This list of military leaks on war thunder forums is incomplete. You can help by expanding it!
You mean by enumerating more cases or by leaking even more documents?
Well, that was my cheap laugh for the day. Thanks!
What do you mean incomplete? I can prove otherwise! **Leaks nuclear codes just to prove a petty point**
@@LuizAlexPhoenix The codes are all 0000000.
@@LuizAlexPhoenix The code is CPE1704TKS. It's input into the CRM-114 Discriminator and transmitted via the AE-35 unit.
I like how each animated series has its own distinctive minion of a sort. Yahtz now has dog imps, JM8 has Ludo, and Frost has...sentient ice cubes? I mean hey, plush for the merch gods.
I do miss the Imps, but those are some strong designs :D
I assume it's a reference to how he's also in charge of Cold Takes. I like it, feels more unique.
I mentally labeled them as Blockheads, due to them being ice blocks.
Petition to call them Chron-icicles?
@@LexYeen I like Coldtakers better
To quote a famous African warlord: "Just think, there's someone out there right now getting court martialed over a video game".
"Hey, hey, people..."
" S s e t h h e r e ."

I love how one of the most consistent threats to international security is the nitpicking of the userbase to a free-to-play game.
well it has its benefits *stares at the ukranian bradley commander who knew how to kill a t90 from playing video games*
If you're a foreign agent, you have an interesting dilemma. On the one hand, you know where classified documents are going to be posted, but on the other hand, you know that everyone else knows it too.
It's almost like we are all in this together
You can make it work for you though. Why not put a finger on the scales? Pay for some war thunder ads yourself (or rather, have your agency do it for you), but target them to a specific country and run them in a specific language. Oh sure when stuff leaks those other guys will Know Things, but they'll be things they knew already, and things now you know too!
@@abdulmasaiev9024 I dont think posting ads is necessary at this point. news broke out (13 times mind you) that nerds have egos to be right and will do anything to prove the other wrong. I'm sure every government 3 letter agency has a bot actively sleuthing that forum every hour just to get an easy technical advantage.
If you want those juicy documents, all you have to do is vehemently argue in favor of stats that are wrong. Someone will need to correct you.
@@ZexMaxwell It's not about getting the agencies to monitor the forums. It's about populating the forums with ever more nerds who come SPECIFICALLY from the place whose documents you want leaked.
I like that all of these instances amount to "I want realism in my games and, in order to prove I know about said realism, I'm going to completely disregard reality."
I've seen military documents get leaked on War Thunder forums 167 times, AND IT KEEPS GETTING FUNNIER EVERY SINGLE TIME I SEE IT!!!!
DOD's gonna start asking service members if they play War Thunder whenever they're giving out security clearances.
@@ChristianNeihart They should skip straight to the point and just have active service members working with WarThunder to ensure perfect realism, that way they can at least control it.
@@ChristianNeihart From what I've heard, they actually do
@legomaniac213 "Not to mention you're talking to a soon-to-be-dead guy, now what do you think? Do you think they're qualified?" ;)
@@ChristianNeihartI know some weapon manufacturers are
It is hilarious how people get so passionate in a forum while arguing that they feel the need to prove they are right by leaking classified documents. I strongly doubt winning the argument is worth the jail time but I congratulate them on winning it anyway.
No price is too great when the reward is accuracy.
@@grzegorzbrzeczyszczykiewic563 Nah, the reward is being able to say "I told you so." The most intoxicating and beguiling motivation to argue known to man and woman.
@@grzegorzbrzeczyszczykiewic563 The accuracy of a firing squad ? (it's a joke)
Ironically the developers have stated they will not make alterations based on classified documents, so proving the game is inaccurate by leaking actually guarantees they will never make it correct.
As the old adage goes, "A win is a win."
Must include pyrrhic victories.
I'm so glad The Stuff of Legends can continue with this new series. Frost's voice is still amazing, and I love his little ice cube minions. It's amazing what people will do to win an argument or correct a minor structural inaccuracy. This is why suspension of disbelief is so important.
Shhh! This is not Pokemon!
This was probably my favorite series in the other channel, bar Zero Punctuation
I think you'll find that the suspension found on a given model of Belief actually has little impact on its combat capacity, it's clearly stated in this official Belief engineering manual that-
On one hand, I was hoping that the change from Imps to Dogs would turn the meta-narrative "Frost babysits the imps for Yahtzee" into "Frost dogsitting for Yahtzee (with predictably mischievous results)"
But on the other hand, I do like that Frost has a proper mascot character of his own now with the ice cubes, and not being stuck reading bedtime stories for dogs gives the animators more to play around with
From all the buzz about warthunder players leaking secret documents, I thought 13 was pretty low. But then, midway through, I realized these were military secrets, which the number of leaks should be 0.
