“HE’S SENTIENT AND MOBILE!!! Run!”😜
So jelly!!! Best wishes and don’t forget us as you walk away!
I couldn't stop smiling the whole video, this is so amazing.
Same! I do happy for him!
@@juliaandersen5716 yeah me too so proud of him
Right?
@@juliaandersen5716 hey babe you married please yes no
At one point you walked out a door way and my immediate thought was "welp he just ran off with the thing!" LOL. Looks pretty awesome and a total game-changer for you and others with similar disabilities! But yes agreed that beeping would drive me insane too.
I thought he was gone too lol freaking awesome
This could be life-changing for so many people. You look badass like RoboCop. I would imagine it's quite expensive. Hopefully, insurance will get on board.
Well, it should. It's not his fault, that he can't walk properly. So insurance has to pay.
@@Xenerus See, that's how it SHOULD be, but time and time again insurance does tend to claim disability treatment as cosmetic. I know I have seen people that can't afford prosthetics because their insurance would say, " We will cover a wheelchair, but your prosthetic is a cosmetic choice".
@@John-nx1ll Yeah, that's the deal... But when did things not get unfair...
@@Xenerus as long as there have been humans on this planet someone was treated unfairly so I definitely get that
Technology is a wonderful thing. I remember hearing about "robot legs" when scientists were first starting to experiment with this kind of tech. It's amazing to see how far the tech has come in just a few years and honestly brought a few tears to my eyes, when the music started and you were walking around with it outside. Just IMAGINE where this kind of tech is in a couple of decades and the possibilities it can provide for people who need it!
This is SUPER cool and SUPER exciting. I'm really interested to see what the bespoke one looks like, how much smaller and lighter it is, and what exercises will help strengthen back and core for standing that haven't been able to be used as much.
I think it'll be most interesting to see if this increases mobility and options...*without* increasing pain over the rest of the day and the days following.
You did GREAT. And that poor woman, "Hold one of the rails, please..." and you going along and just, well, NOPE.
Welcome to cyborg club 🥳🥳🥳 It works so similar to my prosthetic leg with stance control, gyroscope, resistance and roll over with the foot. You’r gait is so good and I’m sure will get more natural to you the more you use it. I can imagine it does feel heavy and will zap your energy levels but you will get used to it. So so happy for you Richard have to say watching you gave me goosebumps 😭😭😭 🤗🦿🤗
*Straps on the device for 2.76 seconds*
Richard: proceeds to sprint through the office 😂
This was amazing I'm glad you found something that you think will work for you. My favourite line from this video was "half man half microwave" 🤣 I chucked a little at that.
Per chance the beeping could be replaced with flatulent sounds; that would be a real gas. Cheers!
Man, these CZcams algorithms are bang on! I have a friend that has a paralyzing spinal injury from a mountain biking accident 3 weeks ago, I will be sure to refer him and his family to your channel when he's ready. Thanks for the great content!
Did you post about your friend on reddit?
@@thomasledesma4439 no, but I went to his GoFundMe page and also looked at some of the online articles about his accident (he is well known in DJ circles) so I figure that probably set off the algorithms. He's coming along really good, awake, recovered from a bout of pneumonia, and is now back on FB for his own status updates, fingers crossed!
Robocop! "Dead or alive you're coming with me!" LOL
I am a T8 incomplete break SCI an today in therapy my right leg moved on it own. Thanks for your videos, I am old but only 3 years injured. Fighting sores and wounds but that is our world. Again thanks you helped me with your videos.
to every single person with some form of a disability, know this. You guys are the strongest fighters out there and no matter what happens always believe in yourself. You are the greatest driving force for yourselves, and I hope you prove every single person wrong and show your strength.
loads of love!!!!!
pretty cool, will be interested to know how you feel in recovery after. I always feel like these sort of trials are pretty artificial. When I was getting power wheels for my chair the company was happy enough to loan me a chair with the wheels for a weekend which was really cool to be able to run it through it’s paces completely. If something like that is possible I recommend it. It’s hard to find the problems something could have when the situation is so guided by someone selling it. Better to know what the issues are ahead of time and make a fully informed decision if you can.
