All of that brown water blowing out of a hole. Maybe thats the reason for all the fog. Not to hide the drop from those on the ride but to hide all that brown liquid spewing from the hole. Tiana's Diarrea Drop Adventure?

They totally missed an opportunity here...having the voodoo dolls hitting drums while being pulled up the incline to a wide open mouth like the movie lol oh well probably too scary now for ....the modern audience lol

The Unimagineers really went all out on this one. Couldn't have just built a totally new ride that made some sense...

Also over here I wouldn’t care one bit if they completely leveled California adventure. Aside from Soarin and cars land the whole park is absolute trash and has been ever since it opened in 2001
There are no flamingos in Louisiana especially in Louisiana. They should have used egrets.
It's possible that downplaying the drop could backfire on Disney if younger kids are encouraged to go on the rise then experience a big drop they aren't ready for. This could lead to complaints from parents.

I see both sides of this. See my Dad used to lie to me about when the drop on splash mountain was so I’d stop freaking out as we’d go up that final lift. It worked, but I never forgave nor forgot that. And I forever knew when the drop was after he lied to me.
Now that said I also know families who took their kids on Wildcat’s Revenge at Hershey. See Wildcat’s Revenge took the wooden structure of the old much more tame wildcat coaster and made it into something new and much less kid friendly. Yeah parents didn’t realize that and I saw a lot of traumatized kids. I will say that Wildcat’s revenge is more extreme than Splash Mountain but yeah.

Exactly I was crying when I did that as a kid. Also imagine claping to dig a little deeper then facing the that plunge the kids will be crying there ass off. That's what made Splash Mountain so good. The kids barley knew the characters and had to be scared any way possible
Totally. It is misleading for sure and the obscured drop will be a jarring to many new riders as it’s just not featured in any advertising or in person.
I think it may get backlash from parents as their child will definitely be … less prepared… than previous generations of kids

Dig a little deep is the song? Anyone else remember the salt domes history. How did Disney go from saying they're removed the most R-ride in their park, only to replace with an actual R-ride. (Sorry for short handing but not too sure what might ping YT feelings.)
I'm sure that's going to happen it's history will be worse then the people will rather have Splash Mountain back in 10 years

yeah from myunderstanding they wanted to keep the idea of voodoo and black magic out, as they felt that was too scary for little kids...ok, good luck with that- they watcehd the actual movie right?! pretty sure it was in there!!
The new ride literally looks like a bottom and drops logs.... A beautiful rose was defaced into a butt. What an apt metaphor for Disney in general.

I don’t know who said it but it’s true, if you look at the top of Tiana‘s Bayou adventure, it looks like Tahiti’s backside
Pixie dusters had to base this in make believe to excuse it being completely off theme and inaccurate to what its supposed to portray
My initial thought was that this is going to be really scary for the “little kids” as they think everything is fine, and then suddenly they’re being hurled over the side of a waterfall that they didn’t know was coming. Not only because they didn’t have a sense of it INSIDE the ride, but also because you can’t see it from the OUTSIDE of the ride. So they’re going to have a lot of crying kids who feel betrayed by Disney in lying to them. I can see how this could also happen with people from other countries who also don’t know what this type of ride is. The least of which, they can no longer film or take photos of their family and friends coming down the drop because you can’t see them. I can see how this is going to totally backfire in the worst way.

This will definitely be a 10 year atraction but will possibly change to Tianas Splash Mountain
The lift hill song was known as "Burrow's Lament". To retort, I think obscuring the drop with fog, especially if it goes all the way down would look kinda cool at night and be even more thrilling.
And it would lead to injuries. People don't gather themselves for a drop, and they end up hitting something hard.
Little kids are gonna love that

I dearest hope is that on opening day of Tiana's Bayou Disaster everyone who possibly can will fly to Tokyo Disneyland and ride Splash Mountain instead.

This is really fascinating! You’re spot on. They are absolutely trying to hide what may deter younger guests. Honestly I think they did it with the incredicoaster as well . So much of the lift hill and the drop are less notable. I’ve had conversations with friends that didn’t understand what I meant when I said “the drop” or that incredicoaster doesn’t “have a drop” … the scene and the carefully concealed drop truly does draw in younger kids that would normally refuse..
Now that it’s IP it HAS to be for the younger demographics that like the movies and … they conceal the focal points.
Guardians as Disneyland also did this. Theres Less visibility that elevators are visible facing outside. The paint seems to intentionally draw attention AWAY from the openings. Rumor was the doors would no longer open with the new ride , which I think was changed due to the on ride photo being valuable.
The lead up is far less scary than before and just like incredicoaster , friends of mine have never noticed the ride operation from the ground until I point it out
It is sad honesty. I am … like it’s some kind of fun fact. It’s no longer obvious to new audiences.
I’m looking forward to Tiana I think it will be charming, I think they also are trying to fit a type of attraction into a box that really can’t accommodate the modifications necessary to accomplish their goal.

