Despite knowing every beat of this due to listening to it to death as a 90's teen, only now as an adult and sound engineer/musician (Due to Trent) have I suddenly realised Trent used the sound effect of a screaming goat on a couple of occasions in the first track. 😂 Listen out for it next play through.

This album always seemed more Broken then Fixed.
Then it probably should've been titled 'Irony'...but with the 'n' backwards.
@@Axolotl_Mischief we're a bunch of ninnies
Best thing reznor ever released
I love Broken, too. I was obsessed as a young teen. I looked for all remix albums, imports. I was listening to Further Down the Spiral this morning. Another masterpiece
I really, really enjoyed when I discovered this EP as a kid when it was a few years old. It used to drive my parents fucking crazy, they hated it whenever I'd play it in my room and ask if my stereo was broken
-Son, so why your stereo was broken?
-I just listen "Broken" EP.
* Brings you "Fixed" EP *
this was so underated ... its an epic record
I love how the 2 EPs broken and fixed compare to eachother.
Broken seems to be all hell breaking lose and fixed is like it's trying to control the insanity.
This is my 8th grade Washington DC field trip album i bought at the Mall of America there, early 90s. It was the most epic teenage field trip i could have had. I'll never forget, the bus ride, the girls, the music, the trouble i got in. Trent Reznor was on fire at this time.
peak NIN - love this EP
Yeah this album was so underated probably there best remix album i think anyways
Gonna smash myself to pieces
I don't know what else to do
Sounds like a toolkit going through a wood chipper, it's incredibly great.
Last track... Screaming Slave....top notch song destruction. Bleak and apocalyptic... and very 90s lol
This, Broken, Up Evil, Evil Off, and Psalm69 were on heavy rotation
Are we twins? Throw in some Bigod 20, Puppy, and Nitzer Ebb, and I'd buy a house with you.
Nothing will ever touch Broken
Song 3 "Happiness in Slavery" is banging.
My favorite by far
Yeah, it almost sounds like something on an early Skinny Puppy album.
5) Fist Fuck is a beast as well.
I couldn't agree more
30 years ago they had better sounds than today (clarifying: they, we all the musical environment)
Sample-twisting vs synthesis. 90's dnb was a lot better for similar reasons.
Too caught up in global consciousness to go their own route. Not in touch with nature.
@user-gz1kv1us8r really? Macintosh and 3 and 1/4 floppies rule. ahah
@user-gz1kv1us8r you're misunderstanding, i was kidding. All the NIN stuff has sublime sounds. I am sorry you didn't get the joke
I hate comments like this. There are still plenty of killer sounds being released these days and we have access to a hell of a lot more of it today than we did 30 years ago.
Just gotta know where to look and what to look for, my friend.
🗣 *Still remember buying this in 92’ on tape & hearing ‘Gave up’ (Coils remix) for the first time & thinking the bars just been moved again!* 💯🎵🎵
Use to have a coil remix cd called windowpane and the snow,I would put it on repeat for hours and draw and write....good stuff!
@@ronnlongshore8408 *’Windowpane’ & the ‘Snow’ ep were pure quality!* 💯🎵🎵

There version of Tainted Love is the best version ever. Fight me.
Known about NIN since age 14, was one of my favorite bands for a few years, and never heard Fixed. Ducking dig the shit out of this EP.
ducking from what? ducking while digging? Was someone throwing things at you that caused you to duck?
guy is on quack @@JaceDanielFilms
duck yeah! @@JaceDanielFilms
@@JaceDanielFilms fun fact: on mobile devices "fucking" almost always immediately autocorrects to "ducking". hope this helps!
I have every single or maxi single ever made. I have stuff from other countries even. I collect anything that they made. I even made a huge hook latch rug on the NiN logo. I sold it two years ago to a fellow NIN fan. I just didn’t have the space for it anymore
I love how the ep's are called broken and fixed
I highly suggest listening to this for 26 years and becoming intimately familiar with the chopped vocals in the first track before imagining they're being done by Michael Jackson. Absolutely sublime.
huh?
@@crystalowens9742 I SAID, PRETEND IT'S MICHAEL JACKSON ON TRACK 1, IT'S FUNNY
@@buckofazoo ah, yes! : )
Shamone!
Did they teach you sentences? I doubt it.
This is insanity ✨✨✨
This is equal to Broken. I remember jamming this in the late 90's.
Pure gold 90s af nin
Simply brilliant.
If you're listening you have good taste in music
NiN is my favorite band and will always be my favorite band ever!.
Broken was easier to get but I always prefered Fixed.
Broken made for better angry driving music and Fixed was way more artistic. IMHO
i loved fixed a bit more than broken
never mix them together
@@LarkVsOwl-de3op i have to i like them both
seems like they go together😝
@@payableondeath9091 I have to tell everyone this.
