INGREDIENTS
The biggest difference is the protein. Optimum Nutrition has a blend of 3 kinds of protein: isolate, concentrate, and hydrolyzed in that order. Dymatize is mostly hydrolyzed whey with some isolate thrown in.
Research suggests that hydrolyzed whey absorbs more quickly than other forms, and it may be more helpful for recovery for athletes working out several times per day. For the average person, there's likely no practical difference.
The other main difference is that Optimum Nutrition contains digestive enzymes and Dymatize doesn't. Enzymes may improve protein absorption, so this could give an edge to Gold Standard.
Finally, both products have third party certifications to make sure there are no banned substances, however, the standards are different: Gold Standard is certified by Informed Sport, which does swab testing in the facility to minimize contamination of banned substances, whereas Dymatize is certified by Informed Choice, which actually tests the protein powder itself every month.
Between the hydrolyzed whey and the more rigorous testing, Dymatize may be better suited to competitive athletes.
PRICE
Optimum Nutrition is about 4.3 cents per gram of protein.
Dymatize is about 5 cents per gram of protein.
This makes sense, given that hydrolyzed whey is more expensive to produce.
SEE OUR PICKS FOR BEST WHEY PROTEIN: • Best Whey Protein Powd...
WHICH IS BEST?
Optimum Nutrition has digestive enzymes, more flavors to choose from, and it's cheaper.
Dymatize tastes better with water, may absorb more quickly, and has more rigorous testing for banned substances.

I need to hire this guy to prepare my protein shakes. He´s a natural talent. No need for a blender.
Honestly they’re both great just buy both or switch between both occasionally
Nice one , Subscribed. Please keep'em coming....
Stumbled upon this phenomenal video(CZcams recommendations did me good for once 😂) it was very informative for a teen who’s just tryna use protein to tone up and lose weight without losing muscle mass, I absolutely loved it because the other videos were biased and not very informative but this one was easy on the eyes and seemed pretty legit so I’m officially a new sub thx guys for ur info srsly hella helpful ✌️
Thank you for this this is the debate i was having in my head
Sounds like you can't go wrong with either. dymatize iso100 fruity pebbles flavor is very good though.. thanks for the video
ISO 100 is the best protein if you’re a millionaire
Haha it's just 25 more cents per serving! - Nick

Thanks for the lovely video mate. Gonna buy dymatize
I love these videos!! Super informative, thank you!!
That's so nice of you to let us know, Brianna! - Nick
this video was super helpful. I'm glad I found this, thx.
Not so sure which one is better than the other, but they are both definitely the top two choices 👍
I used Silk unsweetened Coconut milk with the ON double and it was really good!
You shouldn’t drink that BS
great video! just found these videos of yours. I've watched quite a few of your boot videos as well. Boots and lifting, man after my own heart! Thanks for the info and keep up the great content!
I might be starting my own online supplement store soon and I find this video very helpful when it comes to information on both proteins.
Did you do it?
where is it at?
Precised review, amazing
I couldn’t decide so I buy both. Glad for this comparison.
I have used both products. I drink protein shakes to stop muscle loss and also to be able to get my 80 grams of daily protein after weight loss surgery.
Just picked up the Dymatize Fruity pebbles & cocoa pebbles. Both are delicious
On my second tub of the dymatize, you can’t beat the flavor
My favorite blend:
half a glass of water
half a glass of low-fat milk
one scoop of ON Gold standard Mocha Cappuccino
a pinch of creatine
I have tried both...I was more lean and defined with Dymatize
I use both
I use both too but that by I got the fruit pebbles one and it’s soooooo good. (Because I like fp) so I use both to save money. But I prefer dynasties bc of the ingredients
i like the dymatize ones too, and it is easier too mix
I found the same results more lean and defined with dymatize.
the other one is concentrate whey
Great info guys! 🙌
Great video! Well said!
Everytime i see people review protein powder the way they hold the containers , the container seems empty
Its a small pack may be because of that🤣🤣
Its because they are super strong

