8 Managers & 3 Owners in the Last 5 Years: What's Happened to AC Milan?
AC Milan is a legendary club, boasting teams like “The Immortals” with players such as Paolo Maldini and Arrigo Sacchi. A club that won 5 European Cups in just 18 years. Now, since 2014, they have seen 8 different managers after sacking manager after manager, had 3 different owners, nearly went bankrupt, Milan was banned from the Europa League, and more. This video explains what happened to AC Milan, and how they got to this point.

@@yourdadhasadogfilter2505 I think you are wrong about Pirlo. He has a unique still of play that Milan could not explore. Pirlo Is like playing with 10 players and 1 ghost. He is a midfielder who does not have the strength or speed, but he is a play maker with killer passes. Who did he have in Milan to use the passes when he seemed to dip in form? He needed a defence that can hold on it's own without him, a midfield to cover him, a finishing striker to score for him; so he can do his thing. Milan didn't have that, but Juve did. It looks like doing too much for one player, but it seems a fair price to pay for a ghost on your team.

United’s fall has been coming for longer than Milan, things didn’t start falling apart until Sir Alex and David Gill left and weren’t replaced adequately, now the club is run by out of touch people who don’t understand the band of football and the market of football and it’s just great to see. United could easily be turned around if the people running it knew what they were doing, their problems are so obvious it’s laughable but I see nothing changing any time soon

I mostly agree with the video. There is something that is missing though and in my opinion is the most important part. Milan grace and downfall years were most due to political reasons. In the period that milan was great was also the period when italy had a lot of economic power and was wasting resources more than it could and italian football economy ws the same as the rest. In that golden period berlusconi had the very smart idea to use a broken/cheap Ac Milan(if you go and look at how he bought it, you'll see plenty of shady business as well) and he used it to show italy how much of a winner he is, as a result he lead italy for 20 years, it is a bit oversiplified but that is basically what the situation was. Then the economic crisis in 2008 hit italy pretty hard, but berlusconi was still using it, untill Balotelli was his last political transfer. He then sold the team at a comically high price, considering all the debt the team was into, to a shady chinese business-man, who's rumored to be involved in various frauds, or at least he is very close to people who were actually proven guilty. This mr'li arrives, buys Milan, pays all its previous debts, pays some more money to keep the club afloat for 1 season, puts the club on more debts just for old times sake. After this gentleman spent around a bilion euros(that is just counting the money that he and his "investors" actually spent) elliot(who lent mr'Li 350 mils) gets the club because he failed to pay something like 30 milions as agreed in the loan terms for that date. This chinese guy looses the club, and elliot gets it for 350 milions(less of half of the total investment the chinese guy did a year before) , and he doesnt even complains, he just disappears just as suddenly as he appeared. I mean, pirlo's transfer seems pretty marginal if you ask me after all that crap

Berlusconi was the reason for Milan’s downfall! I still think he should’ve sold the team back in 2012 and not lose key players and just fiddle with the fans! The first mistake that led Milan to this downfall is not even trying to replace gradually some of the players that were getting old like Gattuso, Inzaghi, Ambrosini, Seedorf etc etc but instead they waited it out and now are fucked to this day! It sucks to be a Milan fan these days, Rangnick is showing real promise though! It seems like he is going to have complete control of the team and that’s a really good thing because he is a really great coach/scout

It’s important to note that with Giampoalo Milan looked UNSTABLE. Even with the 9 points we didn’t look convincing at all. The wins were one goal splits over relegation level teams. The supporters weren’t with him because it seems like all the fight we saw with Gattuso had left the team and when things weren’t working out both Giampoalo and the team completely crumbled. I think it was his quick switch from a 4-3-1-2 back to the 4-3-3 that completely lost the locker room and the supporters. He did it to himself.

if i'm not mistaken, most fans that tweeted #pioliout does it because they feel like Milan keeps replacing mediocrity with mediocrity yet expecting extraordinary results. (at least that's why i tweeted it anyway)
so far, the current Milan management seems like they don't know what they're doing. they say they want to invest in young players to develop them into future stars, yet sold all of the promising young players, and even worse they sold them for peanuts. then they say that they're planning to increase the income and budget of Milan, yet they always pay too much for mediocre players.
i'm a Milan fan, and always will be, so i pray to god, i hope AC Milan prove me wrong. prove me that the management actually knows what they're doing, prove me that pioli can be extraordinary, prove me this "new era of Milan" is actually the good one.

The great Milan sides of the 80s, 90s and 00s developed their youth prospects. This Milan side isn't retaining them at all.
Donnarumma and Romagnoli are arguably their two best players, both came through the academy. It's clear that for Milan to recover it is the academy route they must take, but it is also the long haul.
They aren't giving enough youth players a chance either. Locatelli had a freakishly good season 2 years ago, then went out on loan and was sold to Sassuolo. Cutrone looks perfectly competent in the EPL, at a very young age. He too was sold off. They also sold De Sciglio, who, as we have seen with Juve, is a fantastic player. There's also El Shaarawy, who they sold before he could hit his peak. His career took a turn for the worse, but he's still better than most of their attacking options today.
For those that think Milan's academy isnt producing the same level of talent in the 10s:
Aubameyang, De Sciglio, Romagnoli, Donnarumma, El Shaarawy, Saponara, Locatelli, Felicioli, Merkel, Calabria, Cristante, Darmian etc.
Heck the academy even let go of guys like Ghiglione, who is one of the best young prospects in the league right now!
All great players, some world class even, all better than (or the best in) their current starting XI, half of which had the potential to be world class, only to be hindered by a lack of game time, loans or sales to (then) lesser sides.
