  • First flight to the "Rock" in almost a year. Shot with a DJI Phantom 4Pro at 4K 60fps. Came back 2 more times after this day. Those videos will also be uploaded.
Make sure to also check out the Wave, Status and surf video of Tillamook Rock Lighthouse.
    Thanks for watching.
Update: Koin 6 out of Portland Oregon did a story on Tillamook Lighthouse and featured some of my Drone footage in their story.

Your Video of my "home for 19 months" was spectacular! so many memories came flooding back, the drone hovered over the east doorway entry and I could see a little inside. To the left inside the doorway was the keeper Oswald Allik's office and to the right inside the doorway was his room. Mine was the next room to his, and he would periodically pause outside my door when I played concerto music on my violin, which he liked but HATED when I played country or "fiddle music". Thanks for the trip down memory lane. ---- Lon Haynes

I’ve always been fascinated by this lighthouse, even made up a horror story about it for a writing class (got an A+)! Always wanted to see what this place looked like; thank you for making this possible!

It’s my dream to sometime in the future see this lighthouse restored and have proper care. It would be tough but it would be an amazing thing to see like tours to there a few times a day, or even turn some of the old rooms in there into some form of hotel. But to think, in a decade or 2 this building could collapse due to deterioration. It’s always been a dream of mine to find a way into the island just to look inside. It saddens me seeing how much she is deteriorating compared to many other lighthouses. Such a shame. But I digress, amazing video keep up the good work

This is hands down the greatest film footage and piloting combination around an extremely hazardous to men and equipment geographic location in the history off hobby drone photography. I know that place and I know the wind was screaming during this flight....in awe of your skills and want to see you do this in real world. I live within veiw of the rock so gimmee a heads upj next time yr coming down and i will be there to help you anyway I can.

Didn't realize a DJI Phantom drone had that kind of range and loitering capability.

Why haven’t the graffiti clowns messed this up. What no graffiti!

How strange no one has a video of explorers going inside the lighthouse. Outside - lovely. Inside - ?? What is keeping everyone from filming the interior?

Take it back out there and check out our paint job

Thank you so much!! Ive always loved Terrible Tilly and the stories only gave way to the immense admiration I have for the keepers, and builders. This film is a visual documentary of all I have read.

That’s an amazing video. I’ve flown out over that ocean at Ecola a few times but I never had to guts to fly all the way out there. Maybe when I have a drone I’m willing to lose. Nice work.

Absolutely fantastic drone flight, and a beauty Terrible Tilly, since 10 minutes was watching George Slight Marshall pioneer of lighthoses construction in Cape Horn, here in Chile circa 1896.

This is stunning, thank you. I would like to suggest another project. I would love to see the coastline as the ship captain would from an old sailing ship from the 19th or 18th century. Perhaps from Neahkahnie mountain up to and crossing the Columbia River bar. Again, thank you.

Very well done. I live here on the coast and just now getting into fpv drones I want to eventually shoot this place for sure.

Thank you SO much for sharing your footage will all of us! About five years ago, I discovered the story of the lighthouse and fell into deep fascination with it. (I even wrote a poem about it.) I've seen it twice from shore (I live in Idaho) and always wanted to see it up close. I'd love to visit in person, but doubt I'll have the opportunity unless I owned it or were on a crew. I guess this is the next best thing. :)

Very cool!! Love old places like this.
