Since the first day of release
I think her issue as an assassin is she has no way out and relies too much on Duskblade, her kit is much more similar to a diver (Yone / Xin Zhao / Diana). Unlike a Talon, Zed or Qiyana who can go in and out
Her Kit makes no sense. How do you have such a nice concept as a pack of wolfs and all you do is Evelin Q a point and click dash and another mini dash… this and Nilah are some of the worse designed champs yet

It’s almost like you should have to choose whether you go all in or play conservatively to keep your escape options open. Assassins shouldnt be able to get out easily if they make a mistake
She's 100% just fine. She's just supposed to be an easy mode assassin, the trade off is she has no escape, that's how it's supposed to be. You can't have an easy champion that is also able to have god-level mobility because that would be unfair. Plus I 100% guarantee that if she did have those escape tools you guys would be typing out here that she's "overloaded", you just like to complain.
also against ranged champs that you can't beat early (battle/control mages), I'd suggest trying phase rush. It feels really good, and the rest of the sorc tree is underrated for cdr and roam potential
Against ranged, I've found that taking Q level 1 and then W level 2 provides instant kill potential if you hit a double Q or two on them level 1.
No one expects the level 2 W all-in with ignite.
Is it me or Pekin felt happier? Like, he's always a bit more serious on this channel, but in this video he felt like how he acts on 2nd channel/streams. That's good

you engage with W so you're within stridebreaker range , dude is already slowed (I'm talking about build order I do agree serylda is great)
I think black cleaver 2nd item after stride has more value making you tankier and the armor shred works for the whole team, its not like someone is going to escape you with stridebreaker and the targeted dash

Had insane success with bruiser doggy in arena, feels so much better than lethality and its way more forgiving. Spear of shojin makes it so even missing q isnt the end of you

Problem with Naafiri. Youre useless if you get behind but the shield she has is unbelievable OP if she is even just a little ahead.
I think a decent balance would be
Q: buff the bleed damage, add a Lethality ratio to her heal, increase the lock out timer on 2nd cast by quarter of a second
W: slightly decrease the range of 2nd and 3rd rank, slightly nerf the bonus ad ratio, remove the slow
E: lower the cd to 9 sec at all ranks, lower the mana cost by 10, and add a 20% decaying slow on second hit with lethality ratio for 1 sec, and decrease the bonus ad ratio by .2 on the first hit
R: decrease flat ad bonus by 5 at all ranks, increase duration by 2 seconds, and add a lethality ratio to the shield
It centers her playstyle around landing Q, rewards her with more durability if she's able to succesfully land Q while doing nothing for her if she builds bruiser. Landing 2 Qs is mainly for healing and allows her poke to stick in lane if she's only able to hit 1 Q and affords you some levity for using it to farm since you're not as encouraged to hit both Qs unless it's to heal.
The slight slow on W doesn't make sense, and isn't interactive even if it was good. Nerfing the range to compensate for increase in duration of ult.
Puts the slow on E to make it imperative to hit to land Q, but also lowering the cost and cd to make it useful at recalling dogs and maneuvering since her W puts her into a very vulnerable position and can be body blocked. I also think that nerfing the first hit is important since it instantly follows up out of a point and click ability leaving no room for counterplay. Ult duration is really low for how little impact it has if you can't get into range, and especially so if you cannot even get the reset. I also think R should be used for vision and movespeed rather than just a damage steroid so maybe lowering the cd by half and removing the ad bonus entirely would be better.
She's weak in that she's very binary and obvious, but strong in the way she can just brute force kill you if you're out of options. Sort of like Annie or Garen. I think her gameplay would be more nuanced if she was more of a scrapper than a pure 100 - 0 assassin, and I think it behooves them to emulate that fantasy since she's literally a dog. Dogs don't instantly kill you when they bite you, they wear you down bit by bit. Thanks for listening to my rambles. 🤓
nerfiw w range is so bad . stop it. IF she had movements speed on her R all the time not few seconds then w can have small range. But i had too many situations taht someone jsut dashed when they saw me ult and i coudlnt even get to them with w

