    This was an exceptionally good vid! Very thorough, and informative. Really enhanced my decision making ability. I wanted a multi effects bass pedal, that worked well, was durable, expandable, and fun to use. Sound wise, this was in the running. However, being a plastic box, and the expression pedal attached, were both deal breakers for me. I went with the Zoom B3N and a Zoom FP02M expression pedal. I'm actually glad I did. Similar functionality to this pedal, but a little more with the durability of a tank! But, this one would make a good backup, hmmmmm...

    It's alright, getting a lot of noise when using USB power so I had to get a proper power supply. The d'addario 0.5A charger works just as good as the zoom one (the official charger is way overpriced). Overall decent, just wish I could get rid of some of the noise when using it thru an interface. Also I should note the noise issue is significantly reduced when running the bass in passive mode, which doesn't give me some of the pre amp modeling I would have liked, but those options are also in the pedal.

    It's the same as any other multi-fx, alot of mix bag but nothing that out preforms,the compressors are nice,the Auto Wah is nice,the octaver whammy is fun,the distortion is nice,but most of the modulated effects still don't have bite or don't behave like you want,it greatly depends on the setup and strings,the synth and talkbox section was a let down so do not buy for those,drum loops and looper are decent for practice,price is good,if you want a really high featured portable head phone amp it's a good buy.

    Thanks for your review. I was considering the Valeton Dapper Bass, but the Zoom seems to be a better value. And I’m learning. One thing I often wonder about, is why is there such a difference in price between a multi effect pedal and single pedals. You can get 100 FX for a 100 box and 1 pedal for the same. Yes quality… no one came up with a competitive quality product: say 10 high quality pedals bundled for 500… ? Thanks again 🙏

    • @Guitartomguitar
      @Guitartomguitar  Před 3 lety +2

      Thanks for commenting Emmanuel. I have long wondered that myself. Obviously the quality of each individual pedal will be higher than if its in a multi effects unit, but with some of the higher end multi effects unit the quality of the effects are the same as individual pedals.

      A lot of the single effect pedals I have encountered are typically made of more durable material that can stand getting roughed up a bit. I feel you're paying more for the overall housing materials and such than anything else. If you could take this pedal and put it into a steel casing with high quality bearings and foot switches, the price would jump big time. Edit - you would likely need some sort of heat dispersion if this circuitry was inside a steel casing as well. Again driving up the price.

      Thank You Levi. Makes sense. I’ve been using the multi-effect for a year now. Although it’s great I find myself always using the same effects. I have created some too. Yet, I think for those doing live shows, I can see that for full flexibility and ease of use having single effects makes more sense. 🤔

    6:10 Can anyone justify this effect? I’ve always said that a creative mind can find a way to work with the strangest of conditions, but this sounds like it throws away a vast majority of your dry signal in favor of something impractical. This sounds like something you’d get if you experiment with random knobs on a synth, but here it is as a preset taking up valuable and limited space.

      @@RayPaganJr I have the MXR Bass Fuzz Deluxe and it's not a multi-effect.
      You said regarding the Zoom B1X Four.. "Got mine from Amazon. After playing around with it for a week, the novelty wore off. It’s not ideal switching from one effect to the next one you desire with one foot tap, you have to cycle through, which you just can’t do if you want to be play real-time. I returned it today and got the MXR Bass Fuzz Deluxe."
      so I asked..
      "So you got a pedal that only does a fuzz effect because you felt your multi effect was difficult to switch between various effects?"
      And you replied "No."
      I just want people who potentially might read our inconsequential interaction to see how little sense you're making.

      Hey Jean-Pierre. It's really easy to do that. If you turn the tuner on it bypasses all the effects.

    Working with some folks (see description) on versatile remote control. I plan to make a Ctrlr panel for it ideally in Raspberry Pi with a massive touch screen :-)

    Looked for a lot of reviews and everyone barely talks about the expression pedal. Is it worth going for the b1x? I'm afraid I won't use it and I'll just buy a more expensive and bigger pedal.

      Hey. I find I personally dont use the expression pedal often and only for using the manual wah. I guess it can also be used as a volume pedal if you need that, but they would be the two main reasons to get it I guess.

      Hi John, I've had it a year or so, admittedly I don't use the expression pedals much, but I haven't had any trouble with them and nor have I seen any posts about people having issues with them.

    Let’s say I have a gig.... and I want to go from #23 to #45. Do I have to step on the foot pedal 22 times to get there, or is there a way to set it up so I can have all my favorite sounds in a group and easy to access?

    • @Guitartomguitar
      @Guitartomguitar  Před 3 lety +1

      Hey. You can create a group of your favourite sounds in the user banks, so if for example you likes #23 and #45, you could copy those settings to pedals #51 and #52 so you only need to press a pedal once to get there. Also, to get to user banks you only need to press one button, so ultimately to get to the sounds you like you only need to press the pedal 3 or 4 times. Hope that helps.

      Hey, the only potential issue is that sometimes Active Basses can sound a bit weird with amp simulations, so you can just deselect the amp simulations (ie use the effects only). I haven't tested it myself but I don't think it will be a big issue for you.
