What's the first song you would play on the Korg SV-2? Looking for more ways to take your piano playing to the next level? Like and subscribe! Thank you!
Baby I Love Your Way--Frampton. EP with juicy phaser dialed in!
I would probably try for âFlying Homeâ off the Kick-Ass soundtrack on either a piano patch or a string patch. Actually, when you got to the strings patches here, I wanted to hear that. Perhaps on a future video, you can throw it in somewhere? ;)
I'd do anything for love - Meat Loaf. I just learned it and already sold my Yamaha P-125 to pre-order the SV-2S 88. Hopefully next week it arrives. So long real world.
Pink Floyd's Sheep
Any Donny Hathaway tune
Wow - by far, the best demo of this board! Great player, and he eloquently displayed the true potential of this thing. Iâm sold.
Thank you Joel! đ
I live in Fort Wayne and go to Sweetwater weekly. I get to see this guys in the Showroom playing all the time. They have some of the greatest players on the flooring selling products. I spend have my paycheck there :)
@@sweetwater agree ! makes you want that keyboard right away (but I wish it was packed with the playing skills too^^). Correct me if I'm wrong, but is it acceptable to assume the KingKorg is a fairly good budget alternative for music producing ?
You must have not watched any other demos at all
WOW Sweetwater. I have been watching instrument demos on youtube since 2014 and from a production and show the features of the product in question standpoint you guys just hit this one to MARS!!! keep it up and thanks for all the hard work you put into everything you do.
Thanks for watching! đđ
Jacob seems to have the most chill vibe Iâve ever seen in a human. What a great soulful player. Iâm gonna buy it from you guys just cause of him! (Iâm from NYC so heâs an anomaly) good going!
Jacob Dupre is a very good keyboard player with a deep understanding of musical feelings.
The keyboard sounds great too. The horns near the end sound a little pinched off, but that's normal.
I wouldn't use a synth for horn parts anyway.
Thank you for the tour, Jacob!
Beautiful outstanding piano playing. What increditable sounds you acheived and demonstrated . Never stop, thank you very much.
Jacob's demos are fantastic. Love watching him play!
I am sold - excellent playing, eloquent delivery, and demo! The SV-2 will be my upcoming purchase.
Honestly a great demo. Sounds great canât wait to get my hands on this bad boy!
Outstanding demonstration. Pour me a glass of something smooth and I could just sit and listen for hours. Thanx.
Dude! Finally! I've been waiting for the SV-2! I also play "Pure Imagination" all the time.
Iâm new to this channel, and I gotta say that of the two keyboard reviews Iâve seen you present here, I can hardly remember anything about the keyboards themselves! Iâm totally blown away by your absolute mastery of playing man! Your feel, harmony, technique and dexterity are monstrous bro! I think you should be on the top of the pyramid of pianists and keyboard starts in the world.
Keep making these videos, it is such a pleasure to be in the presence of such talent.
Ashraf Dahab kinda makes me feel inadequate though :/
I just can't get over the vintage look. It's so good.
Foreal i want it so bad
On my wish list for sure. Such a quality build and sound from this instrument. All for a great price as well
You had me at SV-2! THANK YOU FOR SUCH A THOROUGH DEMO!
đđ
Well done Jacob - brilliant review and great playing!
thanks for demonstrating the Electric Grand Piano, a lot of the times demonstrators forget these and go straight to the Rhodes.
this must be the best Korg stage piano out there, kicks the ass out of everything else Korg ive heard....
Yeah man, I got 'very warm thoughts' about this KORG! I can see and hear your dedication to most of the sounds and the expression...what a beauty! The white version with the two speakers is not only a museum piece, it's just simply all about 'sound and feel' and this brand always manages to gives 'even more' than that! Thanks!
Excellent showpiece of the keyboard I am just about to buy!! (Especially after watching this video.
Great stuff!!
really nice demo - great playing
The Lick @ 27:20! Great playing on a great sounding board. Well done Korg and Sweetwater.
amazing playing!!!
Great review! Great playing!
Absolutely superb demo đ
Finally a demo guy that can play!
