Good morning my dear friend, it’s a beautiful bright, clear day today. Yesterday we got a dusting of snow. It is still not as cold as it should be for this time of the year. It has not been cold enough to make thick ice on the lakes for ice fishing and there have been some tragic accidents of people falling through the ice. It’s important that people check the thickness of the ice before they go on it. Once again enough weather reporting.
I have to tell that I enjoyed this video, the journals you showed were wonderful. When you are speaking about the bee 🐝 journals that you will be creating you sound so excited and it makes me excited too. I can’t wait till you start and I don’t care how long it takes as I love watching you create your beautiful journals. I thank you for always brightening up my day. Hi Gayle, I've always found that the oils from your hands tend to bead up the ink and repel. Many stampers use embossing ink to prime their stamps as the stickiness helps to hold onto the ink when used for the first time. Another way to prime your stamps is to ink and stamp off several times before stamping onto your project. Just a suggestion. 🙂
Oh my goodness. Both of those journals are beautiful but I have to say that bee one you bought is a work of art. Lots of time put into that one!

Hi Gayle, love the hodgepodge videos…you do pack them with lots of inspiration. Those Green stamps do bring back memories. My Mom had a tin full of them in the kitchen when I was little. I remember we would paste them into booklets. 💚👏🏻

You are so decisive as you decide what to do with what. I usually can’t decide and then put the item back in the stash.
Whatever you decide to use for the long skinny stamp. (I thank a previous viewer suggested a ruler.) be sure it has a grid or lines on the ruler to help with getting a straight image.

Hi Gayle, I’ve used my new, unwarped plates from my die cutting machine to stamp with oversized acrylic stamps. You can still see through for placement. Really enjoy your videos❤

Hi Gayle, I too get the AARP magazine. I have used the bulletin, more like a newspaper, to make a journal cover. Open it to the middle and lay it flat. Turn each edge into the middle and crease. You can cover it in fabric and glue it together or sew around it. Add a signature and you are recycling an item that comes monthly and would be thrown away. Hugs from Texas.

You will have so much fun at your 50th class reunion! Yes, everybody will walk in thinking the same thing hahaha, where did all these old people come from? Hahaha I had mine last summer and now several of us gals meet up about once a month for lunch and general chit chat. So fun to find out what everyone has done in the past 50 years. I went to school for all 12 years with most of my class so there are memories from our childhoods. Keep us posted on how things go! I'm so glad that you had a fun Christmas! Hi Gayle! I thought I had just the answer to your predicament with the long stamps, but so did many others!😂 But... I'd use your Tim Holtz ruler, it's transparent and it has lines so your stamp will be straight. Also, I think your eco dyed papers that you're not so happy with might gain a little from inking all around with a yellow or yellowy green ink, or any colour that matches whats going on on the paper.
I'm enjoying your bee-thoughts and crafty ideas immensly!

How about a journal using just eco dyed papers and things? I think with all of your beautiful eco supplies it would be a glorious journal and meets your unhording goal.
The journals you found as inspiration are very nice! I'm sure you will enjoy your 50th class reunion. We had our 60th Memorial week end 2023. There's always a homecoming parade and classes having reunions usually have a float. One of our guy classmates has a long flatbed trailer and puts 2 rows of chairs back to back for us to sit on. We did the parade route, went back to the site of the old high school. where we started, kind of played musical chairs and switched sides we were sitting so we could see and been seen by both sides of the parade route. There is a gathering in the park after the parade and there are food trucks so you can eat and visit with other homecoming people. We had an evening catered meal on Saturday and a noon catered lunch on Sunday and said our farewells. Our classmate who organizes the reunions does a bang up job! She usually has a fun program at the evening meal. This year the foreign exchange student we had our senior year was from Chile spoke. She has been to many reunions. Her "Dad" celebrated his 100th birthday that week end. She is a gynecologist in Chile and has taught at a university also. Over the years the clicks that might have been during high school years are no longer and everyone is equal and we enjoy our times together.

I've never made them before. But this will have to wait a while, I have two Happy mail journals to make. and a Daphe's Dairy journal. AARP, that is sooooo funny. I have been using those magazines & newsletters for my base “book” pages (still can’t kill a book), lol.
Buttreys Groceery Store was in my town too as a young girl. Its gone as well, so is the old Pamida, Alco and Ben Franklins, those were the best. Some of my fondest memories as a child shopping with grandma came from them ❤

Big stamps are tricky!! A stamp platform is an awesome tool for big stamp stamping but putting a stamp image side up on a glass pane or mat and pressing the paper to the image works as well. Thanks for all the inspiration Gayle!!💛 🐝 🖤 🐝 💛

I like the way you promote "kindness" and "gratitude" on your channel. :) I have a journal with squares for each day. Rather than jotting down what I did that day, I try to jot down how I can be grateful for that activity. This has helped me to stay motivated to keep journaling. For long stamps use a ruler 😉
Did write on the back of the lace card u put in your journal so u know 1 it’s your work & 2 why u did it? Stampers tip..put the ink pad lid inside up then when u r done using the ink between stamping u can put the inky side in the lid. Hard to explain, but basically the ink pad surface stays in the down position so u don’t have to flip the inky part and risk dropping it onto your project. Hope that is helpful
Gayle put those long edge stamps on your ruler. That should work.
You could try one of your cutting plates from die cut machine. I have done this successfully. Take good care and have a blessed day!
