Was "Camp Rock" ever a good movie?

- Camp Rock (2008) stars Demi Lovato as Mitchie, where she creates a false image of herself at a camp aimed to create the next big stars. Joe Jonas and the Jonas Brothers also star in this film making it one of the most iconic tween movies of the 2000's. Did it age well? Was the movie ever good or are we just nostalgic for it?
Also, I now realize the movie came in 2008 and not 2009 - so the recession joke is technically inaccurate since it started at the end of 2008... in case anyone cares. Sorry!

I was shocked to find out her mom had a husband at all lol. As a kid I fully delete the husband and, in my mind, she and the camp director/owner/whatever his title was were a Thing by the second movie so yeah- definitely got flirty vibes from them
also Mitchie's dad does not appear in Camp Rock 2, so I'd like to believe that maybe there was something going between them

11:08 i think this is a sign that the movie could have been so much better if they had followed through with what they set up in this shot. she's singing "this is real, this is me" on set instead of being pre-recorded and she's performing it like she's obviously too scared to really be real and show who she really is. it doesnt make sense to me that you'd go from this to pasting a pre-recorded version of the song over the live performance at the end where she's supposed to finally be comfortable being real. Maybe they're hinting that being real is overrated and you should choose your lies wisely? lol

you should review the movie Camp with Anna Kendrick its a lesser known movie that i believe is older than camp rock but i am conviced that Camp rock was heavily inspired by it

I don't understand why Mickey just couldn't be herself and tell the truth about her mom being a cook she should have just told the truth because her mom worked so hard and then maybe just lied and said her mom worked at a hot TVs China even though that's not true and then she needs to be grateful about the mother that she does have cuz her mother put a lot on the line for her

I'm pretty sure that wasn't until camp rock 2 which is why I may NOT cover that one. Also because of the conditions they had their actors in and just overworked them to hell. I know that kind of treatment isn't exclusive to Camp rock 2 but because I KNOW about it, I'm just steering clear. I would never want to comment on something like Demi having a substance problem. Hollywood really needs to do better.

this movie is such a ripoff of Mean Girls. main character hangs out with the mean girl clique while blowing off another girl who is trying to be her friend. the girl we're supposed to like used to be best friends with the mean girl
I'm fairly certain the majority of teen movies ripped off mean girls since it was such a success lol but it could never be topped.