Just bought the SV2 88S it sounds fantastic, man its heavy.
Yeah, this is definitely up there on the presentations Iâve seen of this piano
I must say,the piano sound is really, eally very good!
That first piano sound it's so good man
Great demo! Very convincing.
Excellent demo. đâ€
explained really well â€â€
need this korg đ
Holy shit. Iâm sold. This will work well in my supertramp cover band
Great job đ !!!!
Clever reharmonization of Hey Jude @ 22:22 !!
Heâs scary good
Solid demo. Motivated me to get the 88s (w/ speakers) version.
How goes it now? Glad you made the investment? Considering the same.
Great job
Love the acoustic piano sounds -- beats many software pianos in my opinion!!!
ready to start a band with this man asap. masterful playing, my friend
Awesome demo. Setting the phaser at a slow tempo may help find its use :)
great playing and great demo. Wondering how you have the rig connected to an amp? I see three wires out the back. Thanks
It's beautiful
So good. Very inspiring. As ever.
Remember way back when owned Triton extreme 88. When I saw that tube thought it was a gimmick. No way the amount of harmonic content was unreal. Actually miss that on my Kronos. Have no idea what voltage it runs off but it added so much warmth and harmonics.
I have triton extreme and that tube gives a warmth and harmonic content..wish Kronos had that too
wow impressive !
i actually can't afford most of these instruments but i just enjoy watching them all been played so effortlessly.
Excellent demo showing the basic nuances of the acoustic piano section. Acoustic pianos are the most difficult to recreate on a digital keyboard. Thank You. đđœđđŒ
You''re a great player
Jacob, can you run external instruments through the FX?
I would not mind starting a band with him! He's really good!
How do the sounds compare to the Grandstage (Korg)?
Great video
Seems to be a great improvement from SV-1, but i still donât see a demo showing that the all the previous downsides have been enhanced. Can you play chorus and phaser at the same time? Can you custom the layers when using two of them or just the ones by default? It is possible to download other voices? How powerful is the software? How much can you tweak the patches from software? And so on, if you can add more please be my guest.
I need this in my life!
Wow!! Nice demo and wonderful piano... I'm so Happy to Say that "italian's Do It Better...", Really really good job!!
11:55 Ive seen a live hiatus kaiyote video where they dialed that exact sound into an sv-2
21:25 My moment of "must have"
I like the feel of this keyboard. I tried it at Guitar Center. It had nice personality. Drawbacks. 1) The knobs felt cheap. You sometimes had to spin them around several times to see the light indicator change. 2) the cabinet looks made cheap and like it won't stand up to heavy wear and tear / gigs / traveling IMO. 3) i found the string sounds pretty cheap.
That is absolutely amazing! Awesome demo! Though I have 2 questions. Can you use the rotary sound effect on sounds other than the organs and can you split sounds and choose the split point?
you should be able to use any of the internal amps with any setting. They are selected separately, so you could use rotary on a piano, or wah on an organ etc.
This guy is awesome. Less talking more playing and it's been fun. Maaaan korg really is awesome. Whenever korg makes a sound it is well made. The only issue I had with them was the pianos and Rhodes for years are weak until the Kronos. Back then the SV1 piano should have been in the M3 and other korg synths. That would have saved a bunch of customers.
Can I change and save the master pitch on the SV2?
I really hope you are selected to demo the new Rowland RD-88. (hint hint)
Beautiful! Thank you for showing. Question: Can you also record all those piano effects just like how you hear it in this video?
Hi, Montana. There are no recording features on the keyboard itself but you can record it to your computer or a standalone recorder.
Feel free to reach out with any other questions. Thanks!

Can you put sounds from the Sv1 onto the sv2?
Now i have a yamaha reface yc hooked to a deluxe reverb clone amp but this is the next best thing, someday....
Your reface wins this battle. Korg is great, but Yamaha really killed it with their Reface series. The CP model is amazing as well...
I wonder when Korg will upgrade their top action...?
Those knobs. Thatâs the secret. Who needs screens. Ray Charles will be buying this one for sure. Fkn amazing sounds.
