    I was thinking of a better way to record ps2 gameplay but I never tried it. My idea was to get a smart tv that can screen record and one with a YPbPr Component input for a YPbPr Component cable for best quality. So all you would do is hook up the ps2 and a hard drive to the tv and it puts the recording on the hard drive then hook it up the hard drive to your computer then bang hd footage.

Just FYI, here is an updated version of this but in this video I had figured out how to hear the sound while playing: czcams.com/video/br-d-GegO4g/video.html - to answer your question, with OBS studio in your audio settings you could turn on the microphone and it would record your game play, sound as well as your microphone (so anything you are saying as you play). I think you might be able to add your webcam as an extra source as well so you could record yourself playing. . . as well as the game play (I haven't tried that, but pretty sure it can be done). Hope that all makes sense and helps.

      Make sure you have your PS2 on, under sources in OBS studio double click on the source you built for your PS2. Change the "device" to something else. . . . . then flip it back to USB video. If you have it plugged in correct, when you hit the correct device you should see your PS2. Let me know if you still can't get it. • @JUMBLE2015
      @JUMBLE2015  Před 2 lety +1

      Your computer processer could have something to do with it. What you might try is in OBS studio. . . go to file --> Settings --> Output. Set the video bit rate to 3500 KBPS. Set the Encoder Preset to "veryfast". Set the Recording Quality to "Indistinguishable Quality, Large File Size". Then go to the "Video" section of settings and make sure your Downscale Filter to "Bilinear (Fastest, but blurry if scaling). . . and your Common FPS Values to "30". Then click OK to get out of settings. See if that doesn't help.

    • @JUMBLE2015
      @JUMBLE2015  Před rokem +1

      @@I80SportsBlog I personally don't do that, but it is easy if you wanted to. If you plug in a microphone/headset you will see it as an audio source in OBS studio. You can simple choose to mute it (so that the only sound in your recording is the game play), or you can un mute it so that it will capture your PS2 audio as well as what you are saying on the microphone. You can also use the audio mixer volume controls so that your mic audio is louder that the PS2 audio. I do it all thru OBS, I am sure there is a fancier way to do it but OBS is free and works perfect for me. Hope that helps, let me know if you have questions once you get going.

      Hum. So make sure you have your PS2 on (not required but I find it helps to be able to find the source). In OBS studio look at the sources. . . double click the one you created for your PS2. . . . when the Properties window for that source opens, click the "Window" drop down and look for the one that says something like "USB" video. If you hit the right one, you should see your PS2 playing which will confirm that you are on the right one. Let me know if that does not make sense.
