  • A bit of a longer video as I ramble a touch here, but this should hopefully cover any questions on how I get my Skeletons to 90+ toughness in just 2 days (ingame time)
    If you'd like to join the discord mentioned in the video, this is the link: / discord (link edited, thanks to Void in the comments) it's just a regular ol' discord, there's people in it and sometimes we all play games like fibbage and you'll know when I stream, that's about it.
    Thank you so much for watching, I hope you all have wonderful days.

    you can train toughness on non-skeletons by tying them to one of the fogmen posts and let them get eaten. Gotta have a friend who can sneak in and rescue them before they get killed though.

    Actually skeletons can heal on the ground with no prior requirements as long as you right click them with the heal icon while they're still rebooting. They won't auto heal otherwise, but if you order them to heal themselves while still rebooting they will heal themselves while playing dead

    Year old video but someone might still read the comments so whatever:
    The most busted toughness exploit I've found is just going to the tower of abuse, sprinting past all the thralls (hiring a merc squad for 1 day will help) and diving onto one of the skeleton beds at the top. You'll get eternally smacked for as long as you're lying there, and despite the dialogue (and lore of the location) Ponk isn't actually interested in killing skeleton PCs and will just let them get thrown out once you're done. Not as fast as this fogman method but totally AFK, you can just go play the game with another character and come back to a skele with 70 toughness a day or two later - and totally free because the skeleton bed will repair perma-damage up until you leave.
    Oh, and because you're constantly getting smacked with this method, and sleeping characters are considered unarmed, this also skyrockets your dodge to the 60s. Perfect if you want to make Tinfist Jr.

      Good advice, though just wanted to say regarding the lore, it's not entirely clear that Ponk/Screamer the False just throwing you out instead of thralling skeleton PC's *isnt* lore friendly, because the only skeleton subtype that can be played in vanilla are the normal MK I body skeleton models, and the only skeletons that end up as thralls are the MK II skeletons, so, for whatever reason, MK I skeletons might not be able to be thralled. (Whether this is tied to the specific model of MK II model is unclear as they don't have heads to distinguish them. Though due to in game bins of screamer heads found in thrall heavy, its clear that screamer model MK II's can be thralled, though its likely that MK II-P4 models and Logheads can be thralled too albeit its technically not "guaranteed") That said, there are points of contention, for example, why (besides thralling) was Agnu was imprisoned considering that Agnu is a MK I model? Though I suppose there could be some other reason like some sort of ancient beef between the thrall masters and Agnu.
      There a lot of conjecture on why this is, but one potential reason is that whilst the first empire made MK I skeletons (which are **significantly** more durable and likely more expensive/complex to manufacture) the 2nd empire is responsible for making MK II skeleton bodies. Almost the entirety of the second empire characters in kenshi (excluding a couple of leaders) are MK II model skeletons. Further theorization might imply that the MK II skeleton bodies were used as ways to 'resurrect' MK I skeletons that have "died" by placing their head (and therefore AI core) onto a new, less advanced, and less durable body with a more exposed AI core as a means to prevent the loss of skeleton life as much as possible (and considering there are *no* skeleton heads that exclusively appear on the MKII bodies, its not impossible).

    This and get eaten alive in the fogmen pole who are fast as fck(and escape after ofc) are one of the best ways to train, just get beat down, get up, repeat. You actually can do the same with hungry bandits and dust bandits. After some lvl your character start healing while playing dead, get up, KO, heal etc. Even if you have the KO points below the necessary to not stay unconscious, with enough wounds healed, you not die and get up again with 1 health and can repeat the process until lvl 100

    wow I have to say with 2000+ hours in kenshi I never noticed why they keeled over again when I told my toons to get up now I know and the faact that small chance to get your dodge up higher like this is also very good, all i know is to get your defense up higherr a little bit quicker is try and get a weapon with negative in defense and wear a large backpack but you can organise that for later and I find the hungry bandits south part of skinners roam where there are mainly large groups of hungry bandits and the occasional bull packs is a goodish spot to level up your fleshy toons just need to try and get strong armour before doing that :P

      You're super right, which is great because all these tutorials can be made so incredibly effective by dragging your bonuses into the negatives. there's also the neat trick of letting yourself have a missing arm, which actually raises the bonus for toughness XP received by a decent chunk, you can also equip prototype hive prosthetics for even lower skills and so on and so on! thank you for watching my stuff, it was really nice to read the kind comments!

    Foglands is great for creating a cyborg division.
    I have a 10 man main combat squad that I leveled traditionally. Then I picked 10 guys to create uber soldiers. I put them on the poles of the fogmen and let their limbs get eaten. Toughness skyrocketed and was easier to level up to 90 because of xp multiplier cause of missing limbs.
    Then I attached robotic arms and legs to the cyborgs and they have like stupidly great stats: over 90 dex, 90 toughness, over 90 heavy weapons and melee attack. Working on training STR now. That I cannot train by cheesing the game unfortunately.

  • @melanclock
    @melanclock Před 2 lety +4

    I think training unarmored is worse than training with heavy armor because you can take more and larger hits before having to heal

    • @s0u7th13f
      @s0u7th13f  Před 2 lety +5

      This one is mostly dependant, taking larger hits levels you faster and gets you into the kocked down state faster (which is where you want to be) but taking smaller hits more often would lead you to no get to your KO point as easily meaning you don't have to enter "Recovery Coma" as early.
      Purely preference here, as both methods have gotten me to 90's in about 2 days in game.

    If you have a modded game play, the crossbow stuff tends to be very powerful.
    Turn up damage multiplier to 2x and everything that is 70 base damage hits like a truck and KO a character if their limbs aren't more than 100hp, and in fights in the Shek kingdom, limbs go flying in one hit.

      It's happened to me countless times at this point, so I just quicksave all the time to be ready to quickload
