Thanks Jim, you inspired me to swap out the factory tuners on my Washburn B-16, and I replaced all 5 with the 5 star ivorys. So much smoother and easier. Appreciate the video that showed me I could. 😊
That is awesome!
I replaced the tuners on the Madeira 5-string banjo I found in a local antique shop with 5 Star tuners. The old tuners were frozen and wouldn't budge. I did have to ream the holes out a bit as the 5 Star posts were larger in diameter than the originals. I did have to send the banjo out to a professional to replace the old friction 5th string tuner with a 5 Star geared tuner. I don’t know if the old one was glued in or what but it wouldn't budge. All 5 tuners now work great.
Awesome!!
Love it jim
Thanks
Keep on makin the vids
That’s the plan.
I would take apart my toys to see what made them tick. That extra knowledge is "instrumental " to becoming a better teacher or student.
It's a very important right of passage!
Kewl!!
Thanks!
Thanks Jim, wonder if the tuners on Gold Tones have the same warranty?
No idea…
Jim, thanks for the video. Did you replace 5th tuner offscreen or did you just receive 4 ?
The 5th string tuner was fine and didn’t need to be replaced.
@@JimPankey thanks
Thanks Jim. Do 5 star tuners fit all banjos? I have a Pyle banjo and I love it. It's got a great sound and I've noticed a very slight peg slip. It's not a problem yet. I'm just looking ahead. I'm still one of your beginners going over the lessons and licks and a few songs I've come across on your site. You're the best. Thanks again for making my banjo dream a reality.
As long as the hole is 3/8 it should fit. You’re getting into a price range, though, where you’re going to have almost as much in tuners as you would the banjo.
Thanks Jim. I appreciate all of your help;@@JimPankey
I had to ream out the holes on my Madeira banjo as the old tuner posts were smaller in diameter than the 5 Stars. Took a few extra minutes but they then fit perfectly.
Mrs mosteller gave me your sticker and I put it on my guitar case
😊
What is that you use instead of scruggs style tuner?