ISO 100 Dymatize - it is a bit more expensive but well worth the investment. I purchased four 6lb bags from Sam's Club on sale for 60 bucks a bag. I have one at the office and three at home. Since I started taking ISO100 Dymatize - my recovery has vastly improved. Prior to taking ISO100, I would ache for days after a strenuous workout. Since taking this supplement, I have yet to experience those aches again. Just an amazing product. Also, for those people that are lactose intolerant, this product is deal for you too.
Bro wat is the cheapest whey protein in USA
@@BlackMamba-lt8oe body fortress.
@VeteranX someone asked what is the cheapest protein in USA and I responded with body fortress. They didn't ask for quality, they asked for cheap.
Hello buddy. I have a question. I also bought the ISO100 recently but as it does not Have Carbohydrates, do you blend the protein with a banana or oats after your workout? Or simply take it alone? THANK you so much for your answer
2years later... Does Sam's carry fruity pebbles? 👀👋🏽
I had tried many brand in the past. All of them with chocolate (sweet) gave me bloated and gas problem. I found Dymatize, vanilla flavor is the best that didn't give me gas problem. Now I'm stick with Dymatize.
I just tried Dymatize Fruity Pebbles flavor for the first time today. Holy shit it tastes delicious with just water, can’t wait to try in a smoothie.
@@cantseeshadow to me, I think it tastes the best in just a plain shake (milk, or water, and then protein powder) whenever I put it in my smoothie, it gets a little chemical taste, or when I put it in my oatmeal. But yes, it tastes wonderful in milk or water.
@@nalyd6386 I agree! Fruity pebbles doesn’t go well in smoothies or oatmeal. However, their Peanut Buttercup flavor taste good in oatmeal!
@@cantseeshadowwhat is your favorite flavor from dymatize.. or any protein powder in general? I’m very new to this stuff. I just happened to see some fruity pebbles, and I wanted to try it, I have also had equate vanilla, and it goes great in food, but i don’t think it’s the greatest quality protein powder.
@@nalyd6386 I’m not a hardcore gym rat who knows a lot about Protein Powders but I read great reviews on Dymatize and how great quality it is for your buck. Its been 11 months and I still drink it almost everyday as needed. My favorite flavor has to be fruity pebbles, but if you have a sweet tooth for chocolate, definitely check out their other chocolate flavors
GREAT video! thank you for the info. I am diabetic. Maybe you have and I do not see it, but can you do a review of Casein Protein Powder.
I love ISO 100 my favorite brand and has great taste in my opinion. Well priced I don't think it is that expensive.
Omg been looking for a video like this for 25 mins , now I know which to get tommarow this video was Thankful !
I tried a handful of different proteins, Dymatize ISO Chocolate is by far my favorite. Haven’t bought another brand since. I mix it with oat milk and peanut butter (or pbfit) and it’s amazing
Their chocolate peanut butter is amazing too!
What's the drink recipe ?
Dymatize iso 100 is delicious. Have you tried the cocoa pebble flavor? It's fantastic.
Probably because of all the sugar...
yeah that 1 mg of sugar is off the charts@@MrPAULONEAL
You should have mentioned independent company tests of these products, there is a huge difference between them on what they write on the labels and what is actually there

I found using dymatize i get better results. Here in New Zealand its $99.95 for a 3lb tub 43 servings i think thats good also the quality in it aswell.
This video is great! Thnx man
I have tried both. For ISO 100 tastes and works better.
Very well explained 👍🏼
excellent video. Thanks!
Never tried gold standard but I was originally using muscle milk and switched to iso because iso is so much easier to mix and isn't chunky and very sweet like muscle milk.
Muscle milk isn’t good

Thanks for your videos. They are so helpful! Could you compare the Vanilla versions of those two? :)
I have both rn I started with gold standard then I moved to dymatize so I’m happy this popped up!

If whey protein isolate has less carbs and fat but more protein than concentrate how is it better in gaining muscle or weight?
@@marco7838 I thought about this too. I am a very skinny guy and would factor in some extra carbs and fats.
I usually switch tube between these 2. ON for normal diet month, iso100 for cut month
I don’t know if I was taking too much , but When i took Gold standard my blood sugar increased way more than it did when I took Dymatize. So all I take is ISO100 . Gold standard Also tore my stomach up lol
Great video. Thanks
My dymatize protein is coming in today! I've used ON for years, time to try some new protein!!