I'm not surprised. Did we all forget that Blue Kayn, Talon, zed, and practically every other assassin use to do tankier builds with stuff like Goredrinker? While those aren't as popular now, it was still something that worked and to this day still does. And now here's Naafiri, another assassin who does well with a tankier build.
Its mostly thanks to their kits having decent enough damage where you don't need to go pure glass.
The problem is that naafiri can't escape after she engaged. Every other assassin can escape a sticky situation if you plan ahead and play well, naafiri can't.
those guys are designed to have a get out tool while naafiri's kit resembles more of a diver such as pantheon where if she goes in she needs to be able to survive the intial burst of the enemy (bc no cc) while doing her burst

Idk dude a 54% WR on a champ that no one has a lot of experience with built up yet is pretty high. Syndra was gutted with her E damage and CD, W true dmg reduced, if I remember I think even her passive had a nerf to it like she got wrecked for daring to have a 51% WR but a high pick/ban rate.
I just went 23/2/12 using this build against a Yasuo and worked perfectly, just that I used death dance instead of black cleaver because xayah top, lee jg and samira bot
I have literally been thinking for so long that this champ would be good with bruiser items, reminds of when Id play full bruiser talon back in s12

You mentioned they nerfed all parts of her kit, but didnt mention that she also got another -10% dmg to minions because of "her lvl 9 waveclear spike" which is just surreal.

I dont totally agree that naaf isn’t a one shot unless you’re really fed. At least on squishy AD Carries. I played a liss and was way behind and just one shot their adc and sup all game still. As long as the team isn’t mega tanky or have tons of cc Naaf is very strong with electrocute at least.
If you W, Q, AA, E, Q2, most champs will be within ignite range if they don’t have lots of armor. At least in my experience.
I do notice you play quite a bit more passive than I an with her though. Which is not a bad thing as assassins are supposed to wait for a pick, but I run duskblade and electrocute which allows me to get a pick and then E out while I’m untargetable making it easier to go for plays that would be very risky without the duskblade passive.
I really would like to try running a more bruiser build like this though!
Also I’m low elo, and I think naafiri is a low elo stomper. I have a 76% WR with her in ranked, but I’m likely not playing the competition you are so I don’t get punished for going Aggro
UPDATE: dropped two games today in ranked. 30 kills and 32 (112k damage). With electrocute keystone. I tried Conq and played okay (9-5), it didn’t personally feel as good with conq. Stride feels good and the extra bruiser does help against tanky matchups, but I prefer electrocute and dusk for the one shot opportunities. It feels nicer in MY opinion. The time to kill on squishys+ duskblade passive allow you to get in and out with ease.
I do want to play some more with the conqueror to see how it feels after a few games! Thanks for the video :)
Yeah same. I think Bruiser is probably better overall for consistent wins and team fights but to say she doesn't assassinate is questionable. Her e dash plus Q2 alone with one item is insane burst. Similar to Talon's burst but slower.
@@antonypistachio5476 yes she plays very similar to talon with her quick burst damage and quick engage. I’m a big talon fan and she’s an easier to pick up talon imo.
I do notice that with electrocute I’m still able to fight tanks late game if I do quick trades and use my move speed to disengage. Kind of like how qiyana wants to do short burst trades. That helps me sustain against tankier matchups a lot

her winrate being so low it's because of skill, everybody trying to play her without even knowing that landing the double Q does a ton of damage
I called it as soon as I read her kit when she got released in PBE she's gonna played more as a bruiser instead of an assassin.

I think Assassin Naafiri to consistently win you have to play perfectly. Going for a bruiser build is much more easier to play.
i feel like the biggest problem with her is that most of her dmg is centered around hitting both Q's, which sucks since it completely leaves out the whole "wolf pack" thing out.
Would TriForce be good on her? She gets A Lot of things to proc the Spellblade with and doesn't hate all the stats she gets from both the item and mythic passive.
Her base attack speed and attack speed scaling is quite low, but her Q could in theory be used as a sorry of Camille Q, in essence.
I wonder, do you think, if she can build like a bruiser, can she go top ? You seem to be doing fine vs that renek and that singed. I'm asking because i love assassins but i'm a toplaner and not many assassins can actually go toe to toe with bruisers (i go akali sometimes but it's not the easiest and i'd like a change hehe)
Conqueror is cool cause you can stack it really quickly and safe with the dogs, the only thing they do good cause there is no way to actually play around your pack,

Yeah I agree…. Riot should at least wait a little until their winrate normalizes before they take action like this. They’ve had to hot fix almost every single new release with a big nerf or buff after they have a super high/low WR on release,and then the champ is either way too weak afterwards, or WAY overtuned after the buffs. Like, they just need to be patient.
That’s not the case at high ranks. Those players have enough experience on league that they’ll generally know how to play with or against it.

