly matched and then chained like an MST to destroy it before it resolved, would you be able to force your opponent to have 0 cards on field?
Only if your opponent uses the MST because if you used it from yourself you still have 1 card at the resolution of the chain.
Only if you use something like DPE which can destroy itself as well.
@@bridgeseller7004 if this is the case it means Evenly Matched can't be activated from hand
@@dwinandapramudya oh yeah you right 😂
Someone tried to evenly match my lab deck but i had impenetable iron wall first hand
This card is a plague in Master Duel, just like Maxx "C"
You sound triggered by it, personally I feel it's a completely fair card in the broken meta.
@@Citizen_Nappa23 Now that Arise-Heart is gone in the TCG, this card deserves to die with it
You know yu gi oh is complicated when cards that are unaffected by card effect can be affected by effect on the player. Isnt forcing the opponent to banish his own card come from the effect of the trap? How come it can bypass immunity!
Don't worry, it makes me mad, too.
I had a guy use mst on it
Yeah we all know what happened
i have it.
Would the that work against a traptrix deck?
Yes, because Evenly Matched affects the player, not the cards on the field
@@dwinandapramudyaok. Thanks for the clarification
Yes, but if you leave Sera and not used her effects yet, you can rebuild off of that.
Is giving up the battle phase that big of a downside?
Nope, it's only matters if your deck is an OTK decks.
It's a downside enough to make it fair
It should have at least been a counter trap
Now that's just stupid
U think it would be banned… like the word even matched doesn’t fit the name… it’s way too op… and it doesn’t give an even match…
I hate this damn card
needs to be banned
The most overtuned card ever made.. this, super poly, and DRNM are horribly designed unfair BS that should have never been released.
Horribly designed unfair BS It's the bread and butter of Yugioh
In defense of superpoly, it did come from a time when fusions required specific materials to summon.
I agree with superpoly but disagree with evenly and DRNM. Those two are necessary and specifically help the player going second.
The statement in this video was actually incorrect. Many decks can come back from this card.
Floo Just needs dreamtown. Keep that after evenly in m2 and you're back to the same board you had.
