- In this video, I show the setup that I have built on my snowmobile for ice fishing. I added a large storage bin, and auger mount, and a rack for my spearing equipment(ice saw, chisel, large scooper and spear).

Wicked set up ! , you did a great job at keeping everything “ stream lined “ makes it much more capable for a back woods fisherman . Having the auger mounted parallel instead of perpendicular to the sled like so many others do is key 👌
Thanks for the nice comments man, it’s nice to hear them! I’ve been pretty happy with it too it’s been working well.
Nice!
Thanks!
Awesome set up. Well done.
Thank You!
Genius set up. Well bone.
Thanks for the compliment!
Nice system you made.
Thanks!
Nice setup bud!
Thanks Man!
Great job👍
Thanks 👍
Nice design!
Thank you!
Smart
I got my adventure done up for icefishing too. Had to keep tge 2 up seat though. Made a rack for behind the seat where I put my box. Auger holder this week.
Yeah mine didnt come with the second seat(I got the sled used) so thats why i got rid of that rack and put the big box back there. I still ride with 2 people, its just not as comfy.
@@northwoodsengineered how long have you had yours?
@@j.wildoutdoors8483 Mines a 2016 and I bought it in 2018. It had been a demo unit and had about 800 miles on it.
@@northwoodsengineered Mines a 16 that i bought in 18 aswell haha. I only put maybe 500km on it though.
Supermart icedrill bracket
That’s good ideas man make some of those holders and start selling them it can change your income, never know
Thanks, Yeah I have definitely thought of that!
I agree.. that would sell. Just don't include the action packer to keep price and shipping cost down.
I like that you don't have to do anything permanent to the sled. Pert near perfect if you ask me! Does it come in camo?
maybe someday but not right now!
Awesome man i love the mod, i did something similar this season with my t slots, i installed a digger mount with just one 1/4 inch carriage bolt on each side of the t slot and raised it with faucet washers to clear the taillight, but it didnt last and now broke the t slots clean right off where there is a big space in the channel now lol, so now im thinking i have to go your route with the square tubing support! Do you think wood would work as well for support as i dont have access to scrap metal?
Aww man, sorry to hear it broke but yeah I think you probably just need more support. So which part would be using wood instead. Not sure exactly what you are thinking? Like bolting the digger mount to wood and then wood to the sled?
Is your digger mount running the same length as the sled or across it?
@@shawzy17 thank you for the reply! I am running the digger mount across the sled so only 2 out of the 4 holes are being utalized (i had to drill a new hole to line up in the channels) im either thinking to add a wood support like how you have with the two carriage bolts and then one in the center to join them together? But then i realized as im typing this that wont be as secure as a weld, so my other thought it running a 2x4 or something across and cutting a notch to clear the taillight. Or where my tslot broke just drilling through the tunnel directly lol but i think the bearing weight is the issue, i actually had the mount pushed up all the way agaisnt the seat to help with wobble and then added two more carriage bolts behind on the other side but the vibration loosed everything and led to shit show lol,
I must also add im beginner DIY lol
@@str8rippinlips932 no worries about being a beginner you gotta start somewhere! what model snowmobile is it? Is it not a long track? do you have anything else mounted on the back or are you just trying to do the auger mount? one idea im thinking of is you could get a 3/4" piece of plywood, one that runs the length of the tunnel, notch it around the tailight if needed, and mount it with 4 or even 6 carriage bolts. Also use large area washer and be sure to use nylock nuts if you are having things come loose from vibration. Mount it so its flush on one side and then sticks out on the side you want the auger by about 6 inches. Then you could get two or three big U bolts, and mount the auger carrier to the plywood with those. Some big hardware stores like menards sell 2x2 ft plywood so you dont have to deal with a whole sheet if you dont need it. I believe a 2Ft wide piece would work well.
What clamp is that for the auger? The red handled one???
It’s called a j hook toggle clamp. I just added the Amazon link to the description.
What size square tubing did you use? Do you have much clearance for your tail light?
It’s 1.5” tube sitting on 3/16” bar. Then the aluminum brackets on the bottom of the bin are about 1/8”. The bottom of the bin is still touching the top of the tail light but not putting much pressure. Needing to clear the tail light was definitively a little annoying.
Ya that is something I’ve been working out, maybe just some heavy rubber grommets under the flat bar attaching to the tunnel.
Yeah just anything to lift it up a little higher should work fine.
