Their new singer has been their rhythm guitarist for a while now, as a touring/session member for a few album cycles and officially joining last cycle. You might also recognize him as the singer for Eidola. When the band parted ways with Tilian, they put out the double single with Andrew to see how it went with him as a new singer. Also, dont worry about the lyrics. Their lyrics are like Bimuris videos and song titles. Nonsensical but fun. Also, as an unrelated note, I wish that CZcams's autoplay for playlists would pause when you are typing a comment. Took me fifteen minutes to realize that it posted the comment on a completely different video because the autoplay swappes vids as I was posting the comment.

Awesome man, thanks for giving it a listen! I can definitely see your points on the Straight from the Heart song, but to echo some of the other comments, after listening a few more times it grows on you. The guys that does the screaming, Jon Mess, his lyrics are just fun most of the time, and funny to hear once you know what he says.

The first song was clearly written with Tilian, all the vocal runs and Andrew making his hardest to sound like Tilian, probably why I enjoy it the most as well

Love me some DGD. With their recent lineup changes they're going for more of a Secret Band+ feel with Jon being the focal point.
I personally prefer the second song due to it being more Secret Band-y, as the first felt like it was more made for Tilian before he left

Give War Machine by DGD a shot. Prior single and last one with the former frontman. Personally, my favorite song by them

If you liked the first track then definitely need to listen to more DGD, that was standard. There is clearly something more going on with the second song and I'm interested to look deeper. Didn't bother me as much as it did you buy I've been getting into more and more experimental shit lately

It’s a shame but we’re all different man no worries. Usually with their music you gotta hear it more than 3-5 times for it to click, it sure does with me. If you ever got the time listen to a popular song from them, maybe 2 times, then some other day listen to it another 2-3 times. You might surprise yourself 👍

Had the same opinion on first listen. Still prefer Speed Demon but Straight From The Heart grew on me over subsequent listens.
That said, the lyrics from the harsh vocalist very seldom make any sense. Kinda the charm of the thing. Goes more for vibes and tone than telling a story or sending a message.

If you want a laugh, you gotta sit down and just read through Jon Mess’ (the harsh vocalist) lyrics. They make zero sense to anyone still living on this plane of existence. But somehow it works since no one can tell what he’s saying most of the time.

It’s called “challenging the listener”, that second song has it written all over lol took me 6 listens in 2 days for that song to click for me. Those weird guitar tones and off beats all sound amazing to me now

You should check out Eidola. Andrew is the lead singer there and I think his voice shines a bit better with their style.