😂 I got broken on tape and wasn't until years later I realized that there was a side B. It began with at least 10 minutes of nothing. ...
Get it
... Nothing... On the "Broken" tape side B?! 😂
@@megalorain🤣😜 the first time I listened to it was on my old walkman and it startled me but in a good way haha
It's like a soundtrack for nuclear winter.
back in the day i recorded the words at 34:43 on sound recorder on windows 95 and reversed it. "just words and so much flesh"
As far as nin go, it doesn't get any better than fixed in my opinion.
that beat on Happiness In Slavery hits HARD !!! such a good album
Anyone have this t-shirt from this EP?
I do! Bought it when I was 13, in 1993.
Originals are worth a shit ton of $$$. But no one in their right mind would sell it.
Nice very hard to find
Awesome remix album
Gave up on this album made me berserk buck wild listening 🎧 to it
This is the way the world is and the way the world will always be.
reznors nothing studio is where the sharon tate murders happened from charles manson
"You know, I'd like to feel that way too."
"I bet you will someday."
Amo este disco. Es lo que tengo en la cabeza... mi locura... mi Yo hecho música.
This is the best album Trent reznor has ever made
the nin remix albums are always better - no arena rock bullshit, and other good artists collaborating
the Quake ost was not officially an album - so maybe
@@thomassmart4088 It was an official soundtrack album by Trent Reznor and NIN.It just wasn't commercially available until September 2020 even though it was made in 1996 for the game
@@ronnlongshore8408 nice
agreed
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing/uploading this!
I listen to this daily! Thank you!
happiness in slavery remix is so good
INCREDIBLE SONG BROTHER.
I like how Wish and Fist Fuck were remixed by the same guy who wrote the Venture Brothers theme.
tysm~
My friends and I were really into drugs during Highschool in the 1990s. When we couldn't get acid or shrooms and wanted to trip we would get 8oz bottles of Robitussin and all three of us would drink one straight to the dome. My Dad was cool so we all would hang out in my blacklit room tripping balls listening to NIN and painting with glow in the dark paint. Awesome memories and really intense music.
I remember those days. Doing the robo-dance. Such a bizarre drug.
@@landofthesilverpath5823 Really weird on high doses. I remember looking at myself from across the room thinking "holy shit that kid over on the couch is tripping his face off." Sometimes my friends and I would have entire conversations without actual words just a series of beeps bloops and other nonsense yet somehow we understood each other perfectly.
woooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwww!!!!!!
92 was Broken. Whenever, was Fixed. Bad ass, to state the least. Drones of patterns in and out different mix. Wow!
🗣 *1992!*
Yes yes damn good
My college roommate grew up on a cattle ranch, and wasn't a fan of this album when I played it to study lol
Everytime I listen to this album I never get the notion that anything has been fixed at all, in fact when compared to broken this album seems to exemplify that things have gotten much worse.
🎉❤❤❤❤❤🎉
These two EPs in 1992 came out at the perfect time for me. Love NIN and Trent Reznor!
Screaming slave is a awsome track
I like the first album. This one is very hard for me to connect with and difficult for me to listen too. Reminds me of someone who is strung out on speed&ket or something
LOL... I hope you listened to "Broken" before this one. Some of these remixes are pretty nuts.
Track 3 is the definition of industrial.
YEYEYE _ that was great 4 my Tattoo Session _ #goodold90s #mychildhood
There's some strange corridors in the mansion of nin...
We do not want a planet Bezos
...always loved this album because of the madness and chaos of it...
...broken is raw and too the point, fixed makes a point of tearing it into shreds and making what kinda feels either fixed or bleeding a new sense of something even more fucked up...
Is that audio from Bob Flannigan who is making the pain noises at the end?
Yes 'tis Mr Flannigan
The drugs so work
SLAVERY
I am so dirty, on the inside.....
Well, GOOD techno. Pretty hate of coarse Aheada it's time
Lyrics are amazing
Where are all the comments?
2021 not many of us left dude...stay safe and well.
Listen too this album on acid or shrooms front too back then there will be comments lol
Still here.
Found one!
Hmmmm, never new people liked this album. I barely listened to it.
During my summer internship in '96, I put this disk on for my morning commute most mornings. Load it in my Sanyo Discman-clone, tape adaptor in the car's tape deck, and bam. The "vocal sample drum machine" bit would kick in about the time I got on the main drag. More effective than a cup of coffee to get going in the morning.
I always felt like broken was over produced. Like it was what the record label wanted. Everything was too polished
How could you say that when it was a fuck you to TVT records
I love broken but this just sounds like trent having a stroke
Too many stops for adds, I cannot even enjoy it
Is there a single note recorded by NIN that hasn't been released? Remixed and released? Released and remixed and re-released? After the first ten years I just lost interest. The entire Beatles oeuvre runs like 15 hours. NIN must release 15 hours every year, at least.
Never saw the appeal of this one. Here trying again.
