Just like the other characters from the original Octopath Traveler, her kit features many pieces from the Hunter kit such as Arrowstorm!

I didn't know Linde was a smart girl who chose intentionally. That makes me like the "Call ____" moves a lot more. It's a shame the power level is so low on them, though.

H'aanit is my favourite Traveler from the OG game, so I'm definitely pulling for her simply for the nostalgia. Whenever I make a new savefile I start with her, I also always go the rather unconventional route of making her an elemental attacker (Sorcerer H'aanit is by far my favourite character/class combination in the game due to all her versatility and also the cool sprite).
As for the Tikilen Cup, I stuck to your guide and managed to beat her on my second try (I blundered the first one early on when I absent-mindedly bonked one of her allies during their counter stance). Near the end of Tiki's HP bar, things got a bit unsettling when she wiped out half my party and I barely managed to chip away at her shields. The crit counter phase was also rather drawn out due to the fact that I only relied on Scarecrow for that.
With that being said, I want to thank you once more for making all this great content for us. I'm very much looking forward to your upcoming videos, especially in the case of us getting Cyrus as the next featured Traveler.
I originally wasnt going to pull for her and hold off for someone else, but decided I needed a better hunter desperately enough, and ended up pulling both her and Sophia as 5 stars, so i'd say I made out alright
Amazing overview, Shizu! Beat Tikilen (4th time now, planning to get her Accessory), and it's thanks to your guides and tips. I was able to do it with mostly 4.5 Stars, and some 4 Stars.
Haanit will definitely make dealing with Tikilen much faster, but I think I'll save up my Rubies for now (I have 1800 now, and I haven't done the new Traveler Quests).
had scarecrow, have good sword/spear units, have a lightning unit, but pulled for her anyways because of nostalgia (she was my starter in the original). got her 4.5 star version first try, do not regret this at all

Got lucky and got her on my first 10 pull. That was after i finished Master of All yesterday. I really enjoy the way her dialoge is written. Feels like a mix of english with german.

Well, i summoned for her because she’s my second favourite original 8 after Primrose. I didn’t get Peimrose, but i got H’aanit!!! And i love her!
Interesting, I honestly wasn't expecting you to say no and pass up for her, but thinking about it, it makes sense. I kept hearing all around about H'aanit being a great unit in terms of the Tikilen cup, but if that's all, then yea, understandable to skip. Especially too since I already have 5* Scarecrow, plus 4* Ashlan and 4* Camilla I'm working on leveling up, so I feel I'll be good with them!
I fortunately pulled Hasumi yesterday, though she's 4.5*, so I'll mostly likely be focused on using some rubbies to hopefully try and get lucky with a dupe pull and class her up that way if I can.

This is sad news for me. I'm F2P so I'm really being stingy with when I pull and she was definitely one of the OG cast members I have an attachment to. I remember early on everyone saying she was better than Scarecrow, but her kit is otherwise a bit of a let down and I don't think I'll be pulling afterall

Got her, second pull, also my class up for Sigrid and Iris. The saving was totally worth it.

I was going to try and get her but I've heard that Chloe is one of the best bow users so maybe I'll wait.
Felt very lucky as I got her 5 star on my second 10 roll.
Okay I actually have a legit question this time (I hope…).
What’s the best way to gear up your units? For example I try to keep up with the latest armor with each chapter, but I’m constantly torn between choosing P. Defense or E. Defense., or balanced gear.
Is it best to try to keep the defenses balanced out, or should I be leaning hard into whatever the unit’s base stat is higher?
I outline my personal methodology in my Weapon Guide (it's towards the start of the video if you want to check that out), but the tl;dr is I buy 4 of everything so that at any given point, I have 4 of the current best defensive equipment on 4 of my guys, and 4 of the 2nd best on the other 4.
Took me most of the day trying on and off, but was able to take down Tikilen without H'aanit or Viola.
I so far have 5* Scarecrow, 4* Bertrand, 4* Camilla, 3.5 Lucetta, and no Ashlan. Not sure if H'aanit is worth the risk since I have no Ashlan to insure a crit attack if I ever go against Tikilien.
Hey Shizukatz. Random question. Do you know if there is a website out there to see the kits of unreleased units? Specifically I’m wanting to know what Ophilia’s kit will look like…but I can’t seem to find anything online from the JP side.

So my whole generalist team is 5* with at least one 5* in every class except a hunter. I have scarecrow and H'aanit at 4.5* both a appropriately level 65. The rest of the party is high to mid 70's. I have beat half of the current battle tested fights, and just have the finals left on the two currently available tournaments. Who should I rank up between the two? Thanks for the help! I'm f2p BTW.
For tournaments you definitely do not want to be taking a generalist team; it is highly recommend to raise specific units that perform well in those specific fights. I have guides for both tournament finals that explain the best units to train (including 4*s, since a lot of them are VERY useful).
I WANT to roll for her, but looking at how many rubies I have left I'm realizing that it wouldn't be smart for me to even try.
I'll try to save for step-ups and limited banners, I guess. Wish these banners weren't coming in so fast, I'd even try whaling for her if I had any sort of idea what was on the horizon and knew that I'd have the funds to get characters I absolutely need if necessary.