Hello...Please do a review of MyProtein Impact Whey Isolate !!!!!
Great vid as always. Thanks.
Mine is Hydrolysed (Whey protein).
But please help me answer this question; What's the main difference between collagen and protein supplements? Do i have to, and can I take both supplements together? Do collagen and protein supplements provide different (health) benefits or they're the same? Can I get type one and the various types of collagen by taking only Whey (protein) supplements??
iso100 is my favorite out of every protein ive tried, the flavor is amazing and it mixes so well!
My ass it does, the mixing kinda sucks!
@@itswilly9043you must have a shitty shaker than lmao it shakes up super well for me 0 bits of protein left when i drink it
Same for me. Shakes up really well. Maybe “it’s Willy forgot to add water. Lmao.
What about its result
You probably can't shake properly, just bought it and it mixed within seconds.
Thanks for the info
I use both myself. ISO does taste a lot better. I do the ISO after my workout and the Gold for my mid day shake.
Hello buddy. I have a question. Like 2 weeks ago I bought the ISO100 and as of today, i have loved it! I only have a question. As ISO100 does not have Carbohydrates, you blend your protein with some banana or oats after your workout? Or simply, you take it alone. In my case, i am trying to lose some fat. Thank you so much for your answer.
@@man4shaki just drink ISO alone after workout
Dymatize for me.. it really helps and easy on your stomach!!
I just picked up Dymatize Fruity Pebbles & I gotta say it's the best protein I have ever tried! I'm glad I made the right choice! ✅️ 😎💪
Its bomb !! I drink it with oat milk 👌🏼
I switched to iso years back my uncle was goog at nutrition and pointed alot good facts out it's made who world of difference for my physique. It's not like the other ones which are so sweet and you actually wonder if it's good for you you the the ones what girls drink.
Excellent video, one more thing to say about ON Whey Powder, it has alot of cholesterol which is not ok for middle aged people or people in their late 30s. More reasons to choose the Dymatize ISO 100.
I tried three , ON extreme milk chocolate, double rich chocolate and iso 100 gourmet chocolate. I certainly prefer extreme milk chocolate as it has one of the best taste whey , but iso 100 gourmet chocolate is definitely better tasting than double rich chocolate
I really don't care about flavour instead I'm just looking for best for my body
What do you prefer... ON Whey Isolate or Dymatize ISO 100?
I went with OP this year , the have the natural flavors version for the gold standart.
Thumbs up. Starting to gym in a week, do I need protien at all? Or should I start from the word go?
You don’t need protein powder if you’re just starting. Just practice proper form and eat healthy. I think it is a waste if you’re just starting imho
Drink organic plant protein
any thoughts about ON isolate vs Dymatize iso 100?
Thanks Nick. I was so confused which one to buy. Your video really helped me select one. Cheers mate ✌🏻
Can't ask for a better review than that! Thanks Mohsin - Nick
And which one you choose??
@@raijamshed2315 I bought Dymatize. Have been using from past 2 years. Tastes little sweeter than other brands, but the mixing is good and recover is excellent. It’s perfect for people with sensitive stomach like me. Cheers !
Thanks a million 👍 😊
@@djjohnzee Did you buy it in India? Can you tell the source you bought it from? there are lot of duplicates going around..
I use both of these everyday. One thing that's misleading though is the ISO has more protein in it because it has a 36 gram scoop compared to a 32 gram scoop of the gold
They have the same amount of calories……… 😂
@@charlesfoster1406 something can be more or less, or the same in calories and still have more protein content. such as with chicken vs beef.
Yea I don’t know how that isn’t brought into consideration
he is not talking about per scoop.. he is talking about protein in same amount of calorie 🤦
Seems to be about the same to me. I take both of those
You compared blend with Dymatize isolate ? Why? U need compare on isolate vs Dymatize isolate
Optimum Nutrition has also Whey Powder called Hydro Whey which is super expensive but it contains even purer whey protein hydrolized form. I think it would be better to compare that
Ofc he is not comparing the right product.
I have tried all brands including the GNC brand, random stuff with high reviews on Amazon, ON and Dyamatize. I was on ON for a long time and I gained love handles and armpit fats despite doing cardio and without eating junk. I switched to Dyamatize about a year ago and I'm super leaned. Of yourself I'd still hit the gym and good diet. But Dyamatize is the best whey in the market that you can get and I'll never get any brand from now on.
i don't see why isopure is inferior
If a person with a positive nitrogen balance only works out a few days a week, I think the quality of protein will still be important...even if you think it isn't.
I burned out of Golden Standard Whey years ago. Last time I had it I was getting gag reflexes 😂 Dymatize all the way!!! There are so many kinds of protein powders and different flavors… get a product you can grow to love and enjoy and have over and over again. Gone are the days of drinking chalk protein powder and not having any variety lol Serious lifters can actually have great tasting protein and not be made fun of from people telling them to suck it up and drink their chocolate chalk lol “it’s not all about the taste bro!”lol if it tastes like i am drinking liquid s…t I won’t be drinking it 😉 we have thousands of options to choose from now! Find something quality and tastes yummy!
Always used ON, if you use one scoop with water is kinda meh, but i take 4 scoop a day, 2 scoop with water is really good.
The Neutral taste in the Gold Standard is good. Other protein drinks are just too sweet and it defeats the purpose of the fitness goals with all the added sugars that cause the fat to stick and very difficult to burn. Gold Standard is the best because you can always blend in fresh fruits like berries or bananas whatever favorite fruits which all make the best sugar substitute. I will try the Iso as well. I will purchase them both that rumor has it that these two products are at the Top Highly recommended. So I will get both of them.
One big difference between the two is that ISO has it's amount to leucine listed, but ON GS doesn't list exactly how much leucine it has. This leads me to believe that ON GS leucine content is very low.
They have more than 5 grams of the BCAAs, plus I found this (maybe not official) analysis of their amino acids 1.bp.blogspot.com/-xh06icMqwZs/UB2ihZPA3QI/AAAAAAAAAHU/X9KzpvdYjXA/s1600/Optimum+Nutrition+100.png so it seems like a normal amount of leucine. - Nick
I just bought my first protein powder and I chose the Dymatize ISO 100 because I am diabetic and this is the only one with less than 1 carb or sugars (Vinilla flavor) and I found it for .75c per scoop cheapest I could find.
I use ISO to break my fast. I do cardio in a fasted state, and 1 hour prior to weights I drink my overnight oats. I do 2 scoops of ISO with a 1/2 of cup of rolled oats (old fashioned), 1 Tbsp of Chia seeds, 8oz of water and 8oz of coffee. IT'S SO GOOD!

