Pull it off.. if it has batteries it’ll be on the back of the faceplate. Most likely it’ll be wired and you need to replace either the face plate or something is going on with your system. I had to pay hvac folks to tell me it was the faceplate

These thermostats are absolute junk.....Get a different one and your problem is solved.