I don't have Scarecrow so I tried my luck with a 10 pull and got her! I'm not ready yet for Tikilen since my higher unit is at LVL 50. On that note, is leveling up to 80 the best way to get exp? I'm still learning. Thanks
I'm still learning as well. My highest unit is at like 56 despite the fact that I don't get much time to play and grind. But rerolling the Cait ads made a huge difference for me. You first want to get someone at lvl 51 then reroll the ads until you get a chubby Cait. It might take a while if you're unlucky as it's only a 5% to be chubby Cait. It gives 100k XP. You reroll the ads by just force closing the game once the Cait battle starts. You also will have a chance of running into them as random encounter anywhere but they probably will flee before you can break them unfortunately.

@@SonOfRebirth812 and on lvl 71 the ladder for the cait ladder goes up again ( you will find the 50k exp cait at minimum then , 300 k exp at maximum) - so its just my opinion but after i went lvl 71 with my fiore ( not levelled anybody else by that time ) to step up the cait findings again it went suuuuper fast getting the other characters xp as well
1200 gems (40 rolls) later and got nothing.
No other 5 star, hoping I get some better luck in the future banners.

Holding out for Cyrus myself. Halfway to the 6k needed to guarantee him, and hoping I have plenty of time to get that amount before he shows up. I MAY wait on a Step Up with him though depending on if we see a Step Up for Hannit or one of the earlier post-Tressa 5* units, since IIRC we had one with Tressa on it recently. Might not save much, but it'd give me more time if the Step Ups prove to be predictable.
As for Tikilen, still working my way up but given my strongest team is a bit more focused on Ice and helping out Sophia who is my strongest unit at 86...probably won't beat her anytime soon. Need to check my roster and see if I have any of the other recommended 4 Star units as Lucetta is the main one I'm using as my Bow coverage atm.

I pulled twice for her and got loads of nothing. Lesson of the day, if you are having a rough day a few pulls aren't likely to change that.
I keep getting the battle before Tikilen to red then he just wipes me everytime. Im probaly going in a little early as all my units are between 67-60 in the fight

I managed to beat the tikilen fight on basically my second try
My team was
Gilderoy - Ashlan
Theo - Camilla
Lucetta - Viola
Scarecrow - Millard
My strat was really standard tbh, gilderoy spamming provoke and counter
Ashlan only switching for break damage and the crit phase
Theo spamming regen + wind res and the ocassional thunder nuke
Camilla and lucetta for multi breaks
Viola spamming only debuffs
And millard as a second healer + light damage
I had to reset a couple times on my first turn due to bad luck and lucetta dying too early but as soon as turn 1 was over it was just a matter of paying attention
I will be skipping, the only ones of the main cast I’ll probably be pulling for will be Ophelia and Cyrus. As for the Tikilen cup I made it all the way to the semi finals of the main tourney, having trouble with that guy, will need to work on my DPS and building up more bow users
Nah, not going to rolling for her this time, she was probably my least favorite character for her victorian english which I hardly understood sometimes in og... Linde seems nice add-on, but I am pretty sure my Scarecrow would be enough for Tikilen, I might get 4star (Ashlan/Betrand/Lucetta) fill in the last quote for Tikilen cup dps
I beat Tikilen on the 2nd try without watching any tactics beforehand, just knowing her weaknesses and that I need a lot of Wind resistance. Tressa taunting everyone, Hasumi casting SP regen and Theo buffing with Regen and Wind res, were enough to carry the fight. Tressa Awakening 3 never dropped below 2k hp and was taking ALL hits, except the aoe sword one (so with Awakening 1 it's probably as doable).
I would have something to discuss if it wasn't for 3,000 rubies spent and still no H'aanit😂
I spent 3300 so I feel your pain. Luckily she was in that last 10 pull, and I got another 5 star right before that, so I guess it was worth it in the end?

I don't have Scarecrow, but still, I won't pull for her and prefer to save my rubies for step UP or Cyrus. Lucette and Camilla are already good enough for current content,.
her sword and spear dmg make her look versatile, but you can't expect her 1-hit skill to be a sword/spear breaker in the mid-game. But it is still a good nuke. This is because in CotC, the weakness bonus stack with the break bonus (250%+200%=450%), which is different from the original game.
No willpower, did a multi. H'aanit rewarded me by dropping twice on the first two slots though.
