      @@poramorafendylizbeethbauti6219 Hey!
I'm sorry to hear that you guys didn't see them yesterday. Hopefully the forecast will be good for Sunday and Monday.
I see that's predicted to be clear skies tonight but a rather low northern lights activity (2 out of 9) but since the sky is clear I would definitely give it a shot tonight.
The forecast for Friday and Saturday aren't great and I wouldn't recommend searching for the northern lights on those nights (very cloudy). I have my fingers crossed that you'll see them (either tonight or Sunday/Monday)
Best of luck - I hope this helps!

      @WakeUpReykjavik.  Před 2 lety +2

      Hey!
Thanks for the kind words - I'm glad to hear that you liked me video!
February can be a good month to see them since it gets dark early.
We can get some stormy weather in February (weather it's windy/rain or snow). Not always but can happen. With that being said, if you have the full month of February to choose from then I might recommend sometime in the later part of February, since the weather gets better (less chance of stormy weather) as we get closer to summer.
If you're doing a tour then my number one recommendation would be to book it for your first (or second, but preferably first) night in Iceland. The one that we have on our website for example offer unlimited retries until you see the lights. That way you're able to schedule a retry for your remaining nights in Reykjavik if you don't see them on your first attempt - instead of booking a tour at the later nights of your trip and not having time to reschedule a retry.
      I hope this helps!
Let me know if you have any other questions on northern lights (or just Iceland in general)
      Warmest regards,

      Ohhh how fun!!
I'm so glad to hear that you're coming to Iceland.
My top recommendation would be to book the northern lights tour for early on in your trip (first or second day) since the tour has unlimited retries if you don't see the northern lights.
Also if the weather is not favorable (cloudy og low northern lights activity) you'll be contacted with suggestions for other days to reschedule the tour that have a higher chance of seeing the lights!
I hope you're excited. Let me know if you have any questions!
      Warmest regards from Reykjavik,

Yes - you're right! We have 24 hours of daylight during summer here in Iceland - making it impossible to see the lights.
April (especially early April) can be great for seeing the lights since it still gets dark and the weather is less 'stormy' then during mid-winter - which also helps!

      Excellent question!
And yes, you're right. Seeing them in the city is uncommon. Most people however stay in Reykjavik (the main area in Iceland) and either rent a car to drive out of Reykjavik or book a northern lights tour (that departs and returns to Reykjavik).
There are towns outside of Reykjavik with less light pollution (Selfoss, Akranes or Borgarnes for example).
However, I don't know if I'd recommend staying there since theres not much going on in those towns. But also since it takes such a short amount of time to drive out of Reykjavik to see the lights - if that makes sense?

@@avaz1453 Hey! Yes, the Northern Lights start being visible in Iceland in mid-August. So September is perfect! We usually have less 'bad' weather and storms in September (compared to Jan/Feb for example) which increases visibility/chances of seeing the lights!

Hey there! Yes, we have had some amazing Northern Lights early in the season here some years, other years we have not. We never know beforehand it is all up to nature 🤷‍♀️ but we recommend booking early so you have mire chances to rebook!

Hey thee Christina! A great question, we usually start seeing the lights late in August and when they show up then the tours start, it is always a bit different from season to season however so you might need to wait until April to actually secure your tickets to the tour!

That's a great question. Yes - the cruise can be fantastic as well since it'll be sailing away from all of the city lights in Reykjavik :)
