Thank Max. I know that it's a commitment to watch these long form episodes but I also feel that I really want to get 'under the skin' of these perfumes rather than rush through them (I also place chapter marks so it makes it easier to move on) and as you mentioned, ideally it helps as a reference for future testing 😉
And yes, Italic is fun to wear.....interesting that you feel the same way (I know for me it reminds me of Italy and being in Italy)

i am a guy and 100% love Erba Pura. On my skin the fruit is lowkey, and the light musk pulls through in a wonderful way. It smells clean, slightly fruity, and gentle musk with me. It is one of my favs for my casual days.
Yep, I totally agree with you @neph13....this is an awesome fragrance and I too love wearing it. There's some thing unique and magical about this fragrance over cooler weather (makes me happy🧡)

I bought Italica for my big 60 birthday. I love it. I didn't not know the history of Casamorati, interesting. I've put it away, awaiting the proper weather (it's 85 degrees today). I didn't realize Erba Pura was gourmand. Love that chart. I must try it.

I was being cheeky in placing Erba Pura in the line up...yes it has 'edible' notes with the heavy fruit scents but in truth its a Fruity Floral. I just love this fragrance that I wanted an excuse to talk about it (especially since I don't own a lot of other 'fruity florals' that I could create a line up just for this category)

Hi brother, I love this series! Myself, I have Rake and Ruin and Vi Et Armis from Beaufort and I adore them. These are the real Pirates' perfumes I feel. Smoke, Gunpower and Rum etc. I want to try Enigma by Roja from this list!

Excellent segment as always Marcelo. I am not into gourmands very much, however I did sample Xerjoff's Erba Pura this past summer and really liked it. I would recommend to you Enigma (it's called Creation-E in the States due to copyright overlap with another brand). This has a wonderful balance of sweet notes with a boozy accord that's pure magic (and then as I mentioned there's a slight sour note that comes floating past; it's wonderfully complex, a joy to wear)
And yes, Pepe LePew! I just remember seeing this as a cartoon...but you're 100% right!

I love gourmands the most as well. I wouldn't call Erba Pura a gourmand though. Personal favorites: Sultan, Lune Feline, Sweetie Aoud, Black Phantom, and Intoxicated.

Last year, I went to Oligarch to find a gorgeous gourmand. It came down to 2 scents…Lira and Italica. I chose Lira, but had to make the trip down on Christmas Eve to pick up Italica. I also smell a bit of a jam like note, and with the milky almond goodness, I had to have it for Christmas. I’m definitely keen to hunt down some of your other recommendations!
Awesome choice with Lira @InfiShort 01...this is another incredible gourmand by Casamorati.
I love that you can detect a jam note in Italica...next time I spray I'll look out for signs of this too.

When I first started collecting fragrances I was always into freshies and nothing else. As I grew older, I developed a “taste” for different types of fragrances and IMO you have to have your gourmands. I still love my freshies thou 😁...My favorite gourmand fragrance is Kilian Black Phantom.
I think we all start in the 'freshie'/aromatic part of the fragrance families but as you mentioned Juan, as our nose 'matures' and develops we can appreciate the complexity and nuance's that exist in the other fragrance families and there's no going back! Well on a nice summery day, it's nice to wear those freshies then😎

Italica is a stunner, just like walking into Brunetti's in Melbourne when they have fresh pastries out of the oven. My favourite recently has been Xerjoff's Via Cavour 1; the peach, quince, red berries and oud give it a brilliant contrast to the ambery, vanillic, patchouli-chocolate, caramel sweetness, which would otherwise be too much, to make the whole thing just so delicious and substantial (thanks again Chris Maurice).

Hey there Marcel, Great work as always. Personally I don't think of Erba Pura as a gourmand, but its a banger of a fragrance that my wife LOVES. Congrats Man on selecting the VITEA LIGNUM by BEAUFORT LONDON for the list. I thought I was the only person who knew of the brand. Ginger bread cookies! Gourmands work for me, or at least I select them most, on colder days. How about a niche super animalic list?

I haven’t tried any of those but erba pura has been sounding interesting to me lately. I’ve recently heard there are similarities (not a clone) to the new God of Fire which I just picked up and really enjoy! Not sure if it would be redundant to have both so will have to get a sample one day. They have different notes so it may be worth it.
Also, I get the same “more feminine” vibe with God of Fire but I love it so I know from that perspective I’d have no issues with Erba Pura.

