I think that you pioneered the way for larger size catamarans as private yachts. These days there are a few companies to build larger size catamarans, but I am sure that you were the first person to build one, not to mention that you built it in the backyard of your house and also a long way away from the ocean. My dream is to live on a large yacht but my health and lack of moneyhas pretty much put a stop to that dream. Like you said yourself that you saw an older man who owned a boat barely being able to get on his boat and move around freely , well that is pretty much where I am at in my life. As an 17 years old shipbuilding highschool student I only have 4 words : YOU ARE MY HERO!!!!
Next year I have to present an entire blueprint of a ship desing by my self, I am thinking about sailing catamarans or trimarans of aluminum. I hope in 25 years from now I will built one my self and travel around the world. I was also thinking about electric ships because today there are some solar powered catamarans that have crossed the Atlantic Ocean so maybe in a couple of years I could combine wind with solar on my desing.
    You are a legend!
P.S: Sorry for my grammar i am still working on it, greetings...

Check out Silent Yachts. They build from 60'-120' solar powered yachts.

Clyde, as welder/fabricator myself, hats off and a bow to your talent but even more your determination to see it through! Outstanding craftmanSHIP! I could never dream of tackling something of this size especially with no real background in boat building!!
I am curious though why the videos are just now coming out to be shared? So many questions… You honestly should look into writing a book detailing the man, the yacht, and the mission to succeed and publicize it to no end. Todays youngens need a break from games and internet and witness stuff like this! Forgive me if you’ve already done so, but if not it’s our job to hand down our talents for kids to learn from, it’s our right to reap the bragging rights of accomplishments, and let’s face it the money return could help mend some of the hardships and blood spilt to get to those achievements.. Once again, LOVE IT!

Thanks for your questions, I never thought about doing a book or movie or even youtube videos it was just something I wanted to build. Now I've had so many people asking me to do these videos. I put it off for years. I didn't even take many photos to document, most are from friends and family. I wanted to share some of my skills with my son but he planned on being a ball player and wasn't interested.

What a project and what an accomplishment. I have read through many of the comments (not all) which have caused me to reflect that however long you took to build this - it may have taken considerably longer if you were building in the time of You Tube and documented the build in detail.😉 Looking forward to more videos as you release them.😀👍