This only cements Cunningham's Law, which states that "the best way to get the right answer on the internet is to post the wrong answer."
Pedantry is like "shave-and-a-haircut" to Roger Rabbit with some people
I'm waiting for the day militaries start paying Gaijin Entertainment not to include their stuff.
I just appreciate so much of not just the great editing and animations but just how tight the writing is.
On any other channel this would be 45 minutes long.
As much as i do like sitting down to a rigorous essay or analysis, it's earnestly refreshing just getting exactly what i needed from what i clicked on
SW's strength is brevity, which is also wit
Kind of crazy to think that some countries probably have agents sitting on forums, just in case discussions get too heated and someone either leaks their information, or information they themselves might like to know.
Consider also: agents not merely sitting on forums, but actively antagonizing anyone who seems to have an issue with any of the in-game vehicle's abilities, just in case they have some sort of information that they might not share unless properly goaded.
Eh. If a document is being issued to every dude who drives a given tank, you may reasonably assume that any nation-state who cares to read it will have already gotten a copy.
I was just thinking that. I'd be amazed if some governments haven't realised that gamers, particularly military gamers, are some of the biggest "um, achtuamally!" people in the world, who also lack anything approaching discretion or subtlety and would happily commit treason if it meant winning a pointless, zero-stakes internet argument with a stranger 🤣
@@peterclarke7240 Cue in that kid from the National Guard leaking classified documents on Discord because someone called him a beta. 😂
@@peterclarke7240 Um, actually, it’s “um, actually,” not “um, achtuamally.”
The first time someone told me about this happening I was certain they were joking. It's wild to me that it has continued happening enough for it to become a meme. Almost as wild as how important it is for some people to win arguments with randos on the internet.
It's very important I win the arguments with randoms online. It's dextrimental to my health if I don't.
I like to think the gremlins now looking like ice cubes is his alcoholism starting to manifest in ways that borderline concern.
I'd love a deep-dive into Neopets economy shenanigans, since I think the new team has made some changes to make formerly-rare status symbol items into common playthings. Or mostly, Neopets has a very storied history and anything the Second Wind team cares to comment on for a legacy game, which has been both the best and worst of online communities (sometimes simultaneously) would be an interesting tale indeed! :D
People make games did a talk about neopets about 5 years ago that was quite enlightening.
Come to think of it, a retrospective on that entire era of online subscription or purchase-based games would be apropos. Club Penguin, Neopets, Wizard 101, all the games that stoked many a playground punch-up in the oughts.
Ah, the times when selling a piece of bread could net you 5M Neopoints, but that still wasn't enough to afford anything from the market.
What a memory blast, I remember that what a strange thing.
IT LITERALLY JUST HAPPENED AGAIN
Man, who else thinks this vid is gonna be obsolete within the next few months? :P
days
Well they can just change the title to: (The First) 13 Times People Leaked Military Documents on War Thunder
14 hours is more than enough to have one or two leakes there
it doesn't say the *only* 13 times
I will give it a few hours
And the funny thing is that serious sim people (at least when it comes to aircraft) *despise* War Thunder because they say it's balanced more for mouse and keyboard than regular flight controllers (joystick, throttle, etc.), they usually prefer DCS or even older (and modded) games like Falcon BMS.
This Chronicle is the stuff of legends are made off.
I’m so excited this is continuing. I loved my beloved EVE getting a spotlight and learning about those moments from WOW and EverQuest was really cool. Really hope you consider the Battle of B-R5RB (10’s of thousands of players fighting in a battle that cost around 330,000 usd after the dust settled) as a topic. Your videos became my second go to after ZP. So excited
i was at JV1V-O. it's not a fleet battle until the servers start choking.
here's to the finest crew in starfleet.
@@louisduarte8763 ooh yeah it has been out for a minute hasn’t it? and maybe the ending of Star Wars Galaxies as an MMO could be a topic.
@@LexYeen cheers! And yeah it ain’t a party till the TiDi kicks in!
This ties in to that internet law, where the easiest way to get an answer to a question isn't to ask the question, but to post the wrong answer. We love correcting each other more than we love being helpful. It's called Moore's Law.
Moore's Law pertains to computers. You must be talking about Poe's Law
Nah, Poe's Law is about discerning trolls and parodies. This is Murphy's Law.