Using "Friends on the Other Side" for that climb would've been such a bad ass move, even I would've given it a chance and I hate that this makeover is even happening. But of course that isn't happening. They're never going to get little girls into this ride. It'll only make it less appealing to its actual market: older kids and adults interested in a thrill drop. Minimizing that feature is a huge mistake.
I think the mist affect will break after a month and will just never be fixed and it would be abounded
or the mist solution will be too expensive to use, or soem little snowflake will have 'trouble breathing or seeing' so they'll shut it off
I remember the lead up at the Disneyland version was a dark & distorted version of Laughing Place. This just seems weird. What does hiding the drop accomplish? People will hear the screaming. Actually, doesn't that make the experience more intimidating? If you are a parent of young children...I mean, what would you think?
I am honestly so disappointed Friends on the Other Side is not the song being used for the final lift hill. When this retheme was initially announced, I was so excited for that idea. The more we see about this ride, the more disappointed I am with their decisions. Which really sucks because I absoultely adored The Princess and the Frog movie when it came out.
If it took a year to redo Tiana's whatever it'll take a year to turn it back to Splash Mountain.

Like most everything else Disney touches these days, it probably sucks compared to the original. It's like Rumplestiltskin in reverse, but the gold turns not into straw but poop
Wouldn't it be great if during the dark section of the ride before the big drop, you ended up in the spirit world and as you're riding up the hill, you hear, 'Are you reeeaady?"
This will terrify little kids, who won’t be able to ride it because they’re not tall enough. Maybe they thought they could reverse the ride and have you go up the drop rather than down it. I bet they tried to do that and failed.
well, there's nothing on the drop to pull the logs UP if they were to run it in reverse- therid when it was designed was for one thing, to flood the chute and send you down...
June 29 is the opening day for tiana's

I love the Haunted Mansion, but Splash Mountain was genuinely scarier. I loved it!
The mist is not being used to downplay the drop.
How can you downplay a drop that is clearly visible from outside the ride BEFORE riders ever board?

How stupid. Time is a running out as the inmates run the asylum. Quick, need an idea, inside board room, “ what is our most popular restaurant?” Let’s change it quick to a vegetarian cafe, add da rainbow and double the prices.
I think it would be neat if each version of this new ride had a different ending or even a different story. What if Disneyland had Dr facilier...?!

Were Waiting For New Business At The End Of The Drop In Splash ! ~~ Marc Davis Characters Were SO Neat...They Could Go From "ONE" Attraction..And Fit Perfectly Into Another !!!!
It looks haunted, but on a real note the mist effects always break and makes the area around it grimy. It’s not a good call.
Isn't the magic mist what came out of the South Park Shake-weight? That would match well with Disney, right? I mean look at Dr. Who and his 'snowman'..... (although according to Disparu, don't look that up, you don't want it in your search history)

How is a blind drop less scary?
Yeah when the one in Disneyland first opened it had the song Sooner or Later, and as much as I love that song, Burrows Lament does work much better. And I think they’re making the same mistake with TBA. Gotta Dig a Little Deeper is another song I love, but it doesn’t work for that part of the ride.

This is liek advertising 101- excite the audience, build the image of the product and WHY they should want it. I just dons;t see ppl standing outside this attraction like say a roller coaster, just chomping at the bit to experience it

A movie without a villain is not a movie because it has no STAKES. And The Princess and the Frog is nothing without Dr. Facilier. Prince Naveen didn't turn HIMSELF into a frog, did he? What is Snow White without the Evil Queen? The Little Mermaid without Ursula? Meet the Robinsons without the Bowler Hat Guy? Nothing. This ride sounds terrible

Adults Complaining about how it’s now been made for children. Disneyland was imagined for children. It was created as a safe clean park for parents to take their children to have fun. I had an annual pass for years and guess what, I’d see children on splash mountain all the time. Young kids in line for the ride, coming off the ride soaked or running and leading their parents to get in line. The mass majority could care less about the “story” or the “history” of the ride. All they care about is that they are at Disneyland and going on a new ride or the fact that they’re even there. Granted there’s always that one adult Disney nerd couple that’s huffing and pissed about all the kids in their way at the park or the grumbling adult man child with the huge backpack on and snarling look while he moans about long waits. But who cares what you people think. The mass crowds of visitors won’t notice and will enjoy this new ride despite all your online crying for the old ways. Disney should grow and change. That’s what Walt would have wanted.

Ok buddy, I know you’re being disingenuous. I also had an annual pass and Disneyland attendees respond to quality. Radiator Springs was a smash hit for DCA and you’d have been pressed to fit into the land after it opened. Meanwhile Galaxy’s Edge opened to a comparatively lukewarm welcome to becoming a dead zone in a short amount of time. People loved Splash Mountain, if Tiana’s Adventure sucks I predict a cut of riders and overall customer dissatisfaction with it even if it’s the only water ride for DL.
@@Sahxyel wasn’t saying people didn’t love splash mountain. But locals and Disney park fans cannot be the loud majority for what they think the parks should do. Until I was a young adult I had no idea that splash mountain was based off a Disney film. Giving it the Tiana makeover will bring more fans from a younger generation in who want to ride the new “princess” ride. I dont think the ride will “fail” and to speak for slumping Star Wars ride attendance….put it this way….instead of renewing their pass for Disneyland friends and family I know and have let the pass expire and instead have gone to universal or knotts instead. And the reason? Disney has become boring. The same old crap with nothing new worth their time. However all of them are excited about the new Tiana ride. I’ll admit not enough to make them get a pass again but they will visit the park once the ride opens up. So there’s that at least.
