ONE OF MY FAVORITE SHOWS! I'VE WATCHED THIS SHOW IN WHOLE LIKE 4 OR 5 TIMES. IT NEEDS TO COME BACK BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T FINISH THE STORIES LIKE WAYNE WILLIAMS AND BTK KILLER THOSE WEREN'T FINISHED. THIS SHOW GREAT ACTING 100% GREAT ACTING!!

Ed Kemper actor is criminally underrated, he nailed every scene he is in
Omg, yes! The actor playing Speck did a fine job, too.
But Kemper set that bar HIGH. I even liked the guy (Ed, not just the actor) because of the portrayal.
If you watch Kemper’s interviews the actor basically became Kemper.

I really like the actor and hope to see him get more work.
@@badkitty4922oddly most officers liked Kemper. He honestly wanted to help them solve cases. He even said he would love to be free some day, but if they ever let him out he would do it again.

The hug was terrifying. An excellent moment on TV when nothing obviously scary is happening yet you feel your hairs stand on end because of a harmless hug.
Fincher didn't see any reason to continue the series going forward. And Netflix has a track record of not listening to fans

The actor of Ed Kemper is STELLAR. Really well played of him, I was so amazed when I watched this series the first time.
I lived an hour or so from Atlanta during the child murders, and I think they captured that story pretty well. Heard it on the news every night and could only imagine the terror those parents and families felt.
John Douglas and Robert Ressler are the two main reasons why I became such a True Crime enthusiast, I read all of their books based on these cases, and they're both also the reason why we have television show crime dramas like The Profiler, Criminal Minds, and CSI.
I can’t believe they cancelled this show. They were getting ready to catch BTK.

@@sarahkinsey5434yeah, I don’t know why the show decided to make him the focus of the overarching story when the only way they could have concluded it at the end was with a time jump.
This was set in the 70s, him going under the radar for years is actually accurate

I heard it wasn’t so much a cancellation than the creator leaving to pursue other projects. I’m sure if he hadn’t Netflix would have renewed it.

That show was amazing. If it came back, I might get Netflix again. Also, fun fact the actor who played Charles Manson played him in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood for those who don’t know.
Use this comment as a "Bring back Mindhunter" button. Maybe we even start a petition? Netflix dropped it because it was costing too much and people like David Fincher said it was tiring. Hopefully now they've had a rest, they can come back and do another 5 or 6 series 😁
For people who enjoyed the show but haven't read the books by either of the two FBI agents portrayed in the show (with some liberties taken with their personal lives) I would recommend the eponymous "Mindhunter" by John E. Douglas and Mark Olshaker, as well as his "Journey into Darkness" and "Obsessions." He's actually got several more but I think those (especially Mindhunter) covers most of what was in the shows and "The Mind of BTK" (which I haven't read yet) would cover his involvement in finding the BTK Killer.
Would also recommend Robert Ressler's "Whoever Fights Monsters" and "I Have Lived in the Monster."
Dr. Ann Burgess recently wrote "A Killer By Design" (which I've only read a little bit of but plan to read more" and all there were authors on the "Crime Classification Manual" which is almost like a DSM for violent crimes and "Sexual Homicides: Patterns & Motives." The last two are probably more technical than some of the others.
Bummer that Netflix put the kibosh on the show because it’s one of the best of the century so far.
I just loved this series and have no idea why it wasn’t renewed, especially when they finally started finding the psychos by interviewing the ones in jail. The BSU is why the Atlanta serial killer was found finally.

Sad that it never got a 3rd season, i would have loved to see Ricardo Ramirez in it and being play by the same actor who played him on American Horror Story 84

My favorite moments were the interviews with Ed Kemper. He seemed like a normal guy which is very creepy.
Fantastic performances, great music (I loved the inclusion of Red Rider's "Lunatic Fringe").
There is so much left to explore, BTK especially.

The earliest speculative mention of a serial killer was in 1927. An unknown Dutch journalist wrote a review about the film “The Coming Of Amos” (1925), wherein the villain is described as a “serie-moordenaar” in the article, which translates “serial killer” in Dutch.

Only think I don't like about the shows portrayal of Kemper is that Ed doesn't talk that slow. But they were probably trying to make him seem ominous.
If you’d met Ed in a bar and struck up a conversation with him, you’d just think he was an intelligent and amiable guy. I think that’s what so scary about him. If he hadn’t killed his mother and handed himself in I think he’d have been prolific. I wonder how long he’d have taken to get caught?

Instead of a hug, Kemper told Ressler that he was just teasing when he said those things. It's tough to tell whether that was true or not. Kemper did say he never had a desire to kill again. That's why he turned himself in.
I think Ed was teasing. He did want to scare him a bit, just to show dominance, but knew if he killed Ressler the interviews would stop...and he did love attention back in those days.
Yes please bring this show back.

I heard a lot of buzz about this show when it first came out but was a little tired of all the serial killer shows & passed on it. A couple months ago I binged it & omg, is it bingeable. The performances of the cast is just amazing & the writing is great too. Wish it had continued. There is another docuseries about psychopaths that features actual footage of interrogations by police while diff psychiatrists comment. It's chilling to say the least. It's also surprising how many psychopaths will turn themselves in or confess with no prompting & love being interviewed in jail. These people rank high in psychopathy, obsessive thoughts & narcissism, low in impulse control & empathy. The bureau needed a Behavioral/Profiler division that specialized in this type of crime. The police are taught to look for motives like greed or revenge, psychopaths don't have any. They just like killing.
They said it cost too much to make. If all the fans donate a few dollars would that help? I'm sure they'd hit over a million pretty quickly.

Now you need to do Criminal Minds. They rip a lot of their material from the headlines. Like the first season of Evolution was based on Israel Keyes and his kill kits.