Frost's new avatar and ice companions are so cute
From babysitting Yahtzee’s…android imps at naptime to running a newspaper with sentient ice cubes I say welcome back chronicle (formally stuff of legends)
I genuinely cannot help but laugh every time a headline pops up on screen that ends with "- again"
The story of RuneScape's collapse from a combat overhaul followed by the creation of parallel but distinct 2007 version of the game before the overhaul might make a good story.
Supposedly the 2007 version only exists because of a long lost build of the game that wasn't supposed to be saved
Plus Jagex is likely to be sold for £900m pretty soon.
For something like this to happen once is astounding. Twice or three times defies belief. But thirteen times?! You’d almost wonder if people are doing it on purpose now to be part of the “legacy”
Oh, so is this the "replacement" for Stuff of Legends? That was my favourite series for the brief period of time it was being made, before it got cancelled in "the move." Since then we hadn't had a show that was focused on quite the same sort of stories as Stuff of Legends, until now I guess. Eagerly awaiting more!
"If he did exist before I doubt he exists now"
Beautiful stuff
You could cover the MinecraftForFree story? Basically a well known griefing team was hosting a website where users could, as the name suggests, play minecraft for free.
They were told to take the site down, and in response challenged Notch to a game of Unreal Tournament. I think the wager was if the griefing team won, they'd receive capes, but if theyblost they'd commission a rap for Notch? They lost.
I follow some military history channels and it is amazing how much people like to get all the little details completely accurate or make a huge fuss out of it, all while missing the larger picture of the topic.
YES! I'm so stoked to see you guys branching out and creating different animated series. Y'all are absolutely flourishing now that you're free from the constraints of the past, keep it up!
I'd love to see a story about the debacle that was the Theatre of War multiplayer mode for Tom Clancy's EndWar: Ubisoft tried to do the three-way faction Risk thing similar to what they later did with For Honor, but several design decisions ended up culminating in a situation where a few weeks into its first campaign nearly 60% of the player base was literally unable to play.
I came away from this, loving the little ice cubes. They're so cute.
Only Frost can take a topic I literally could not even remotely care about and still make it entertaining.
I'll watch anything this dude puts out.
I have been waiting for a SW version of "The stuff of legends" for so long. Extremely excited for the premiere!
I have been SO excited for this segment to come back! I love these stories and the narrator, Sebastian if I read the credits correctly, has a wonderful speaking voice for this kind of content. I look forward to more, if only it were more than once a month!
I would like to note of one potentially missed that I'd heard rumor of early on in the game's life. Apparently, Russia at some point accidentally declassified documents about one of their older tanks a year too early. Apparently within the day a Russian user had found this out, acquired said document, and posted it onto the Russian forums to argue for why the tank should be added/changed.
It was a while ago, probably like 2018, and since it supposedly happened on the Russian side of the forums so it's hard to confirm. But for me at least that was the earliest I'd ran into WT leaks.
First: this video made me cringe as someone who had a security clearance from military service.
Second: the opening animation was FANTASTIC! Y'all went all out for that.
Third: I know I mentioned it on the other channel, but would you be able to talk about the WoW Blood Pandemic and possibly its repercussions in the world, both after it was resolved in-game and in the time of the covid-19 pandemic?
The title alone is gold, comedy gold if it wasn't the truth
Aaand, two days after publication, it's already out of date. Truly incredible.
Hooray, the return/revamp/rebrand of this series is finally here! Love the cube buddies 💖
Thank you so much for bringing this series back
Excellent choice of topic for the rebirth of a series. I look forward to more historical moments in gaming history from you. Thank you for what you do.

I've been begging for more of these stories, thanks so much!!!
I'd love to hear stories like the one about that weird Cooking Mama game situation. You know, the kind where people get slapped on the wrist for trade disagreements, the public has no idea what the truth is and then suddenly there's rumors about Cooking Mama datamining cryptocurrency in an 'illegal' game. Alternatively you could talk about all the weird shit PETA's gotten up to over the years. Love your work, Frost. Keep it coming.
This was fascinating. I will devour as much content like this as you are willing to make!
Thanks for the video, Frost & team
Love the story telling format, and I love the tiny ice cubes even more!
I'm so happy to see this series! Love the variation in presentation, and the cubes are cute. Fitting for the coldest takes.
Love your work as always!
it's so good to see this format back! also a bit surprised those leaks only happened 13 times, hearing about them throughout the years made me think it's even more common
This is ridiculously interesting and I can't wait for the next story they post.
So stoked for this!
Oh I'm so happy to see this! It's probably my favourite series out of all of them. So bizarre and funny.