You are so right, it’s always best to be able to wear it for a couple of days out in the real world rather than a controlled setting. It’s similar with prosthetic legs as soon as you get home you realise the setting needs tweaking so you have to go back in to the prosthetists. 🙄 Have to say it looks fantastic though 🤗🤗
Congratulations!!! Thank you for taking us along with you.
Get him to one million guys!
That's insane !! I can feel that strength and determination through the screen. You're genuinely unstoppable !!!
Excellent progress! I had to try the earlier prototype. I think they call it The Frankenstein. It was heavy too. But I feel like it’s roughly the same weight of what my old muscle mass was in my leg before and I didn’t think about that back then. You’ll likely forget that you have it on if you get the custom one made for you. Gerry helped me out a lot too. Rethinking the basics of walking. Almost like being a toddler but with an engineer as a coach instead of parents. I really hope this works out for you and this can happen. I’m on month 2 with my fitted C-Brace. It makes a world of difference. And it doesn’t weight as much. The one thing I can suggest... make sure you get good shoes. You’ll have to have two different size shoes for when you wear the C-Brace. I went straight from the VA to the shoe store and got new shoes to celebrate... and added a lift to the opposite foot to keep me forward on my toes. That whole... “feel like you’re falling forwards” helps. Best wishes! Keep rocking forward and upward!
Congratulations! That was amazing. I can't even imagine how emotional that must have been for you or how much pain you went through later on.
I'm so excited for you!!!
This is so exciting to watch! I work in PT and the part of my job I love the most is seeing people achieve milestones after all the hard work, and this video gave me all those same feels. I’m so excited for you!!!!!!
Omg! That is so freaking cool! This brace looks like something you would see in one of The Terminator movies!
Idk how you say anything motivational to this guy, he’s literally the GOAT of his specific situation
Crying with joy!! Ty for sharing this video.
I got stood up today by a close friend and this put me in a good mood. So happy for you!!!
Amazing! I had tears watching it. There is hope for us. And you rocked the trial version like you owned it. God is good and so is technology. Incomplete Paras with full leg movement will be walking again! ❤️
This thing is SO SWEET! I am so happy that you are getting the opportunity to get one of these things! I hope this brace is a life changer for you! Best of luck
Good luck. You made me cry. Your a wonderful man you have guts . Your making the world a better place for others. Keep up the great work.
So wonderful to see you rocking that brace! Nailing the trial, and if you get your own fitted brace and learning the ropes, I can easily see you walking a lot!
Great stuff Richard! Look forward to seeing more of your C-brace journey.
This is very cool 😎 Like your wheelchair, it’s gonna take some time to get used to it. I can totally relate to paying for it later in pain.
This is groundbreaking! I laughed at him saying "get your fanny back" because it means something a little different in the UK, in the same bodily region 😂 I too have had a spinal cord injury, this brings so much hope ♥️ You only realise how uneven the ground is outside when you're trying to walk and can't feel your feet! You made it look so smooth
This is very exciting and I’m looking forward to seeing the progress you make 😊
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
Your bravery and desire to achieve some kind of normalcy is so inspiring! E for effort!
My nerdy brain is just flipping right now, because what they've done is so simple, but no one's ever thought of it. And it's soo awesome to see you trying this!!
This is amazing, so cool to see you walking around and laughing. Hopefully this changes the game for everyone with sci and gives us hope, sure is a hell of a lot better than being stuck in a wheelchair! Keep up the great videos guys 👍👍💪💪😁!
This is simply amazing Richard!!!!
This is so amazing I’m sooooo happy for you 💕
"Part microwave" 😂
Wow! This is so cool! Your walking was so good as well. And your confidence!! You just wanted to go fast fast fast! Haha, good on you. Looking forward to seeing the future version of this trial!