Hello, can you tell me wich song does it play at 19.30 ?? THANK YOU
The quintessential instrument for Hearts of Space and the return of Enya.
I wish I could afford one. I wanted the SV1 but these are even nicer.
Sound so good but i Must have it in my Dream đ
hi, on the "Tape echo" can the repeat rate be changed using the [tap tempo] button ?
Hello! That is a great question! Unfortunately Korg hasn't released the manual for the SV2 yet, and since these units are in pre production but haven't yet hit stores, I don't have one I can test out here. That being said, I believe the tap tempo controlled only the digital delay in the original SV-1, so I don't have anything from Korg to indicate they changed that in the SV2.
If you'd like to go into more detail, please call my number below. Thanks for your interest!

great playing. and a very well structured demo. (thank you for not playing a James Bond theme....)
I'm interested in purchasing either the Korg sv2 or Nord Piano 4/5 and one of the features that matter to me a lot is a pitch bend stick and mod wheel. Is there any way to use a small stand alone MIDI controller for that?
Hey, Elazar! Thanks for reaching out. Looking at the MIDI implementation charts for both of those in the manuals, it looks like you cannot do this with the Korg SV2. The Nord Piano 5 shows control options for modulation and layer detuning, but I don't specifically see pitch bend listed. That's all laid out on page 27 of the Nord Piano 5 manual online. Hopefully this helps!

Hello! I dont have experince on stage pianos. Pls can you let me know wich one is better, new one Korg SV2 or Korg Grandstage? Also do they have sounds like bells, harpsichord, glockenspiel, marima, kalimba, vibrafon, ksylofon, harp etc.? Thanks
Also I would like to know are the keys close to piano keys?
Hello! There is quite a bit of overlap between Korg's GrandStage and the new SV2, to be honest with you. They share a lot of the same sounds, and the 88 key models have the same RH3 weighted key action. The Grandstage is a deeper instrument with more sounds, which is why it costs a bit more money.
Full details of the SV2 aren't quite out yet since it's so new, but here is the full patch list for the GrandStage: cdn.korg.com/us/support/download/files/852e7f49c67521acf3cb66689c7e20cf.pdf?response-content-disposition=inline%3Bfilename%3DGrandstage_SNL_EFGSJ1.pdf&response-content-type=application%2Fpdf%3B

@@erhanshukri just simply do you research,decide on your budget,think on what you like to play and when/where the most and all that will give you your answer. From a long time piano players opinion, 88 keys are not needed,73 is the 'sweet spot don;t buy a board that has sounds you will never use,the same way buying a board you have to add sounds too[ research!lol}
Are these the same sounds in the Kronos?
Ya but, how do you split and layer the keyboard. No info in manual on how to use the FUNCTION key.
can the damper noise be turned off?
Nice.
Wow stupéfiant
Nice demo. This vs. the CP-88?
I'm usually not that interested in these stage keyboard but this demo and the quality of sound/effects on the SV-2 has me feeling hot and bothered!!! Price is pretty tasty too! The keybed looks like it allows for lots of expressiveness. Jeez.
With the "other" sounds, when you said "very last one", isn't there the ability to depress the rotary to access the second, "green" bank of sounds? So I think there's 12 "other" sounds, not 6. Could be wrong...
We've got a Halo player xD You seem to me more of a pianist than a keyboardist, if that makes sense. Did you ever lament having only 73 keys here? I'm planning to buy, but I've been agonizing over 73 vs 88. 73 seems like a very nice compromise and fits across the back seat. Then again, 88 is the real deal.
el mejor sonido d cuerdas q he escuchado la realidad pura d un violonchelo
Is it possible to change the organ rotary speed with an expression pedal? That would be amazing.
Hey, Heather. Thanks for reaching out! The Korg SV-2 is a great stage piano with a ton of possibilities. The manual of the unit actually goes into detail on how an expression pedal can be automatically assigned to adjust the rotary speed, and more! Hopefully this helps, but let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks and have a great day!

I think I want one of these.
This guy is talented
Could someone compare the sensitivity of the keys with other models and other brands?
still using the decade+ old action that the SV1 used?
In the market for a new piano, and was a fan of the SV1.