The channel intro is so quick, neat, and slick. It's swish.
Stuff of Legends was my favorite show on the old channel, so happy it's back
This series is going to become the stuff of legends.
I deadass thought that happened just once, twice maybe.
But the video title alone is pure gold.
Amazing video, it’s hillarious how often this damn stuff happens
This was such an entertaining video, such a fun watch
Solid gold content! Please keep it coming!
The thing I'm most curious about is that whats the framing story this time. It used to be frost babysitting the zp imps
Given that Frost found one in the Design Mines holding a syringe, I'm curious too
Based on the attire, Chronicle seems to be based around a newspaper reporter looking for famous stories around video games.
Awesome! Stuff of Legends made me sub to escapist in the first place, and follow yall over here. Glad to see it back on the air!
I love this one. I knew about some of the stuff just from what made the news, but I didn't know there were multiple incidents across the world of people leaking stuff they shouldn't. I mean, I'm all for accuracy in games that are using real world weapons and the like, but I at least know it's a *game* and, thus, leniency with inaccuracies is to be expected. It's certainly not worth all the trouble one will get in for sharing that sort of information to randos on the internet.
I know it's been a week but might I suggest a video on stories like say, the development of Fallout New Vegas:
Studios brought in by larger companies to make a game on a huge time constraint with limited resources allowed, and with impossible-to-reach specific goals to meet, in order to maintain function or employment. The game falls hard at first, (because of those time constraints), and thus the company is fired, but, (in cases like New Vegas), the game actually becomes at minimum a cult classic, or at best...well...an across-the-board success, topping even the publisher's own works.
Like I know we've heard this story before, (even from Yahtzee I think with his "Let's all laugh at an industry that never learns anything, tee-hee-hee" sections), but stories like Obsidian's development crunch on New Vegas, with Bethesda to blame for it, still happen to this day in the gaming industry quite plainly.
And honestly, it's always fun to remind the so-called apex companies and publishers in the industry, about their screw-ups and personal failures, (and I don't mean personal like behind-the-scenes scandals, at least in this case). Cause I don't think anything Bethesda makes, Elder Scrolls or Fallout-wise, will ever reach even New Vegas's current status.
And considering some of the cosmetics added into 76 over the years of that game's service thus far, (like the NCR Ranger outfit and helmet from New Vegas), I feel like Bethesda has some guilt and regret over that egg-on-their-face moment, but not enough to directly, sincerely apologize to Obsidian, (unless their mutual parent, Microsoft ordered them to). It also doesn't help that even with Bethesda and Obsidian now under Microsoft, Obsidian will no doubt continue to design its own version of Fallout & Elder Scrolls as it were, with Blackjack & hookers. And good for them, to be quite frank. I don't expect Microsoft to tell Bethesda to hand over Fallout to Obsidian any time soon. I'd MORE likely expect Microsoft to order them to work together on a Fallout project, but I imagine there's plenty of bad blood between the suits and/or devs at either one. Especially since Fallout was more so Obsidian's baby when they were Black Isle Studios. And the one instance they were allowed to spend time with their child again, it was for a day at best in comparison, but their options of spending time incredibly limited and gutted. Not to mention, it was surveyed the entire time, clearly intended to fail and never happen again. (Funny enough, that one moment with said kid is perhaps the only moment that has actually stood out since the "Divorce" as it were. Not that Fallout 3 was bad, {I'd honestly put it above 4 in general and 76's launch}, but still.)
(Side-note: I can't help but kinda enjoy how watching one of your vids, Frost, leaves my typing for a moment like above. I mean I am the kind of person that might start talking with a British Accent if I watch 1-2 episodes of Doctor Who, but still. XD
glad to see stuff of legends back, it was my favorite new show in the old place, excited for new episodes!
Yes yes yes yes, this is exactly the series I was hoping would pop up on the channel.
The ice cube gremlins are by far my favorite thing you guys have going right now. You love to see it, beauty!
So glad to see this series has made a triumphant return, I love it.
Glad to see this show return as well. The new mascots are adorable and always happen to hear frost's narration.
As for possible topics. With it's recent revival I'd love to see a coverage of the original end of City of Heroes, and the torchlight vigil that happened as the servers closed down. It was an awesome moment of solidarity from the community and would love to hear it recounted by Frost. it's a fond personal memory I had at least.
When I ask aloud "How stupid and petty people can be?!" it's not supposed to be taken as a challenge!
Look, all I'm saying, Nick, is I bought imp merchandise in the early days of ZP and would 100% buy a drinking glass and plushie of the ice cube dudes.