It is so amazing how you handle it. I have been following your chanel for a while and I only have good and very strong anergy coming from you.
I wish you all the best in life because your owned.
A very big hug from The Canary Islands in Spain.

Congrats Richard I'm glad it's working out with the brace 😀, yay.
I was totally cheering you on! Pure joy watching you walking like what seemed easy! Very excited for you! #wheelstoroboto
I am so thrilled for you that this equipment is working for you.I know in my situation I will never be able to walk upright, but if you can that I feel so happy for you. I am rodded from S1up to T9 (Ithink) with 2 sets of rods connected so I am permanently bent over and fall a lot even with a walker, so I went to a seating clinic for an ultralight wheelchair so I can have some freedom on my own, but as usual health Ins. said nope because they bought me a "lightweight wheelchair" that weighs in at 47 pounds and wont even fit in the back of my car, and I can't lift it. SO after 4 years of being a prisoner at home I am continuing to be one. There are too many people who fall through the cracks when it comes to DME and it disgusts me. But watching you get out and doing things does lift my spirits. I just don't get why they wont get me the wheelchair I need, One I can handle and one that doesn't hurt me. I have contacted so many places that say they will help, but because I live in the US they said nope. What happened to taking care of people at home? Social security turned me down, local help turned me down, it makes you feel like you don't matter anymore. I was also not impressed that the doctor I was sent to for my SS eval. was not in a handicapped building. The handicapped parking was at a set of 10 steps. What a load of crap.
But you keep going. You are awesome, as well is Gemma (Wheels No Heels). Love both you guys and I have learned so much.
you inspired me a lot when I watched you a whole while ago. I just came back to check up since I am not that much into youtube videos anymore. Taught me that people can live a positive life with bad things happening to them. Also he's a confident gangsta.
Nice, this channel came into recomanded today, subbed
All the best.
That's so fucking cool, man! You go, Richard, so psyched to see you this excited again.
Awespme congratz man good job
He explained it every well actually
This was really interesting and so exciting for the potential!
Also, I have chronic issues with my knees (as yet undiagnosed) but they can often feel weak so when you said it was scary to buckle your knee because you were expecting to fall, I knew exactly how you felt and suddenly the way it supports you made so much more sense :D
Awesome video congratulations
What a fast progress.
awesome glad it worked for you!
This is awesome!
Wow amazing tool🙌🏾
Sounded almost Robocop when walking. Heck yeah man, this is awesome.
Hell yeah brother!
This is what those with BMD need, the best tech ever.. Amazing.
Amazing. This will help so many people. It would be incredible for kids because they are so good at adapting. It's exciting to see what future technology could be.
Motivation!
So happy for you man. :) progress is measured in baby steps
True inspiration
Congrats for this opportunity!😁
Excellent. Really good walking gait too, considering it's your first trial and it's a prototype.
This is totally an amazing video congratulations I hope that it works out for you.
Dude! You took some steps without holding on to anything!!!! Hell yeah! So happy for you!! 👊🏼
Amazing video cool technology loved it
Omg this is the dream for my knees 😍
Exciting!
What a fun video! I enjoyed it
Hi, your story is a lot like mine, and then very different. I've been hit by a truck too, while in my wheelchair, people accuse me of faking cause I can walk, I haven't been able to date, sooooo many things. thank you for being an inspiration to me!
This is so awesome
Amazing 👍🏻👏🏻
Wow amazing
I need this so much
Wow this is great!
Dude you did so well!!
Perfect patient for this trial :-)
Wow the tech that is becoming available is unbelievably fantastic. I’ve recently backed off using my walker as much around the apartment and gone back to using my wheelchair in the house. My pain levels have dropped dramatically or rather my pain isn’t overriding my pain meds.
This is amazing!!!!!!!!
Goose bumps!!!!
Look at you!! This is so awesome!! 👍👍👍
This is awesome
❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏I’m so proud of you! 😭😭😭😭😢 Tears of joy!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