It's literally the complete opposite, every champion has a very low winrate on release and it goes up, a champion having a high winrate on release is a clear indication that they're too powerful.

I'm so fucking sad that they nerfed her. She REALLY didn't need it. There are champs that so what she does but six times faster while being difficult to kill and have mobility to escape after doing it that haven't been touched in months, like Riven (who also has CC) and even Kayn with a super short Q cd and the ability to walk through walls. She... REALLY didn't need to be nerfed...

Rito nerfing Naafiri instantly after release while they don't make any changes to K'sante. I say she's a necessity at this point considering how busted newer champions' kits are (Viego able to 1v5 just with a reset, Gwen's W, Zeri with Talon and Lux combined etc. , not to mention that freaking abomination K'sante). Naafiri is a necessity at this point.

For consistency, I feel like you really need one of your two first items to be a slow item, either Stride first or Serylda second.
With GD+BC first, Serylda on third is too late. And it's not just to "not miss" Qs, it's mostly to catch people, land more autos etc, which is more important early than late (it's a snowbally game after all)

This build seems so much more....I dunno..."Plausible?" Like this is the legit build, not the mega-hype super assassin clickbait BS. And I actually found this way more enjoyable to watch, too. Just a good solid champ with an interesting toolkit vs. a coin flip.

I think the nerfs she was hit by is because she got 54% on release with many people never trying her on the PBE. Other high win rate champions have fluctuated with buffs and nerfs but people have had a lot more time to learn the nuances of those champs' kits, whereas if naafiri has a 54% win rate days after release with players who aren't as familiar, then she's probably overtuned. She'll probably get a bit of power put back in her when she settles and people have had time to learn what she does

champ got the dumbest nerfs. Im gonna be real, they killed the champ. Shes an honest champ. If u didnt kill her with your combo, u die. But every champ in the game has hard cc now, which completely shuts her down. Her kit doesnt allow for like.. any out play. Theres some, but not alot at all. She dies so damn easy without putting up enough damage. Lillia does a shit ton and is a glass cannon. This champ is the exact same, they need to fix it.

i dont understand why riot releases new champs just to immediately hotfix them. we dont have a big enough sample size of games yet and people are still learning what she does and how to play against her so they should really wait at least a week before making any decisions

My tinfoil hat theory - Riot releases champion and there are 2 paths:
a) Rioter gets his ass destroyed in game by new champ - hotfix nerf or overnerf
b) Rioter plays new champ and sucks at it - hotfix buff or overbuff
Because honestly I cannot think of anything else, do they even listen to feedback from goddamn PTE at this point?

They should really make her invulnerable while casting w because idk how many time ive been stopped mid cast .. its really annoying .. or just decrease the cooldown or reset cooldown upon kills..
54% winrate on their release patch is gigabroken. As a rule of thumb if a champ is above 50% on release they are pretty broken and going to be nerfed. You have to think nobody has any experience on them and everyone is going to be trying whacky builds before people figure out what works

I've been finding more success with Stridebreaker, BC, Boots, Serylda's, and the last two slots are for situational items.
Goredrinker is also a pretty good Mythic.

Honestly I think part of the problem with Naafiri is that she has summons but has no cc and is expected to go mid lane. It's really easy for mages to just clear all the dogs and they aren't as good as Malz minions at pushing waves and you can't force them onto people with CC like both Malz and even Yorick. Thematically she's amazing, but honestly I was expecting a lot more from the gameplay side even if she is supposed to be "easy to play".

I notice when your teamates make crazy plays you hardly ever, if ever, spam ping them or thank them in any way outside of verbally for the video.

I can think of one reason for it being beneficial is potentially so they din’t get a big ego about it, or potentially take it the wrong way, but I feel that point is debunked in many situations as NOT being spam pinged or thanked in that situation may raise those same feelings.
I feel like not spam pinging/thanking the blitz for that early play mid is fairly hollow and really doesn’t spread the appreciation as best it could have.
I feel like the audience is given more of that appreciation than the actual player is and that doesn’t really seem fair for the effort.
A small quirk and neutral overall but an area that could potentially be improved.

My experience with her has been: Try to kill someone, get stunlocked for 5 secs, die.
