I always enjoy your reviews. I have a couple of these covers, and I love them. If you put the Moterm out in the sun, the strong odor will dissipate. I don’t use the pen loop, I just let it lay flat under the back cover. The B6 cover is extremely hard to find, but if anyone is interested, AliExpress does sell them, you just have to search to find them.

I wish the A6 was 4mm or 3.7mm. I love the smaller grid because I write very small.

I just bought an A6 Stalogy for the very first time, to use at some point. I’m in a B6 Stalogy now. But I sure love that Moterm cover - - it’s gorgeous!

I got the red Moterm cover and am using an April start Techo in it. I love it like you do! Already stalking Ali Express for the other colors.

I’ve been using my A6 Stalogy(s) for a year and a half. Sometimes I create my monthly spread on two pages horizontally, sometimes one page vertically. I also use B6 and my A5 as a teacher planner. I love the paper and grid. I don’t use the months and dates at the top. The print is so faint I can just ignore it. It can also be covered with washi. Here’s a pen loop tip...I know you like to decorate the front cover, but if you insert both front and back covers into the pockets, the Stalogy will sit centered and pull the edge of the pages away from the pen loop for a nice fit. You could then decorate your inside page.

Loving the A5 stalogy for my "bujo." For some reason I absolutely hate 5mm (at least compared to 4mm) which may be because my handwriting is small and I like cramming a ton into a weekly page since I never use dailies. I recommend it 100% if you want to be able to write more words per page.

It’s not TRP, try uni jet stream pen or pilot acroball works well also. I really use all kinds if it bleeds through I just put a sticker on the other side lol. Helps me to get rid of them. The light grey frixion pen works really nice for making calendars. I’ve been in the stalogy A6 for over 3 years now,, but I’ve been moving into a standard size. I miss the stalogy so much. I had to take an A5 and have it cut. I think they do spoil you. I love the paper, the way they lay flat and the way they sound and feel after you write in them. Enjoy using it. Nice video.

I totally agree with the top margin date options. I wish they would have put in another row or 2 of grid instead. I just ignore them and write over and when drawing out my monthly I treat it like there’s more grid. Now I want A6! I've been in B6 since January, but for the summer I split out my garden bujo because things were getting too jumbled. But my planning uses way less room now. I might try A6 next year...
For the ribbon, I tied a pretty one onto a paper clip thatI slip onto the back cover. I don’t always use it,but it looks pretty hanging out of the bottom of the book.

Funny you brought up the date thingie at the top. I purchased one and it kind of bothered me so I returned it. Hope it works for you though. And I always forget about the pockets in the backs of notebooks too, lol. Love the cover. Will have to check it out further.

I’ve been using an A5 Stalogy for ages. I loved it, so I got an A6 for my daily. The 8-21 hours marking does bother me, but one of the benefits of Stalogy’s super faint grid and markings is that I can remake it however I like without a problem.
Right now, I’m drawing a central line and listing 1-12, (2 squares per hour) then splitting a.m. to the left and p.m to the right. I might start just listing 1-24, and having 1 square per hour, though.
I agree that the top date marking spots are way too faint. Page numbers and an index would be more useful.
Edit: using a paper MD cover for my Stalogy A6

Today I received my Moterm A5 Croc-Red Brown.. It is so nice! I am impressed. I wondered about the insert, I figured if it was a MD they would have said in the blurb. I also cannot fathom how I have never heard of this brand before.
I enjoyed your video, A6 is a bit too small for me, but after watching a number of B6 unboxings of Moterm's and surfing online I think I may need to join the planner bandwagon and have more than one on the go. :D Still tossing up between a stalogy and MD in B6. Thank You for the time you spend to share with us.

Great review, I just ordered my first Motrem for my b6. As far as the pen loop, I usually just hook the pen clip thru the loop rather than the pen itself. Or use ones that I’ve made myself and do the same thing with using the pen clip, it allows me to have more than one pen.

I’m the same way... or I was every so many months I would want to bullet journal. But I spent the last year in an A6 Stalogy and LOVED IT! I’m experimenting for the rest of 2020 but I already have my 2021 Stalogy here. :) I love that little book.

I *LOVE* my stalogy and Moterm combo take it everywhere it is my EDC I have the A6, B6, and A5 I couldn't resist buying one of each best planner purchases ever. I have abanded everything else. One for notes, another for planning, and another diary. The Moterm quality is top-notch and at that price point, it is way too good to pass up. Stalogy is a great brand and I love the different colors. 10 out of 10 would definitely recommend it.

I’m in a B6 stalogy this month. I just write over the header since it’s so light and small. It doesn’t bother me, especially if I highlight over it with a tombow marker, you can’t even see it.

AliX and Etsy have tons of covers for a6 stalogies, leather, cloth and more. Simple as that. Most, if not all, come with ribbons and pockets etc
I’m using an A6 for 2021 and got a really nice cover to go with it.

  • @clarkbilgrav
    @clarkbilgrav Pƙed 4 lety +2

I have an A6 I use for a journal. I just ignore the months, etc. at the top of the page since they are so faint. The only problem is the grid is very faint too. If the lighting isn’t that good when I’m writing I can’t really see the grid and things get crooked. đŸ€Ș

They run out of stock quickly so you have to check back periodically, I was checking every day before I was able to find the colors I wanted to buy and when I went back bam the colors were already gone. The covers are gorgeous and the quality is great so they sell out fast!

The A5 is 4mm to allow for 24 hrs down the left hand side.
They sell a half year version of the A6, B6 and A5. So you could get the half year and you wouldn’t have so many pages.
If you want pockets the clear covers from Lauren Phelps Design are very nice and have pockets in them and fit like a dream and come in A6, B6 and A5. There’s also assorted Midori covers in A6 as another option. And of course MD A6 grid notebooks as an alternative to the stalogy if you prefer their paper.
I don’t like the ribbons so never bothers me if they don’t have bc I cut them out 😝 but glad you like the ribbons on the moterm.
All their TNs have elastic closure that I’ve seen.