I'm yet to experience the Stéphane Humbert Lucas fragrance's as we don't get them here in Australia (well not in a retail outlet). I just had a look on Fragrantica and I can see that it does have a bright fruity opening in particular a mango; so yes would be interesting to see these fragrance's side by side....I'll wait for your report on this😉

@@TheNicheFragranceCollector it’s difficult to get here in the U.S. as well, I had to order from the U.K. but it was worth it! Bright fruity opening indeed and the mango is great. Definitely going to be a great summer scent but I’ll probably pull it out on any warmer Fall days too, but as the temps start to drop I’ve been enjoying my warmer deeper fragrances that I’ve been looking forward to all summer haha

If you like almond-based pastries, please try “paste di mandorla” from Sicily. You can also get them in Naxos.😉
That would be the heliotrope in Naxos which isn't listed, but I would swear is in there (heliotrope also has a sort of 'rounding off' effect on vanilla which I'm sure I pick up).
Ummm, maybe I've already had these 😬 I stayed in the town of Taormina for 7 nights and there was an incredible bakery around the corner from the apartment; every morning with a Maté....life could not have been better😇

I had fallen in love with Pure Nectar by Dua, (don’t roll your eyes at me MarCHello), so ordered the real thing. What landed on my skin was not Pure Nectar - I thought I’d been had! Florals?! In my fruity-musk thing? It developed into the scent you so wonderfully described and was my introduction into non-linear perfumes. (I had a number of niche by that point…but fragrances like BR540, which I love, and Aventus are showers not growers IMO.) As we discussed before with Terroni, my skin is where beastmode goes to die, so I was also pleasantly surprised that EP sticks around even on me.
I didn't roll my eyes, I laughed 😬😂

As far as EP goes, I’m sure your sons will come around, they come from good stock. Question for ya…I’m thinking of engaging a “signature scent” at work, which is a foreign concept to me. I don’t want to challenge my patients and am looking for a likable scent that still exudes authority. GIT and Duro are front runners. The former doesn’t last on me but I do love that one hour. I will value any thoughts or suggestions you offer my friend. Have you done a video on “Boss” scents?

Where is see Erba Pura fitting in gourmand category is a fruit sickle but I love Montale intense cafe, givency Pi, royal Oud is sorta gourmandy as well

I hear about many ppls says erba pura smells synthetic but for me it isnt, it smells like a lot of fruit, a fruit salad with a touch of florals, hopefully i do not get flowers that much from erba and that is perfect for me.

Yes! Lira is gorgeous and the perfect vanilla fragrance....beautifully unique. It was so hard limiting to only 8 fragrance's for this line up; I think I need to create a Vanilla 2.0😎💫

I tried Erba Pura recently. The opening is too sweet n fruity but drydown is really nice and last forever. Ladies love it when i wore it to work recently 😂
Yes, the opening is intense and very fruity (but in the end you get use to this opening and it becomes the joyous moment of the fragrance!)

Do you have a video on how to apply fragrances? When applying fragrances at a distance of 4-6 inches (every atomizer seems to be different) should you move the atomizer across the skin in a sweeping motion or keep it the atomizer stationary, when spraying on your desired pulse point/location?

Great question! For me this comfortably unisex. I love wearing this and my sister also rocks this fragrance; if you love sweet notes (think maple syrup, warm, caramel vibes) then this is "Pure Magic"💫

Funny how I resist the "these are my favourite" tagline 😂 It's like I'm betraying the others in my collection 🤷🏽♂️ but yeah, fine....these are my favourites! Even to the point that I added 'Erba Pura' in this line up, when really it's not a Gourmand but a Fruity Floral...but I love wearing this one so much that I wanted to add it! I got a lot of comments on this 😂 some people questioning my choice!

The problem with E from Clive Christian is that many people said its like Black Phantom from Kilian, which i hated and gave away. Do you know how similar they are?
I don't personally don't get that. I feel that Black Phantom has more of a chocolate vibe, whereas 'E' has this maple syrup, spicy vibe to it.
Personally I reach more often for 'E' than I do for Black Phantom, plus I get more people notice and compliment me when I'm wearing 'E'.
