Great video that came at a great time for me. I'm sure many others will say the same, seems like a lot of people are dealing with injuries/pain recently.
Also thought it was funny seeing Calgary Barbell post an injury/rehab related vlog 2 days ago, Joey flexx posting a pain related video earlier today and now David posting this today as well. Hope your pec continues to improve!
I think a big thing people miss during this process is realizing that after an injury some changes in programming may need to stay permanent after pain completely subsides.
For example when I was rehabbing a stubborn sciatic/hamstring issue I had to change some things with my programming to reduce the pain. After I would do this I would return to what I was doing in the past , leading to a bad cycle. What ended up working more was taking the programming changes I made to reduce pain and merging that with my old system.
Sometimes after an injury you come out a different athlete than before.
I’m not a coach or a pt just what I’ve learned through a chronic injury.
You are totally right. And my pec is a good example here. The pain isn’t nothing. It is a signal that I potentially do want to look for changes since currently things are exceeding tissue tolerance. Perceived or otherwise.
@@BrazosValleyStrengthIk every situation is different but if I was you I’d start with frequency! I hope you find the right changes quickly! Tired of seeing you have so many set backs! You are due for a super meet already!
The thing that jumped out at me was you mentioning having doubts before it turned out as well as it has. Totally resonates with me. You can "know" the right approach to take and commit to it but it's still so easy to have that doubt until you're on the other side of it. (... And then it's easy at that point to be like duh of course hah.)
bring on the podcast! your content is an amazing to learn up from brandon!
Loved this and agree!
Daviddd! You still haven’t made the long waited “how to bench press complete guide” and recovery videos. Just remember that we totally get that life can get in the way and you can get busy. But now that you are back at posting we hope to see them soon.
I hope that you talk about fatigue management in the recovery video.
And contact point on the bench video. I’m sure it’ll be a lil hard since you’ll have to go into both sinking and soft touch bench tho.
Thanks for putting out awesome content!
You're being utterly ridiculous lol
I was going to respond to this one, but I promised not to be mean in the video.
@@BrazosValleyStrength I thought you just meant that in response to rehab related comments lmao
I did. But I figured I should try to be nicer in general and this was a good one to practice that.
@@BrazosValleyStrength The life of a content creator. 😂
Have you thought about changing grip for a while? Having had a lot of schoulder problems from past sports, the easiest solution for tendon/ joint pain has been changing my normal grip to close grip (or even dips) for a while, whilst going a bit higher reps. You have probably already thought about this, but I would like to hear your reasons (next to specificity) to this decition?
Hi, can you talk about squatting to depth? I'm having trouble with it, thanks.
Do you like Barbell Medicine? Didn’t see them on the list
I do! Their pain stuff in particular is good. I don’t want people to feel like these are the only resources. Maybe just those that resonate most strongly with me, and I was trying to keep the list short.
Love BBM’s content! Would be great to see a collab with Austin, Jordan or Derek!
Been dealing with pec issues since 2016 my self. Pec strains/pec minor tendinopathy. Wouldnt wish this type of shit on any lifter.

Stop benching
Will that help me at my meet?
Why not reduce frequency to 2x week?
@adonosssi sounds like you didn’t watch the video. That’s literally what the video was about….
@@BrazosValleyStrengthoh ur right i just shared what i would have done so i was on right tracks anyway before watching video entirely im just tryna be smartass😂
