McQueen couldn't be faster as storm but can be smarter than him which stopped him from getting a next gen revamp or modifications between him and Doc Hudson
Lightning mcqueen is quite the same speed as Jackson Storm if you check in Cars 2, however Lightning McQueen's body shape and his experience of racing makes him much smarter than him and how many tricks McQueen had been learning, he put it in action when teaching Cruz.
You could even see in Flordia 500, he passed a bunch of next gen racers, however half part of the race, he mentored Cruz instead since he knows he's getting old so he becomes to mentor cruz with the tricks he learned
He could’ve won , after he got rebuilt , he got back his old potential , which was 212.5 mph while being reckless , but with training and experience, in Cars 2 we saw that he achieved 225 mph and Jackson Storm had an average of 207 mph while his best was 214 mph , maybe McQueen could have won if he really wanted to finish this race
but after the new gen in cars 4💝

I think Cars 3 was the perfect ending, everyone likes to claim that “oh McQueen got done dirty” or “oh it was way to soon to seem him get old.” Well if you think about it, it’s not, McQueen raced for a decade, won 7 championships, he has nothing else to prove, plus when he trained Cruz, it’s a wholesome moment to show that he truly cared about doc and looked up too him and wanted to be like him.

@@mrea_joshua then what would have cars 3 been about? Continue the story with Fin and Mater? Go back to a similar style of movie like the first one? Nothing would have really worked, McQueen had been racing for 10+ years atp and their was no other real story to continue the trilogy so I think cars 3 was perfect.

Cars 3 is a real as it gets in terms of stock car racing, they got faster (to a certain limit), safer and lighter, doc, mcqueen and now cruz is the evolution of a good nascar team. Really nice movie.
Cars 1: Normal racing and stuff where Mcqeen dominates.
Cars 2: Mcqueen having some races but movie's main focus on Spies like Finn Mcmissile on their mission to catch some Engine stealers.
Cars 3: Back with cars on the track with the focus on racing again which was actually the thing of "cars" but vehicles gettin' replaced by next gen racers
In the series cars on the road that takes place after Cars 3 its revealed that Lightning is still a racer alongside Cruz
Something I've always found ridiculous from Cars 3 is that McQueen doesn't necessarily have to retire. He could still race, but instead of against new gen cars like Storm, with cars that matches his speed. But at least he went on to kinda finish what he started, but still, putting him against cars faster than him, doesn't kinda make sense. Or maybe he might've still stood a bit of chance, if he used drafting. I'm no nascar expert so people can tell me more about other things McQueen could've done to at least somewhat be abke to keep up his pace
I liked how most of the other racers treated Cruz with respect and like she was one of them.
I suspect the cars 4 will reveal McQueen’s endgame; since he said that he will keep racing.
Cars 3 for me I think was a good return to form the franchise and it puts all the focus back on McQueen and his career. Yes I still have a bit of problems with it but everything in that movie looked like it was all headed in the right direction, I was loving it, I loved all the call backs to the first movie, everything was going so well in this movie until... the 3rd act...
That is what set me off about this movie, and that's what changed my opinion it, and it really pissed me off, you have McQueen training like an animal for one big final race of his career, and all along I thought he was gonna finally win the big one and honor Doc Hudson, and he was, but mid-race he just quits and hands it over to this nobody female car trainer that we really don't care for, and tells us that she has never raced in her life and she just automatically beats Jackson Storm in the end and that's it, that's your end to the trilogy.
It only just makes McQueen look like a b'tch and a fool in the end and just destroys everything that he stood for. Like bruh we want to see McQueen and finish his comeback story and win the big final race of his career not some bum wannabee that we don't know and don't give a fxck about.
Oh and them saying that he's old and not fast anymore, in sports that is your opportunity to train as hard as you ever have you grind and make a comeback and you prove them all wrong and tell them to their face and say "ay fxckers I still got this somb'tch, now I'm out yo", and after he wins he retires and then trains Cruz Ramirez to help her become a real race car. You finish McQueen's story first, you complete his character arch and then you can get to Cruz in the end and you finish the movie the right way. That is how the movie should've been handled. This was supposed to be Lightning McQueen's moment but no it was ruined cuz it falls victim to bad last second plot twist, horrible dialog, and poor character development. In the end McQueen did not deserve to go out this.
if mcqueen was able to beat the newer generation racers with just a week of practise, why woudnt all the other older generation racers like cal and swift do the same? that sounds like a plot hole to me

Would love to see another Cars just one last one but there’s absolutely ZERO reason for it. So many trilogies have been ruined due to the 4th movie that wasn’t ever planned until last minute, or even tv shows. Some of those shows have the young ones living up to their potential getting through the challenges and then they start mentoring a new generation.
We’ve seen it in a lot, I think Kung Fu Panda unfortunately is doing something similar.

Cars 2 had so much potential but they did ruin it, I still enjoyed the grand prix races of course and Cars 3 is great because of the ending to the trilogy. The first film will always be a childhood treasure though, I'm just glad that Mcqueens going to continue to race, they probably might make Cars 4, but I don't know it'd fit as a new trilogy of its own.

To be honest lighting McQueen story was rushed to fast like the first movie was the best because he had character development, the second not even important and while the 3rd was ok the ending was underwhelming and not that good in my opinion. Another issue is that the movies always mention his achievements and wins but we never see them like the pacing was wayy to fast for McQueen story I wished he was more flesh out due to him being my favorite childhood character
