    I saw this video yesterday and I was amazed.. actually after 4 years, I thought I should eat dosa. So 4 days ago I made the batter and made dosa one round, it was partially successful as the metal pan was not used past four years.. so yesterday after watching your video, today I decided clean the pan and make dosa.. so morning I cleaned the pan as per your video and then started dosa as per your instructions.. yes indeed my dosaa came out marvellous.. absolutely stunning.. I used to follow this method four years ago and then I fell sick and stopped making dosa.
    Anyways, thankyou so much for bringing my forgotten dosa making techniques.. thanks again.. I really enjoyed your explanation.. I just finished eating those yummy dosaa and now writing this comment. I am posting my dosa video in my channel, you can watch it if you want.. 😊🤗

    No need of all this trouble, season it once using rice water from cooking rice, the byproduct, either dip the tava in a bucket full of rice starch , leave it for 3 days , after that wash it and use. It becomes automatically non stick. You can also pour thick kanji vellam(rice water after cookin) pour it over the tava and leave it like that for 3 days.

    With my suggestion you can make the same result on non stick tava as well. It's very simple. Dosa gets crispy with nice color ONLY if the dosa sticks to the tava. Of you use even a tiny bit of oil on non stick, these oil bubbles gets under the dosa and lift the dosa from the tava and now you have non uniform color!! So to avoid this, when you start making the dosa, first spray a water on tava. NO OIL. JUST WATER. then apply batter as usual, and even apply ghee on top of the dosa as well. You will get the perfect crispy with uniform color dosa. Now here comes the trick. Before the next dosa, again spray water on tava and make sure all the oil or ghee is evaporated from tava. That's it. You are a winner now. However, honestly I love cast iron tava and dosa. It's healthy and tasty. Non stick coating is a problem. But for the beginner noon stick tava with my technique, you will be hero. Ha ha . Yeah that's what I feel when I make the perfect dosa. Feels like I have done the best perfected work in my entire life. 😃

      @priyamohnot Před rokem +3

      A paint is applied On aliminium tava, called Teflon coating which makes it non stick.. you might have seen your old nonstick tawas this paint coming off from many places,where it went? .....in your stomach, with your dosas. Thats why iron tawa may take a lil effort but are way more better option. No harsh feelings for you, just want to make people understand that aliminium, non stick cookwares and plastic... should be kept away from our food. Everyone one of us has used nonstick tawas, aliminium cookers, and ordered food online, which they pack, hot food in plastic covered with aliminium, its a big danger.
      Please requesting once agin dont take me otherwise. And switch to healthy alternatives. God bless

    After making dosas, every time clean iron tawa with a steel scruber rather than a nylon scruber, tawa surface becomes too much smooth, and keep applied oil on a tawa especially on an iron tawa, everytime wash tawa before preparing dosas. Heat up iron tawa only for just 15 seconds on a high flame, that's more than enough.