I gotta be honest, this format was one of my favorites on the old channel. So incredibly happy that it survived the transition!
I love to imagine that every major power just have one agent now dedicated to watching warthunder forums to both protect state secrets and get a glimpse of other documents.
Here's a couple of game stories about presidents in video games.
- Burnout Paradise (original not the remaster) for a while had the ingame billboards advertise the presidential race at the time. These billboards usually advertise DLC and content updates and were repurposed for it. No idea if the devs were paid to do or if they favoured a particular candidate or just wanted to encourage engagement in voting as I'm British so wasn't exposed to these billboards.
- Mercenaries 2 had a DLC that bizarrely had character skins for Sarah Palin and Barrack Obama. It was just weird driving tanks around and blowing up stuff as literal presidential candidates.
- The Ship is a multiplayer game based around assassinating other player passengers while evading security and the player tasked with killing you. One of the notable modes was World Leader mode which functioned the same as usual except every player model was a caricature of a real past and current world leader or political figure at the time. Aside from the hilarity of the kill feed, this mode did have a major gameplay change: you couldn't change clothes to hide your identity make evading your assassin harder but made finding your target easier. When remake got made, it updated this mode to include more people like Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.
Sorry when I saw the first line, I thought you meant the Call of Duty's President stuff but wow some people love political stuff.
@@sharkkebunni It's just some random stuff that fit a theme that came to me when Frost asked for stories.
And a little bit wanting to raise The Ship's profile because it's a unique premise. It was like a precursor to Assassin's Creed's multiplayer.

It’s weird. In the UK treason is still punishable by death however the death penalty is banned here so more likely life imprisonment at worst
I appreciate the clip from Dr. Strangelove "Gentlemen You can't fight in here, this is the war room!"
Ohh my god I was waiting for this
Loved the posters of Marty and "The Things of Fables" in the background. 😂 Glad to see this series come back!
If yall would like a topic to do one of this videos about. I suggest taking a look into the rumors of insider trading and devs manipulating events on EVE Online. I read one interview that suggested one of the largest and most well-known heists of eve online history was orchestrated by one of the devs at CCP
So glad to have my 3 favorite shows for the site that shall not be named up here. Your voice reminds me of the narrator from Bastion, which Yahtzee described as Disturbingly sexy and some one who replaced his lungs with 2 chocolate Profiteroles
Purple Donkey award is very prestigious I hear. Good job guys! Also Great Video as always Frost.
Glorious new series!
"If he ever existed I doubt he exists now..." I chuckled and then shuddered at myself cos that's almost certain.
The chosen clips for illustrating your points are... well... on point.
Loved this. The Animaniacs bit in the background was a nice touch.
Okay so as a former intelligence analyst, let me just say U//FOUO counts, because War Thunder is not an Official Use.
Y'know, 'cause I expect this will come up.
Also the turret gap is a big deal, it's why Russian tanks keep getting owned by Mavic drones with a grenade strapped to them.
So glad this series is coming back, albeit under a different name. I was kind of worried they'd forgotten about it or decided not to do it, but it was easily something I looked forward to back on the other channel, and one of the few shows I watched there.
Awesome subject, can't wait
Oh man I’m loving this I didn’t know how crazy it got.
I've got to be honest, modern and historical warfare enthusiasts are amongst the most aggressively pedantic and obsessive gamers I've ever interacted with.
It's one of the biggest reasons I fell out of love with the historical Total War games. You'd try to get involved with the fan community and most of what you'd find is 100 page threads complaining that CA's laziness ruined the game because the tiny French grenadiers had the wrong color socks or the wrong number of buttons on ther coats.
yup, joining the patreon cuz the poem bit was funny, hellos from colombia.
A video on the Vanu Sovereignty getting the first ever continent lockdown in Planetside 1 would be cool as well, though it's hard finding info on it these days with all the Planetside 2 forum complaints you run into first. It's one of those things that got passed around in the early days of Planetside 2 as this legendary thing that happened and a deep dive into it would be really cool to see.
Love that this show carried over! It’s maybe my favorite Frost show!
this is like the third new show to have some sort of sidekick. 2 dogs and an ice cube
What can we say, we know people like some plushies! lol
Everyone likes a good list. Thanks Second Wind!
There is no force on earth stronger than a nerd attempting to win a pissing match on the internet.
If it existed back in WWII the Allies probably could've cracked the Enigma code in a weekend. Though in that case the information was held by scientists, so probably all they needed to do was drop them a discreet email and they'd happily spill all the details for free, they're just happy someone is taking an interest in their work.
