When Topanga unexpectedly shows up at Shawn's door, you can't really tell by his demeanor that he doesn't want to be her friend anymore. Shawn's childhood was full of conflict and and compartmentalization, so if he doesn't want someone to know how he really feels, they're not gonna know.
True. Kind of like when he was still in love with Angela and was hiding it really well until Topanga did some Sherlocking.
I think in this case it had more to do with the fact that he in fact Does want to be her friend but because she hurt Cory he can't be friends with her anymore. Shawn doesn't want to just toss away the friendship but Cory is his best friend and the one he is going to stand by. So he's caught between Not wanting to hurt Topenga because he cares about her and wanting to hurt Topenga because he cares about Cory more.

Personally, it's not my thing, but there's nothing wrong with it. Would you rather a relationship where they're so emotionally invested that when one messes up it turns into something else entirely. It's why I think there's nothing wrong with people who have casual sex because at least then they can get it out of their system and once they actually get into a relationship they'll have already experienced that curiosity to sleep around without strings attached and they'll most likely won't be tempted to cheat or something. That's a big problem I think is people rush into relationships without testing the waters and experiencing different partners. It doesn't even have to be sexual, but if you don't know how something is you'll always be more likely to wonder about it. At least if you've experienced it you can continue off with what actually works and what you actually want.

Really depends on the nature of the friendship. Some friendships grow beyond the relationship and those people would stay friends even if they weren't still with their significant other. Whereas other people were only friends with that person while they were dating their friend.

Heck Cory flat out tells her they’re not friends, and it even hurts her feelings, because she thought because they’re classmates and they do a lot of their projects together, she assumed they have become friends, and Cory straight up tells her they’re not friends though.
Then Cory feels bad, and tries to become friends with her, even goes on to try “make her cool.”
This is the very episode that kind of starts the whole Cory and Topanga are sweet together thing.

It's common knowledge that kids go through chickenpox with much, much, MUCH less sever complications than teens or adults, so there is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting your kid to catch chickenpox early on.

However they would've had a harder time to deal with it now due to the knowledge of Shingles. Fortunately, we have vaccinations for Chickenpox, but it's still a bit too late for some people now thanks to their parents' actions.
If parents had just been patient enough to wait for a vaccine instead of getting their kids sick for their own convenience, those kids wouldn't have to worry about shingles now. TBF though, the connection between the viruses hadn't been discovered until the early 2000s, so it's still kinda recent.

I really lucked out with Chicken Pox, I got it as an infant. They didn’t have to tell me not to scratch because I didn’t even know how to scratch at the time and I don’t remember anything from since I was able to string more then a few words together and walk across rooms so Chicken Pox isn’t even a bad memory for me.

Chicken pox are such a pain to deal with, I remember having them at 8 years old.
So babsically Shawn was never a real friend to Topanga. Corey literally cheated on her and she has every right to break up with him, then he decided he didn't want to support her or be friends with her, and was a dick to her even though she was sweet to him and his brother and took care of them when they were sick. Jack was right. Shawn was never her friend.
Cory and Shawn are like brothers. Some families they have each others' backs, even when they screw up or are at fault. If someone hurts their family, even if it's a close friend, they always take the family's side.
Getting kissed against your will isn't "Cheating" just because he didn't physically assault her when she leaned in doesn't make him a "Cheater".