The SV2 is HIGH on my list.
I'm Sold! However I just went to place my order but they are outta stock...using my sweetwater card for this must have board!
I had been talking to Sweet water about 8 months ago looking for a stage piano. Couldnât make up my mind, but liked the Yamaha CP88. I put everything on hold for a bit and Iâm glad I did - this Korg may be IT! Any thoughts comparing this to the CP88? The interface of the Korg looks like something I would really like.
Buy the Korg, you will love it. If you go Yamaha, buy the MODX, you will love the pianos
Mike Rutigliano I did buy the Korg....and I do love it đ
songbird857 Great Decision! I had a Montage 8 and traded it away for a Nord Stage 3 had to pay an extra bit though but itâs hella dope
What tuning is this in?
This is a disturbingly good board. I am tired of the 'this board does everything' products. I find them too complex, difficult to access the sounds you prefer and 90% of its contents probably never used. Finally, the SV-1 came along 10 years ago and changed the landscape for the better. Now the SV-2 is here and from everything I have seen so far, they have added to what was a very complete unit to begin with by broadening choices. I love the built in speakers as an option. They are loud enough that one could ditch the PA in many occasions, especially as a solo player. What sold me was Korg supply the topline keybed in this model. Normally, that is reserved for only the dearest models, not for specific mid priced units like the SV-2. A welcome change as not everyone wants an arranger or top end model. Well done Korg, 10/10. I ordered mine with the speakers which is an extra $300, money well spent I feel but it is not available yet, only the none speaker models available in Australia as of 24/02/2020. Can't wait to jam along with my favourite blues & jazz artists.
Update: The SV2 is here but we are still waiting for the SV2S however, due to the Covid-19, the whore-salers will not commit to a price for the local suppliers blaming the current market & unstable dollar. This is disgraceful as it has a $R.R.P is already set and many stores have taken orders. Today I rang my local store & was informed the SV2S 88 when it lands, may be hundreds of dollars more, possibly over $4000 Aus. As there is SV2 88's in stock, I changed my order to that and will pick it up this weekend, 28/3/20. Since I have bought other 'boards' and associated gear from this shop, they are doing a great price of $2600 for the SV2 88 key. I am looking forward to hooking it up and getting my 70's vibe on. Stay tuned as I will review the Korg SV2 when I have had it for a week or so.
Yeah. The short supply of the 88S was a bit off putting.
I shopped around everywhere. Luckily AMS is getting some in stock on Saturday. Hopefully I can get it soon, so I can spend time playing it as opposed to watching videos on it
Agreed, this board has an expressiveness to it that I don't hear as much of in other offering at this price range. I've seen others say it sounds muddy or dark but I'm just not getting that from the demos I have heard so far. It's smooth and balanced to my ear. Very dynamic and deep, like a well built instrument in a room with great mics capturing it. The Nord and Roland offering sound processed and compressed when compared side by side to this. Very upper mid forward which is not bad overall but its more like someone else's idea of an idealized ep/piano sound. It's almost like comparing a DI instrument to a Mic'd instrument sound. I could take the Korg and EQ/Compress/saturate and distort it ending up in a place that is unique for me. While other boards as of late have already done those things for me. The immediacy of Nord,Yamaha,Roland is great and if what you need is greatest hits no hassle good sounds then look no further. However, I feel like the SV2 might be the better choice for those looking to carve their own sounds, you know, slap your own outboard gear on this thing and see where you end up type thing.layering with other instruments/sounds. It's dead simple to operate too which is a plus in my book.
@@metalplatedfacejob it sounds dark compared to the SV-1. The SV-1 has more bite and presence and is in my opinion a superior sound (your opinion may be different though). But yeah the authenticity of both the SV-1 and 2 is amazing

This is impressive. I think that's the 73 model we see. There is also an 88 model, but 73 seems appropriate for this instrument, plus it's cheaper and easier to transport. It looks like it should have a curved lid, but I see no mention of one. I know there is a music rest.
I wonder how robust it is. Does that front bar bend into the keys?
Yes it does
I hope they launch a black one with black speakers soon.
