AI art generation has allowed me to just enjoy drawing, instead of stressing out about imagining ideas while also learning techniques. It's purely cathartic and I'm loving it.

      Same here. I do wish the folks who create these tutorials would define the terms. I can assume that a prompt is a description of the image you want to create, but some of the other terms I have no idea about.

  • @seussusamongoose2905
    @seussusamongoose2905 Před 2 lety +130

    Valuable tip: if you know Chinese/Japanese, putting an English term and its Hanzi/Kanji equivalent into your prompts can potentially double the amount of reference data the AI has to go off. I got way more accurate results doing this for just about everything. Use a translator if you don’t know Chinese characters and want to try, it’s definitely worth it.
    E.g. Manga 漫画, two people 二人, fireflies 蛍, girl spinning 回っている女の子, etc.
    This is already a well-known practice in the Japanese Midjourney community, but I haven’t seen any Western content creators discuss it yet. Please mention it if you do more videos on Midjourney 🙏 Good video.

      Thank you so much!! Is it limited to only Japanese language?

    • @seussusamongoose2905
      @seussusamongoose2905 Před rokem +19

      @@activemotionpictures Any language will work, but Japanese and Chinese specifically give you unique advantages with the AI (plus there is also a lot of high-quality digital art posted in these languages). For example, compound words allow you to give the AI an adjective and noun as one unit of information:
      In English, when you write "red eyes", MidJourney separates red and eyes into two seperate prompts of equal value, which is why you will sometimes not get red eyes in the picture it generates.
      In Japanese, you can write red eyes as one word, 赤目, or as an adjective+noun with no space in between, 赤い目. Midjourney treats 赤目 as a single prompt for its cross-referencing, which means you'll nearly always get red eyes in your picture.
      If you use this technique to combine two prompt words for accuracy like "赤い目", it's best not to also write "red eyes" in your prompt, because the English is technically asking for ”red" and "eyes" separately. This can lead to other details being red and eyes appearing in strange places rather than a higher likelihood that the AI will generate a red pair of eyes.
      But if you are using a list of single word prompts, it is totally fine to include both the English and Japanese versions of these prompts to double the amount of reference data for the AI like I described in my previous comment.
      Best of luck with your projects.

    I am an artist and I feel like corporations are going to use this to their advantage which means they probably never cared about you in the first place. I am not falling into the addiction here. I feel like it's way more rewarding creating your own image, it takes skill which you have to learn the hard way. I also know a lot of other artists are not happy with it because people are going to lie and said they created it when really they just used AI to do it for them. I also want to know where it's getting all these images and combining them. All I know is that you need a sub for stock photos (if you do photo manipulation) even then you have to make the image appear different with honest work. (Envato Elements rules etc) or you need to find images that are legit for commercial use so you can manipulate them etc. Sooo yeah I see this actually being a problem but that's just my opinion. Unless all these artists agreed to this, which I highly doubt that. I think that would be the rule of thumb there. This might cause authentic artists to fight back especially the ones whose art is stolen to go into some AI system to be transformed into something else without permission... Not something I want to be apart of.

    • @Dr.Twat.Waffle
      @Dr.Twat.Waffle Před rokem

      i think maybe you should try learning a little more about it. That's not how this one works, first of all, and there are a lot of artists who do like it. "real artists" as you speak of. this argument is so tired. have you even watched the video, or do you just go around leaving comments on videos about it?

    • @metalbunnE
      @metalbunnE Před rokem

      @@Dr.Twat.Waffle I am with Benny Productions thoughts on the whole thing. Yes I have watched it. I want to know where these photos are coming from that are being manipulated. Did these artists agree to this? Because apparently you can even type in deviant art, or an artist and will even do their particular style. Well guess what that particular style is unique because it was created authentically by someone that I am sure didn't agree to be put in some AI gen. I am so tired of AI taking over. It's like they don't even need us humans anymore and I find this as a personal threat honestly but that's just my opinion. I would rather take the time to learn and grow and acquire a skill. Not have AI create ideas, or the art for me. Defeats the purpose.

    Yeah, it's only art critics or the people who think they are artists that have a problem with AI or any type of technology being involved in the process of art.
    Even Vermeer used the latest in technology in his time with the camera obscura to paint images.
    The process doesn't matter to a real artist. And it never has.
    It's about our results and the new ways we can use them. The process is just a means to an end to get there.

    amazing results, emphasizing the fact that quantity always beats quality. Taking out the need to have or learn ANY skills at all, means EVERYBODY can create stunning pictures without having to spend any time on learning, rendering the result worthless from a viewpoint of specialty and congeniality. It's like telling a computer to play Mozart, except to expect the computer to write a Mozart'esque piece first all by itself. Why learning the violin or the piano when having computer composing AND playing the opera all by itself. Now, you have 8 billion Nigel Kennedy's on this planet - enjoy the crowd. How cruel a parent to still send his/her kid to piano, drawing or singing lessons from now on.