Is whey isolate good for diabetes type 2 patients, and weight gainer?? Please suggest
It's on you there both amazing products
I workout 6 days a week , I train 3 days in MMA and 3 days in the weights section , and I am currently recovering just about fine without a single supplement. However, I could use one scoop atleast in a day , butnthe main point being , it really doesn't matter if it's concentrate, isolate or hydrolized
If you push harder on weights that will change, not saying you should, you shouldnt be bulking or damaging you muscles, but for other people prioritizing strength or size supplements are needed. I also train martial arts and lift, and while the martial arts never leave anything but my calves sore (couple hours staying light on my feet sparring), i lift very hard because i want to see big strength gains while only lifting twice a week, and ive been sore for 4 days after at times, so supplements are necessary for me, and will be for others as well
@@noncog1 I feel you brother , I do go pretty heavy on the weights section too , all of them guided professionally , but maybe it's different bodies have different recovery rates , so that also needs to be taken to consideration
@@noncog1 Problem is supplements are too expensive to be using more than 1 scoop a day. Cheaper to get protein and carbs from eggs and pasta. That's what I do. Make tubs of egg and pasta in bulk. Cheap calories and easy to get down.
@@portman8909 like most things in life, its a tradeoff between time and money, use whatever makes more sense for you, but creatine pretty much needs to be bought as a sup, hard to get an efficacious dosage through diet
