Judging by the fact that I've seen 3 comments now that don't understand this, he did not set it to safe. There's a small pointer on the selector. That indicates what it's set to. The large portion he pushed on with his thumb is meant for exactly that, being used to manipulate the selector. It is first set to semi, then he flips the selector, and sets it to burst. (It says auto, but it's clearly not)

I get most people aren’t familiar with firearms or air-soft but a quick google search of “ Wolverine inferno” will tell you this is an airsoft product.
I wonder if electronic trigger groups would see more development if it weren't for the NFA. You could control the rate of fire by a timer that controls the release of the hammer when the trigger is held down.
No doubt they would be popular if not for that. Its sad that such a simple and elegant solution is denied by archaic gun laws written by ignorant politicians and would-be tyrants.
On a selector switch, the mode selected isn't where the large part is,, its where the point is on the opposite side. So when he flipped the selector switch the point was dlipped it to "auto"
@@spontaksback no problem, it's a pretty easy thing to confuse if you haven't personally handled too many guns. It was designed like that to make it easier and faster to switch from safe to semi by just moving your thumb forward, but to return to safe you have to go out of your way to move your entire hand forward so that your thumb can reach. It's a little difficult to just say that without you holding a rifle and seeing, but you can see videos or imagine it's harder to pull it back than push it forward lol

You have no idea how an AR works do you? He initially had it on SEMI (single round) then switched to AUTO (multi round). The larger part that covers the "safe" is just the thumb switch, the actual fire mode it's in is opposite that. Safe would have the larger part (thumb switch) covering "auto"
